Holy moly! My Aer Tech Pack 3 x-Pac just landed on my doorstep, and I'm over the moon about its sleeker design. The orange interior is fire 🔥. It’s big enough to carry 16” MacBook Pro, medium size cable and charging compartment, 11” iPad Pro, AirPod Pro 2, Logitech MX Master 3s mouse, medium size backpack rain cover, 350ml water bottle and mini umbrella.
I've been rocking the Aer Travel Pack 3 Small for my daily office grind for nearly a year, and it's been a total champ. Excited to switch things up and use the Tech Pack 3 for my weekend adventures! Now waiting for the Alpaka Element Tech Case Max and ready to roll 🎉
Stoked to hear!
Full circle! First time I watched your channel was the Day Pack 2 vs Tech Pack 2. Watched every vid since - good stuff! 🎉
haha, meant to be!
Always like the minimalist style and maximizing every space of Aer bags. Appreciate the detailed review Nomads Nation 👌
Our pleasure!
Great Video, best Aer Tech Pack 3 review out.
appreciate that! hope it brought you value
Such a great review.
Thanks so much!
Bro, I watch a lot of backpack vids (i'm in therapy) and yours are the best. All intel, slight humor, perfect delivery. Keep it up. 🙏
This means a lot dude, we put so much time into these reviews, glad you are getting value out of them!
Aaron you’ve got me into watching Bag reviews! Ha ha keep up the content bro!
sorry, not sorry 😉
will go to the new NYC store when it opens to check it out!
Nice!
Great review as always Aaron! I asked you a little while ago if it was time for Aer to update the Day Pack 2 and here we are! Def getting this one, I really like the design/aesthetic and 14L is enough for me since I don’t usually carry a lot for work. I’m also glad they added a PU coated zipper for the tech compartment of the Day Pack 3 and I much prefer this lighter interior lining. My question is, I imagine the new padding and mesh of the back panel is still comfortable, but not as much as the Day Pack 2?
Still very comfortable, I just prefer the feel of the previous mesh
The only problem that I had with my Day Pack 2 is the lack of the side handle that is why I sold it in favour of City Pack. Glad that they've added it in the 3rd generation! Also used Slim Pack(was my actual daily driver) but sold it to get a recently updated Able Carry Thirteen.
I'm personally not a stickler for side handles on EDC bags, but I can see how it never hurts to have one
How did you sell it? I bought the Day Pack 2 last month in xpack. I want the 3
whooo!!! excited for this!! Glad they updated the underwear looking interiors to a cleaner, flater and more elegant design!
agreed all around!
Dang, it hasn't been long since I bought Day Pack 2.
That side handle seems like a huge improvement.
It seems that Tech Pack 3 also got a huge improvement in terms of its weight, since Tech Pack 2 was just way to heavy for its size
.6 lbs lighter is def a big improvement (but its still pretty heavy all things considered)
If AER added a side slot like the Errant Pro I would have stayed a customer. I love being able to access my keys without taking the backpack off.
I am not asking for side access to the main compartment (but that is always cool), just quick access to the stow-away slot.
Agree - losing that pocket sucks
The tech pack stands up as well as my Tenba dna camera bag, which is really cool. The interior is much nicer. I don’t mind the non clamshell, full clamshell is for lay down bags, this is a stand up bag. Pity about the less soft mesh, I like the old soft mesh padding.
me tooo
If anyone cares, the Tech Pack 2 (regular version) is still available for $60 off on their website. While they last obviously. It’s also 1L larger if it matters to you and you don’t want to miss out on that.
great call, it's still an amazing bag
I purchased that backpack with the cable kit 2, for 200 bucks for those two, it was a killer deal
@@okay4398nice score
@@Nomads.Nation It arrives in a few days, I cant wait.
What are the biggest differences from the tech 2 vs 3 ?
Like it. Love it. Hmmmm....! Great review though. Cheers AR & Team.
❤️ 🤠
Are the X-PAC versions similarly padded as the regular versions? I need the bag to stand on its own.
yes
I love the upgrades they made on the Tech Pack 3. Is it worth the upgrade from the Tech Pack 2? Maybe? I still have my Tech Pack 2 and it's holding up pretty well. It might even survive until they release the Tech Pack 4 LOL.
that's a personal call haha, but I can say the new fabrics in the interior are sooo much better
8:10 Dude no lie at first when you threw all this shit on the table, I was like no way will all that fit… Looks like homie got a whole box of fleek from Aer, and just couldn’t wait to show off the love. But then after the packing cube disappeared, I started to think of some of the crazy loads I have crammed into my Tokai 14L ( just a collab version of the city pack )
Ye dude, I thought no way as well - pretty impressive!
Thanks aron!❤ Do you have any idea the difference between the city pack (non pro) and the daypack 3 ( both have x- pac and are around the same price!)
they are pretty different bags, we've done reviews on the Aer City Pack, be sure to check it out! If you have a specific question about any of the differences I'm glad to help
Did you have the frame sheet in the Day Pack when you packed it out? Other reviewers said you can’t hardly get anything in the main compartment but you got a packing cube and a Travel Kit, I think.
I did not remove the frame sheet
Just wanted to ask if you guys would be able to review the Herchel Seymour bag if not no worries
I’ll add to our (very long) wish list 💪🏻
I may have binged a few of your videos in the last days… 😅
And I still can‘t decide between the Aer Day Pack 3, the Alpaka Elements Pro Pack and the Modern Dayfarer V2.
The Day Pack 3 looks great, but lacks a bit of quick access for me, which the Alpaka offers, but I‘m not so sold on the Hub accessories. The Dayfarer clearly has the best quick access, but misses an admin panel and isn‘t selfstanding, where the Aer one shines…
Can you offer any tips on this stalemate? Other than waiting for the Fyro, which I do 😅
lol I'd say just focus on the feature that's most important to you and pick the bag based on that. Can't go wrong with any of them.
Aaron, do you know if the sternum strap is removeable? No one seems to cover this
99% sure that it is but I don't have the bag with me right now to confirm
Would you recommend these for something like high school?
I carry about 5 notebooks, 2 folder's, a 16" laptop, pencil case, glasses case, and snacks.
for sure! great EDC for anyone to be honest
Hey Aaron, thanks a ton, for the quality and consistency of your reviews, they helped me narrow down the choices to the offerings from Aer. I narrowed it down to tech pack, city pack and city pack pro I lean towards the city pack, but suspect they'd do a refresh for it soon.. how would you compare quality of the insides between the tech pack 3 and city pack that is now 3 years old? would u expect a refresh for it in the next 6-8 months?
Thanks!
Thanks dude! The interior fabrics on the tech pack 3 is superior across the board, but the City Pack is still an amazing bag. I have no idea when a new version will be hitting the market unfortunately
thanks for the reply:)
- If the city backpack had a 18-20L brother that would be the perfect one for me, could you recommend which backpacks to look at based on that?
(i’ve seen the pro pack 20L, but i’m not sure about the style, branding and the different material..)
thanks!;)
also what is your opinion on quality of the insides of day and tech packs vs city pac pro?
I prefer the interior of the new Day Pack and Tech Pack over the CPP@@StubbornTengu . As for a 18L-20L recommendation, check out the Black Ember Citadel 18L or the Alpaka Elements Backpack - similar vibe
I wish AER had a Backpack in the 31-33 L range like a mix of the travel and the tech. I would be happy to fine anything good in this range to be honest
Write them a passionate letter, they might listen 😉
Maybe just get the travel pack 3 small !
Damn. Im mad i copped the alpacka metro 12L. That 16l looks solid
Metro backpack is also solid though
Love My AER CPP
It’s a beast for sure
If you’re able to, I’d love to see a comparison of tech pack 3 vs City Pack Pro and Day Pack 3 vs City Pack
Since they basically seem to be each others rival. Tech vs City. Yet both bring the same with xpac.
What are your thoughts?
I think it’s a great idea! But unfortunately we are backed up at least 6 months with content so I wouldn’t hold your breath 😂
@@Nomads.Nation appreciate the honesty 😂 but which would you recommend between the Day Pack 3 & City Pack
@@arturomntl5003you can’t go wrong with either, it totally depends on your needs and what you want out of a bag. I’m happy to help if you can give me some details of what you are looking for
Are there any noticeable differences with the day pack 3 versus the 2?
I unfortunately don’t have the 2 with me so I can’t say for sure (aside from amazing fabric upgrades)
Been using Aer Travel Pack 3 small for few months and it’s still holding pretty well. Great backpack after the TUMI Alpha Bravo backpack accompanied me for the past 8 years.
Still waiting for the Fyro backpack 🤌🏼😆
Coming soon!!
I’m tempted to pick Aer Tech Pack 3 but the 16L is on tight side. Btw, do you have Nomad Nation Discord channel?
we've got something better, the NN Marketplace where there are 2,000 bag-lovers talking bags in the discord-like chats. Check it out and join the convo! district.net/nomads
@@Nomads.Nation thanks man
Who’s eagerly wondering what might be awaiting for the eventual CPP2?! Will admit to liking the Tech Pack.
✋
Do Aer bags ever go on sale? If so, when would be the best time of the year to buy one of these?
Only on sale during Black Friday I believe
damn. thanks man@@AhmedDada
How are the zippers on the xpac vs the cordura? Sticky?
Yes, but they’ll wear in a bit over time
I feel like this is a slightly less utilitarian version of the Nomatic travel pack/backpack.
Interesting comparison! I’d say compared to those Nomatic bags, these bags are simpler, less expensive, lighter in weight and with much higher quality materials
The hi-vis orange internal lining is getting a bit tiring regardless of brand 😅
interesting point. it seems standard at his point, but maybe it's being taken too far as well. That's why for my bag brand Fyro we are going to launch a new lining no other brand uses ;)
Loved the look of the tech pack until I seen the £285 price tag in the UK. Feels massively inflated considering the pro packs (both city pack pro and pro pack 24 run around £200). Great video though Aaron
are you sure? it's only $220 USD in the US
I swear on my life it was 285 when I looked .... 219 now though 😅, either they've updated the price or I was still feeling the effects of not having a coffee.. apologies AER
Tech pack 2 vs tech pack 3? The 2 has all pup coatings on their zippers, its bulky tho and quite big on my frame. Is the 3 less bulkier? Would the day pack 3 suit me better in terms of size etc? Throwing it out there
I don’t know your height 🤔
About 172cm haha. Just really considering which of the two im getting :)
@@JoenelleM can’t go wrong with either! I’d say only get the Day Pack if you don’t carry a lot of stuff as it is tight in the main compartment. I’m not sure about comparing old to new versions as I no longer have the old versions in my hands
@@Nomads.Nation thanks! Will do a little more research :)
22L version would be sick
hopefully one day!
👍

What's the main differences between Pack 2 and Pack 3?
I don’t have the 2 with me so I can’t say for sure - but the 3 def upgraded its fabrics and removed the quick access side key pocket unfortunately
So quick ‘

Tech Pack 3 or City Pack Pro? 🤔
Depends what you value. Easiest way to determine is how much space you need. If you carry more gear - go with ACPP
FIRST how come you havent done a video on the aer travel pack 3 vs aer flight 3
Second you've already built the fyro bag
and thirdly tell the boys at team fyro where's the secret vault! XD
1. Never been asked! They are kinda different bags so never thought about it either tbh
2. Yup, built! But these videos can’t be edited so the Building a Backpack call to action will stay there forever haha
3. Coming soon 😏
@@Nomads.Nation question remains which one do you prefer travel or flight bag
(Slams desk) the people want to know
@@wickedheathen7347 😂 well truth be told they are very different bags. If I'm looking for an EDC that can also double perfectly with a suitcase - Aer Flight Pack all day. If I'm looking for a one bag travel pack - Aer Travel Pack all day!
This is the earliest I’ve ever been.
nice work 💪
I got the tech pack 2 it’s heavy and so bulky 😂
Yes. Tech pack 2 is awesome but a bit bulky for its dimensions.
agreed all around
Your Hoodie-“George” is a Walmart brand.
Makes sense, I’m a man of luxury
The bag/edc community should be called Aerheads. Using the terms high quality in reference to materials made from plastic materials is an oxymoron. There's no need for all these bag companies especially at these prices. People were carrying things without issues way before all these overly engineered feature laden for marketing purposes and to justify high prices ever existed.
Thanks for your feedback. Do you feel this way about all markets (cars, shoes, wallets, etc) or just something about pricey backpacks grinds your gears?
@@Nomads.Nation Absolutely. Partly making a joke about Aerheads and partly being serious about how these industries promote and foster consumer culture. Sneakerheads pay enormous amounts for same low quality plastic construction over less hyped longer lasting Goodyear welted leather shoes. Mechanics complain about quality of modern cars for being over engineered over classic car construction. Bag/edc industry fosters continual consumer buying to upgrade and add more unnecessary items in the plastic bags/slings you paid a few hundred for. If you are going to spend that kind of money to lug your items around why not spend it on true high quality proven long lasting materials companies like Cravar and Frank Clegg produce. To each their own for what they value, just my opinion.
@@user-oy7nr4dk7x appreciate your response and yeah, I think it's an interesting conversation. I agree that a lot of bag culture is based around unnecessary spending - it's why I conculde every one of my newsletters with the disclaimer "remember, great gear can elevate your efficiency, but true happiness is always found within." I disagree though that the materials used in these bags are not high quality. Are many of the fabrics derived from plastic? Absolutely. But holy moly, many of these materials are insanely durable as well and look/feel great. I see that Cravar makes high quality leather bags, but myself (And a lot of people) aren't really into leather and prefer a more modern aesthetic and lighter build to our bags. Like you said, to each their own 💪
I had pairs of hush puppies shoes which wore out every year needing replacement. Then I got a pair of RM Williams 6 year ago and still going strong with them. Have not replaced them one bit. I’ve also had cheap bags that whenever I joined a gym I am given one and they would break after a year or so. I’ve had my Aer gym duffle version 1 since the company first launched and it is still holding out so well. YMMV but I don’t believe these are over engineered. They are made from quality material that hopefully should last a long time more.

Man if these are their design language for 2024, I cant wait for what their design iteration will be for the City Pack Pro.
