Here’s a tip that worked well for me to get a thick kgb lawn really quick. In my renovation I killed it off, level raked it smooth then reseeded with SS5000. Then about a month later over seeded it again w the same seed and went heavier in any washed out or lighter areas. I did start a little early and we are having a warm fall so that helped me a lot. The grass gods were on our side.
Thanks. I also used a ss5000 on my lawn. I will see what it looks like in the spring and decide on what I'm going to do. My lawn is filling itself in right now.
I really enjoyed your video. I did just about everything that you just showed in your video with the exception of the liquid treatment and was very excited to see my results. I usually start my lawn renovation in August. I live in Michigan. Everything was going according to plan, and my lawn looked beautiful. Winter has come and gone THEN the SKUNKS hit; they have ripped up my lawn from top to bottom, and they return night after night as they hunt for food. I will apply GrubX in late May, but my lawn looks terrible. Hopefully, it will come back, but I sure won't have the lawn that I was hoping for. Discouraged yes, giving up NO! I just wanted to share just because you think that you do all the right things; stuff can still happen that can derail your plan. Never had this happen before. So this year, I will have a mediocre looking lawn. I need to plan and do something so this doesn't occur again next year. Thanks for listening. Do you have any suggestions or something I may have missed?
I wouldn't wait too long for the Grubx and feel free to put down a second application later in the summer. I had skunks before too and it can be very destructive. Good luck.
I had a POA issue this summer and had to use Prodiamine this Fall so overseeing will have to wait. I am planning on leveling with a sand/soil mix in the spring so I'll do a video on that.
Those humid nights are difficult to manage. I'm not an expert on disease control yet, never really had too many issues. But I'm always trying to learn so I'll keep my ears open for some strategies.
@@nextleveldiy yea the humidity been brutal ...this am I put down some Scotts Disease Ex at the curative rate and I was basically kicking water from the grass while I was walking as if the lawn was just watered from my sprinklers....smh..😤
Can always spray tenacity when overseeing. It’s a pre and post emergent that allows grass seed to grow!!
Yup, I did that when I first grew this lawn but I had a POA problem this year and Tenacity doesn't really handle that.

Humic 12 and air 8 are not liquid fertilizer just for the record. They are soil supplements/ micronutrients
good tips man!
Nice video...good tips...
No over seeding or top dressing in your fall prep..??

@@nextleveldiy Good response!! I have found personally that a sand/soil mix covering has great results applied either spring or fall..👍😉
I've been fighting fungus all season long
Whats your situation like? Too wet? Is your PH ok? Do you apply fungicide? I had a few dollar spots this year.
@@nextleveldiy pH is OK....used both Propoconizole and Scotts Disease Ex....but it's been so humid in the nights here in LI NY.
