    Thank you Sharon for this awesome and succinct comparison! I have Lisa's Ultimate and was seeing makers use Sizzix and wondered if I was missing out. The option to move the stencil around made me wonder if I should have selected Sissix! Your video put me at ease with my purchase. I like that in Lisa's you can use thick rubber stamps anywhere and not have to put them on the edge of the platform. Plus, Lisa has added a Sticky Grid and Magnetic cutting mat so now it can do everything LOL! I shall now subscribe to your channel to see what is in store!

    Fantastic comparisons thank you so much. Very handy! Liked and Subscribed!
    I have the TH stamping platform but the stencil adapter seems like a great idea as well be using them alot for layering. Might have to buy the sizzix one. Frustrating when you have a product and you need another because of an additional benefit haha 😂

    Thanks for this. I already have the Tim Holtz stamp platform so it is the stencil aspect I am interested in. I saw the Sizzix one on TV as I didn’t know about Lisa’s and was thinking about buying it but for me Lisa’s wins on the die adapter.

    Thanks for the comparison - both great options. I would lean toward Lisa Hortons as both cling and clear stamps can be used - just not a fan of the huge logo on the front which limits visibility while stamping.

    Excellent video!! Disappointed that the Sizzix tool doesn't work with rubber stamps. If I have to remember to stamp at the bottom to get a good impression from a rubber stamp, that's a shortcoming. It seems I couldn't achieve a good impression from an A2 size rubber stamp or a 6x6 rubber stamp.

    I already bought the Sizzix stencil & stamp platform (after waiting for quite some time to get a better price) but I wanted to see a comparison of the two products plus I have a LOT of Lisa's stencils and wanted to see your suggestion for using them in it. ❓❓❓I have a question about stamping on wood pieces with a cling (rubber) stamp. Would either platform be able to do it? I'm thinking not. I have a stamping platform that uses little feet that stand above the platform until pressed down and so was able to use it to stamp on the wood, which is about 3/8" thick. (I'm not great at using blocks to stamp - I like a PERFECT image.)

    • @sharoncurtis
      @sharoncurtis  8 місяців тому

      To use Lisa's stencils in the Sizzix tool you would just need to use the Sizzix adapters (you just stick them onto the stencil and it gives you the right holes for the peg system). I can't think of a way to stamp on wood with any stamp platform, and the thickness would make it impossible.

      @@sharoncurtis Actually, I did stamp on wood ornaments with my Artemio Stampingpro platform using clear stamps. (I believe there are other platforms with the same design as it has.) The ornaments were about 3/16" thick. The platform has feet that hold the "door" off the base until you press down. I also have a grip mat and sticky mat in the platform so I don't necessarily have to use magnets to keep things in place. Granted thicker wood obviously wouldn't work but I got great results. Good to know about the Lisa Horton stencils. Did I miss that info in the video? Anyway, I appreciated your comparison.

    Great job showing how both work within their given platforms and beyond with adaptors and other methods too. I came to UA-cam today to quickly evaluate the Sizzix Stamp and press tool and the Misti? Both on sale int he states via Black Friday an additional 10% off which just about covers shipping. I was hoping to find a press that does the larger paper and cardstock sheets. For one thing I am designing a never ending HP card and want a large one not an itty one. So I think you convinced me to go with the Sizzix. Compared to the Lisa Horton they are so not that different except when it comes to upper size of paper use. I do not stencil very often but might play with it using a sticky mat placed on one of my glass cutting mats. Then I wouldn't need a fancy hole punched for peg stencil in either options shown today. I could just skip that. I also just orderd a set of 3 glass cutting mats with magnets and again add a thin sticky mat and voila I have the Lisa Horton's set up without having to play with holes punched or hole punching. I do favor Lisa's die cut adaptor though I bet a 1/16 or 1/8 inch hole punch would work well to punch matching holes as a template to the Sizzix too. You definitely shared some insights I hadn't figured out today. So kudo's for such a great job. Now to make up my mind !!!!

    Sharon, thank you for the comparison between both tools. I live in the US and I looking at the Lisa’s tool, but it’s a scoring board and stenciling. It doesn’t say that it can be used as a stamping tool. I own various stamping tools and one of them is the Tim Holts stamping board and it has the hinges similar to my Misti. I know that Tim Holts had to remove his stamping board until the court decided what could be done. It is currently one of the most used. Hero Arts has his own Misti stamping tool and so on. I strongly think that Lisa’s tool would be a great buy if one can stamp with it too. Thank you for your demonstration. Puerto Rico

      Hi Nina, yes this video was made when Lisa had just launched her Ulti-mate here in the UK. Since then she has brought out the Ulti-mate 2 which has a scoring board instead of the stamp platform. In the US you can only buy that version due to the issues around the MISTI, in the UK you can choose between the two.

    Hi Sharon, I really enjoyed watching your videos, it was very un- biased!
    I was wondering if the stencils would fit on either platform?
    If I’ve not made myself clear, I think I’m asking how far apart are the pegs are on the Sizzix platform and how far apart are the pegs on Lisa’s platform, because it maybe that the stencils could fit on either without using an adapter or the die? ❤

    • @sharoncurtis
      @sharoncurtis  2 роки тому +1

      No you need an adapter of some fashion as the pegs are totally different spacing.

      Hi Jan, no due to the MISTI having a US patent, the version I have is only available in the UK. The UK version doesn’t have the score board.

    Thank you. I'm glad found your channel. I was looking for info on die cutting machines. Have you heard of or used the AccuCut? It appears to be geared more towards quilters. But if I'm understanding you correctly the Sizzix can also cut material.

    • @sharoncurtis
      @sharoncurtis  Рік тому

      Yes the AccuCut is similar to the Sizzix in that it uses steel rule dies to cut. You can cut material with the Sizzix machine - the Sizzix fabric dies are called Bigz, and you can get a huge variety of designs as well as basic quilting shapes.

    • @pinkpinsofpain
      @pinkpinsofpain Рік тому

      I have an Accucut and love it! It's for paper crafters too. Accucut's die cutting machine cuts their steel rule dies and other manufacturer's steel rule dies (for example, Sizzix Bigz) with an adapter, which Accucut sells. In addition, I've cut thin metal dies (for example, Spellbinders or Sizzix) with my Accucut utilizing the Sizzix Big Shot Pro Accessory. You can't cut Accucut dies in other die cutting machines because Accucut dies are too thick.
