I made a deadlift platform and had my niece design a logo for me. I ordered a vinyl sticker through Echod Graphics and it turned out phenomenal! Thanks

Could you go into more detail about how you actually apply it? Do you slap it on raw wood, or do you put on a layer of poly first? Do you do any additional coating on top?
Sorry I put a light coat of spray polyurethane on mine before the sticker.

Hey Brandon, a little late but i found this shop on Etsy that will send you official team logo decals meant for cornhole boards but they'll work pretty well for a platform. I've emailed with the owner and explained to her about the platform and she's willing to do larger sizes since a cornhole board is 2x4 and customize just about anything. She's really responsive and prices are pretty good. Make sure to ask for lamination on your logo. Since i cant post a link, look for SignsAndDesignCrafts on etsy.

Your rogue platform is to big for my garage. I want to just use 1 sheet of plywood with rubber mats on the ends. That would leave a smaller area so what size logo do you recommend for that?

Very useful- I'm going to do one for our school weight room. Any tips on surface prep? Does one apply a coating over the top? Installation tips for the ham handed?
To be honest I just did a few coats of a spray poly and then put the sticker on top. Some like to brush on poly after, which you can def do as well! Check out Alan's video I linked to see what that looks like. Install was pretty simple, I just used some painters tape to measure out 6" from each side of the wood to make sure the decal would be centered.
Have you ever epoxied over it? Fiberglass and texture (like inside of handmade wooden boats)? Might preserve the logo better!

Would you recommend putting a clear coat or coat of polyurethane on top of the sticker after application for extra protection?
Some do, I haven't found it necessary.
I am in the process of doing one now and the clear coat has been a nightmare. I'd recommend trying to use it without a clear coat.
For more info, we painted the wood white and then applied the vinyl. The clear coat has a really bad yellow tinge and makes it look pee yellow. Gonna spend tonight sanding it off and hoping it looks ok after

For the 3ft x 3ft logo do you know what resolution the uploaded image was? I spent some time making logos but presume I would have to remake them in a higher resolution when actually printing. Cheers.
Mine were probably way too big, but I might shoot the guys at Echod a message, they're usually quick to respond.
@@BasementBrandon Good point, I just checked their site and they recommend 300 dots per inch, or higher. for 3ft x 3ft that would be a 10,800 x 10,800 resolution. I may have to send my design to Fiverr too to have it prepared better for printing. Thank you.

300 ppi is sufficient.
It looks like you didnt seal or poly on top of you logo. Feels like it would last longer if that was done like lines in basketball courts.
it's laminated, it's in great shape after 5 years and would prob need to replace wood before the decal.

Hey i doubt you'd see this but I saw in another video you put tape on your deadlifting platform for traction, what tape did you use or recommend? Or if anyone else sees this what do they recommend

Do you know if these decals adhere well to MDF ? Also will they print stuff just taken from the internet ?
I think it should and they should as long as it's not a copyrighted team logo or something. You can reach out to them and ask, they're pretty responsive.
is there a way to get the logo printed transparent with no background color?
You may be able to, but it's likely more $
What's the trick to applying the sticker to the platform to prevent wrinkling and air bubbles?
I just applied the top third at first to make sure it was in the right spot, then worked the sticker off. Kind of like a phone screen protector where you'll need to work out some of the bubbles.

Should. You might not have to get a wood specific decal. I'd send a message to the company, they could prob give you a better answer.
hey man , Ralely like your videos . looking for a good powerlifting bar and everything is completely sold out . I live up north in New Brunswick . I was looking at the rep fitness ex but they don't ship to Canada . was gonna ask if you knew or had any suggestions to companies or any way that could possibly ship it here ? Also just got the bells of steel flat fat pad bench , works really good if anyone is looking for a solid bench
Canada has it pretty tough right now. Best bar for the money is the bells of steel/strongarm power bar, but it's currently out of stock :(
