    Eating whole plant diet actually "cured" my IBS by reducing its severity by i dont even know what number, but i hardly notice it anymore today and feel like im really close to what i felt before i got IBS.
    Wholegrains saved me, whole plants and beans, lentils and soy improved it, fruits made it even better. Even apples are fine for me now.
    No bloating, no diarhea, no going to toilet 5 times or more a day, no painful stols, limited pains or no pains at all.

    1) He’s correct in that fiber can be harmful. These tend to be in people whom have some bacterial overgrowth/parasite, allergy. 2) Yes fiber can improve bowel movements for many, but also for many less fiber helps. Layne screaming about RCT’s as per usual is crazy because you don’t need an RCT to determine what works. Self reported whether you take a shit is very simple. They aren’t asking simply “how do you feel after a drug” you either shit or you don’t. You can find a number of studies and people online whom all report going low fiber helped them (me being one of them at one point). Yes if you don’t have an allergy after the gut issue has passed you can add it back in but increasing fiber across the board isn’t the wise decision people think it is. Do with what your body responds best to, not what some study says

    • @charlottedawn7334
      @charlottedawn7334 Місяць тому +3

      So, the bacterial overgrowth or parasite is the problem that needs to be addressed and fixed. It is not that fiber is bad for them. The poor gut flora is the problem, which would have generally resulted from poor lifestyle choices in the first place. Fermented foods, etc can naturally help the gut flora. Fix the gut flora. It is massively important to overall health. Avoiding fiber is not the cure by any means.
      Fiber/good...parasite/bad
      Also...it was mentioned in the video about people with underlying issues, that need to be addressed, feeling better with lower fiber short term. And, that some people with food sensitivities may need to avoid certain fibers. But, restoring healthy flora in the digestive tract does wonders for people.

    As someone who has dealt with IBS-D for 20+ years, fiber is a complicated subject. On the other hand, taking a diuretic for my blood pressure has created a bit of a constipation problem. The solution for that is a bit of psyllium fiber. It's a fine line, though. Too little fiber - constipation. Too much fiber - diarrhea.

    The fact is that Layne is telling you that this guy is technically correct, but he doesn’t like the study used. Plus, he’s already had some type of interaction with him previously. Reality is most studies are funded by the group trying to prove their point or selling their product , which leads to some bias. Big Pharma and Big Food are funding most of them. Layne is well educated and a nice guy that’s well meaning. Again, he’s a businessman selling his products…he sells supplements, training programs, nutritional advice and merchandise. All under the guise of “Science backed” just like the other thousands of online fitness people. So in the end, use all this free information to make informed decisions in consultation with with your doctor in case you have some medical conditions that might be affected.

    I did have anal bleeding (infrequently) on a plant based diet, along with with chronic constipation for 40 years. Since going low carb 6 months ago I have had neither. That doesn't mean everybody will have those problems. But my anxiety also reduced a great deal in the last 6 months. I still hav ea little fibre but not much.
