Good Day Zach, I'm a student in Canada studying (Ancient Greek and Roman Studies, Minor in Anthropology and Media Studies. Options in Medical Humanities and Health Sciences, Options in International Development Studies) at Trent University as an Undergraduate. I am learning a lot from your video here this morning, honestly, I am impressed by the relationship you demonstrated between Medical and Biological Anthropology and Medicine) both are complimentary with each other. Everything you said in this video I agree with. I also like the idea how you integrated Medicine with Social Sciences as well because this is indeed vital in our society. Right Biological Evolution under Anthropology is something that I will use when I get into the Medical Field after my undergrad. One of the three things you mention that stood out in this video is (Human Life Expectancy - This is really important as well when it comes to human life and evolution, the second one is the environment so in an anthropological sense you're speaking based on Holism, which means having interest to study and understand different or unique aspects of human life and its influences which highlights how they live and run their daily life, in which it contributes to their life expectancy. You were also mentioning Genetics play a role as well, but the one that stood out the most is geographical location and its geological habitat like water, food, and fertile soil that also contributes to their local traditions and longtime practices this goes under "subsistence/food procurement, which is my third observation and point). I would like to lastly add that, when you spoke Italian, this also classifies under "Linguistic-Anthropology," speaking a different language that adapts naturally to their way of communication and to learn how human behaviour and social life, through observations as well as well as interviews. Overall, well done! Great Content. Observing your content before my class starts during the day, is educational, productive and helpful. - Ahmed Jibrail Borja (First Year, Undergraduate Student, Trent University). i've recently really gotten into blue zones and finding information on life longevity, and based on what i've seen/read/watched, the formula to a long (and fulfilled) life is consistently the same: diet, movement, community, and purpose. this is an awesome video exploring these concepts!
Their way of life seems to supports not only the physical self but it seems also very much the emotional and psychological self. Awesome. Love it. They seem to be very down to earth.
È un video educativo che incoraggia le persone a prestare attenzione a ciò che mangiano, a quanto esercizio fisico fanno e, soprattutto, a essere vicini e gentili con gli altri. Bravo, il video è davvero bellissimo!
Both my grandfathers and grandmothers are over 80 years old. They still go to the church every mornings, work in the paddy fields, sleep early and eat very simple as the poor❤
@@ZachHighley The purpose of something is to generate a product from the first reality to be brought into the second reality. Living long within the first reality would still not generate the product that can be brought into the second reality. 💋 Unless they have a supporting role to assist others to generate the product, then they should live as long as possible.
I love the show of hospitality, gatherings, and welcoming family, friends, and strangers, that strong sense of community with a good healthy atmosphere keeps the body and mind healthy. Preparing, and eating real foods will always trump restaurants or prepackaged foods when it comes to longevity of life. Also because they live where there is so much water and foliage it keeps the lungs, brain, and body cells especially healthy due to lots of oxygen in the atmosphere and the natural cleansing cycle. Breathing in the right amounts of healthy oxygen can extend your life and rid the body of many illnesses. But more importantly, that's the "true real" Italian way a strong sense of "hospitality" aka meaning "love of strangers", family, and community because you're the guest. To say no is actually an insult. ☺
Hello zach how are you? I missed vidoes of your coz i got a big test coming up. Its so hard to start studying. Can you post a video of how you get the motivation to actully start studying for exams it would be a huge help❤❤❤
We have a lot to learn from them. It's so surprisingly sustainable and cyclical, so beautifully symbiotic. We would be healthier and the earth would too.
I was watching you videos when i was in high school and i scored B in every test. Now i implement the active reacll and rhe pomodoro now iam he kid who scored 97th percentile in the MCAT I know i was shocked because your score is 97th too❤❤
How do you feel about the blue zone phenomena likely being as a result of differences in literacy? That is, in places where literacy is low more people have incorrect birthdays which makes them incorrectly appear over 100. Controlling for the time at which literacy became common results in a 90% decrease in people living to 100 from that time point.
Man, the historical recap in the intro (Italy didn’t take back squat, Sardinia had been part of the arguably italian Savoia duchy since 1723, which then became Kingdom of Sardinia, IE the State that united Italy in 1861) is ROUGH. By the way, Sardinia is the 47th biggest island in the world: I don’t think describing it as “tiny” does it justice. Angry italian signing off 🤌

Agreed!
That was so heartwarming. I was so touched by their compassion. Love makes the world go round. :)

Fulfilling the purpose of life is more important than length of life.
I agree with your argument. Also good health irrespective of longevity does help significantly.
What if my life purpose is to live long thoughhhhh (joking)

Holy shit, rural Sardinia life is almost the same as in rural Galicia! And fun fact, my great-granduncle lived to be 102 years old. Coincidence...?
