I totally recommend this movie. This got me so hard, I totally cried at the end, you can feel the relationships and connections of the characters that made it so real. The story was smooth and connected. Shows a very open teenager to her father. Shows how a bestfriend will be there for you and how your partner will love and accept you as what you truly. I cried HAHA!

sigh. everything, everything was actually filmed after this movie but was delayed release due to legal reasons I believe. Also Midnight Sun is a 2006 Japanese film that they're remaking so there really isn't any ripping off of everything, everything.

Just finished watching this movie. Balled my eyes out while watching this. 😭 its like watching "A walk to remember" all over again. One of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen. Amazing background music and cinematography ♥_♥ Definitely would highly recommend it. The best part was having someone to share your adventures with..💔

Taiyou No Uta is definitely a masterpiece, the female lead had experience playing an ill character from 1 litre of tears, and THAT was definitely a tear jerker.
The original film where this movie, "Midnight Sun" is based from is from the Japanese movie that came out in 2006 with the name of "Taiyou No Uta" or "A Song To The Sun". Everything Everything is indeed a book but it came out 9 years after the said Japanese film.
Midnight Sun started filming in October 2015 and was supposed to be released on either 2016 or 2017. While Everything Everything started filming in September 2016 and was released on 2017. Maybe they moved it to 2018 because of the similarity of the story with Everything Everthing. So to end it all, Taiyou No Uta came first and maybe the author of Everything Everything may have seen the Japanese film before making his book and based some parts of it from there but that is only my suspicion.
I've been waiting for this to come out a long time now since the actress in the original film, YUI, is my fave singer in Japan. I just hope that this movie will give justice to the original one and is worthy enough to have its remake.

Honestly, this is one of the Best love movie I have ever watched in my entire life. I cannot stop crying when watching it and I cannot stop watching it over and over again. Patrick & Bella were perfect for each other, I hope they will be together one day. I also hope that they will be together again in other movies.

I finally watched this film, I live/work in London and I only got time to watch this on my train rides back through the underground. I became overwhelmed with the story & teary eyed at the end. For those who don't know about London underground trains, there's also ground surfaces for a few stations. Ironically as I was watching the ending, my train went from the darkness of the underground to ground surface which radiated light to match the cynical narrative of Katie's life. I cried my eyes out at that moment.

First time I watched this trailer it reminded me of a Japanese film I watched years ago (released in 2006). I checked and this is indeed the American remake of it which I'm kind of excited for. I haven't seen Everything Everything so not sure about all the comparisons going around, but I do recommend the original movie.

It's kind of dumb to say 'stop comparing it to everything, everthing' when the two main characters have the same illness and the plot of both films focus on falling in love with the 'perfect guy'.
