I ordered the AER City Pack earlier...looking forward to trying it out! This City Pack will replace my Day Pack 1 as well. I also have the Black Ember Shadow which looks very similar to this design.
Thank you for watching and that’s awesome you were able to get this! I hope you enjoy using it a lot! Definitely a good replacement for the day pack 1. I haven’t had a chance to try out the shadow but it looks pretty cool! I like that that one is clamshell opening but I really like the organizational layout on this one and the fact that it has a water bottle pocket:)
Black amber is a bigger bag 22 litres city pack is 14 litre so I prefer the smaller bag. To me I think the AER looks a little slicker in my opinion and the AER is a cheaper like $50 less so I think AER is on the right path with the city pack
Great review. I love AER's build quality. I had the day pack but I didnt need all that organization and slip pockets for my daily carry. I always tend to go back to the goruck gr1 21L for daily carry or the evergoods cpl 24L if i need some more room and organization.
Thank you for watching and I definitely understand, those 2 are some of the bags that I default to the most, the layout just matches my organizational style really well!:)
@@dannypacks it's interesting that the city pack is almost an entire liter lighter. I feel like with the extra "sleeve" in the admin section that I can use for an iPad, and that front pocket - I will be able to utilize space more than the day pack. Can I get your thoughts? I currently just got the day pack x pack 2 but may return for the city pack x pack
Good questions! I think overall amount of stuff they can hold is really similar, but I think that since the city pack doesn’t have the rigid inserts that the day pack has which allow it to stand on its own it offers more flexibility with how much it can hold. You can remove the inserts from the day pack to make it similar so I think it comes down more to aesthetic preference and if you want the new harness system upgrades :)
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! Personally I did find this more comfortable overall, I prefer this strap style and the back panel has more padding and ventilation. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags!:)
Hi, Daniel. not sure you remember me but I am about to buy the city pack this time lol. Is the link in the description affiliated? Please let me know :)
Thank you for watching! Unfortunately the base on this one isn’t as wide and it doesn’t have the rigid insert that the day pack has so I won’t stand up on its own as well. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)
Thank you for watching! It can but it’s not very consistent given how slim the bottom of the bag is and the bag will tip depending how the bag is loaded

Really dig AER's stuff - my favorite is still the Day Pack 1 though - they just "stuck the landing" on that one, IMO
Thank you for watching and I agree that was a really solid option!:)

@@dannypacks I ended up buying this bag after watching! Keep it up!
I ve missed your videos! Keep bringing them
Thank you for watching!:)
I like the City Pack, but I also like the the Travel Sling2 as my EDC workbag. More good stuff from AER. Great review.
Thank you for watching and I agree the travel sling is another really great daily bag!:)
The Aer Cardholder looks so nice! It’s now discontinued…
Thank you for watching and that’s unfortunate to hear it’s not in stock! Hopefully that means they’ll be updating it in the future
Between the AER day pack and city pack, which one do you personally like more?
Good question! Personally I prefer the city pack as I like the overall aesthetic more and the new harness system is a nice update!:)

Just mixed day and travel pack together
Thank you for watching and I agree, for me that’s the ideal mix as I’ve always loved the look of the travel pack but wished it came in a daily size!:)
Great review man!
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful!:)
Every time I hear "zipper garage" I think it's a lame and a cool name at the same time. Great review!
Thank you for watching and fair point on the zipper garage name. I remember I chuckled the first time I heard it :) haha
Bloody awesome review. Just wondering if you find the City Pack more comfortable than the Tom Bihn Synik?

@@dannypacks thank you! My Synik 22 is a bloody good edc backpack but I’m always on the lookout for more gear haha.
@@dannypacks brilliant! Thanks very much for the reply.

Thank you for watching! Yes that is an affiliate link for the bag in the description, I really appreciate the support!:)
@@dannypacks Thank you. I just bought one through the link :)
What is the grooming kit you mentioned at 9:40?
What brand is the folding iPad stand?
Great review as usual!! Can you let me know if the City Pack will stand up on its own like the Day Pack 2?
Thank you for watching! Unfortunately the base on this one isn’t as wide and it doesn’t have the rigid insert that the day pack has so I won’t stand up on its own as well. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)
I want all 3 in xpac
Thank you for watching and they definitely look great in xpac, such a versatile material!:)
Does the city pack stand well on its own?
Thank you for watching! It can but it’s not very consistent given how slim the bottom of the bag is and the bag will tip depending how the bag is loaded
No if you want that Go with the day pack 2
I went with the city pack xpac. Don’t like the turtle shell look of the day pack 2
Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy using the city pack a lot! That’s awesome you were able to get it in xpac as well!
