Dom you should do a top 5 or 10 of your favorite nba players of all time or just maybe just a video about your favorite player ever but other than that I’m ready to watch this A1 video
NBA2K13 was my first 2K, the soundtrack was amazing, I absolutely loved being a trash 9 year old in MyCareer. Today's MyCareer should be like that one. AHH, the menu, KD and LeBron spinning the basketballs. 2K13 has too much to it, you underrated this one. The features were definitely a 10/10 though.
Dom I wanna defend 2k13 by saying that it was fun for me and I’m guessing other people because of the memories playing against friends. So we wouldn’t run into a lot of these gameplay problems because playing friends there’s no cherry picking allowed or 131 zones allowed obviously. And dunks aren’t too bad bc we don’t allow each other to use the heat and there are some players besides lebron in the game that can dunk like crazy but it makes for some fun poster moments. And I personally love how the 3 ball is pretty hard to defend because it makes for some crazy moments down the stretch and you can actually play isolation and shoot a jumper without it being heavily contested which is something you can never do in other games that really annoys me. And we never run into the overpowered cpu problem obviously because we’re playing each other.
One thing that I loved about My Career was that whoever you played for, they would ask you what player you would want to play along with. I’m not sure if this was a thing for other 2ks but I recall being on the Blazers and requesting Rudy Gay to play with the team. Having a lineup of PG: Lillard SG: Me SF: Gay PF: Aldridge C: Hickson Which was a really solid lineup.
@@jakelang806 I remember having a team in the New Orleans Hornets of Pg: Stephen Curry Sg: Me Sf: Alfaruq Aminu Pf: Anthony Davis C: Ryan Anderson 6: Eric Gordon 7: Austin Rivers 8: Robin Lopez 9+: Cant remember Man those were some good times. I remember grinding Mycareer every daily on 12 minute quarters for hours a day. Mycareer and Creation of a Legend
I think the fact that HOF was so hard/cheesy was what made My Career so much fun in 2K13 - I remember having a crazy rivalry with OKC, especially in the Playoffs when we ran into them in the Western conference finals every year, I played 4 seasons and lost against them twice, in my third season we were destroyed 4-1 and I remember thinking that they were just unbeatable as KD, Westbrook and Harden were all rated in the 90s and Ibaka was like 89ovr, but the next year we managed to win in game 7, and every game we played against them was close. The fact that the game was so easy (and it having the best controls of any 2K) combined well with how difficult HOF was was what made it so fun. Both teams would be shooting like 60-70%, KD and your My Player would be shooting between 70 and 90%, super unrealistic I know but a lot of fun. My Career has never been able to recapture this and IMO never been as good as it was then. I also think the fact that you could only have 5 signature skills is one of the most underrated aspects of this game and almost acted like a class in COD. E.g. in playoff games i would go proper try hard and make sure to have Floor General, Defensive Anchor, Dimer and Closer on, while in regular season games when i wanted to have fun, i'd be running with things like Ankle breaker, Alley Ooper, Shot creator, Deadeye. It also mixed it up a little in blacktop where variety in play-styles came from not just what position you were but what Signature skills you used.
@@DerrickG35 I've stopped playing My Career in the newer 2Ks as I refuse to buy VC and playing on harder difficulties with a 70ovr is no fun as you get blown out by the CPU and your My Player can't do shit. If I play on lower difficulties then i can actually play well but our team will blow out the CPU and it is boring
Adam da great215 if 2k19 is hard you’re probably just bad or don’t have a good enough player the first week I had the game yeah the defense was op but now it’s not that bad
The kinect was one of the most annoying features in the history of 2k. It had a feature that if you said any form of profanity, you'd get called for a technical foul. Even if you didn't swear, the kinect did a really nice job of calling them anyways. One time in MyCareer, I was a steal away from my first ever triple-double and I fouled out in the middle of the steal because the kinect thought I swore and gave me a technical. I've still never been madder at a video game's computer since.
Came to comment this, the most infuriating thing. I don’t think I ever actually got called for a tech for swearing, only words like “the” and “pass” and “ball” gave me a tech...
My first 2k was 10 but I when i got 2k 13 Christmas I was 9 in 2012 I fell in love with 2k franchise and to this day I still love 2k today mainly thx to Chris smoove maid 2k legendary
This was by far the best 2k I played. The music was great, the gameplay was refined from 2k12 and the controls were by far the greatest from any 2k. I hate using shot stick and the controls made it a little more button friendly, so people had the choice of using button or shot stick instead of being forced into one. I put a lot of time in this 2k in comparison to others and was the one I went back to for years until 2k16 was out. This 2k was the best, control-wise, however, 2k12 will remain the greatest 2k.
What I really loved about this game is how you can do certain controls to trigger certain dunks. Not like now where we just have one hand, two hands, and flashy
Osasupah BRUHHH i remember the first time that shit happened to me. dude had the Rockets and he kept doin the same shit with James Harden & i couldn't stop it no matter what.... then i figured out how to do it, i aint gon lie i won a few close games wit it lol
2k13 bro, the game felt so smooth, the online didn’t feel clunk and laggy, it was a fun game. i wish i played it more, cuz what we have now...is unacceptable.
People really out here thinking 2k13 better than 2k11. I understand some people’s argument but the main fact is that half of the people that play 2k today didn’t experience 2k11 when it first came out in all its glory on last gen.
I miss the controls for that game. Using the B button to do hop steps and stepbacks, and double tapping B to do spin layups/jumpers, or 360 dunks while sprinting was dope as hell. This was also the last game where when you held the r stick down while sprinting towards the basket made you do a reverse dunk. Nowadays you barely do reverse dunks cause holding the r stick makes you do any flashy dunk. You could also customize your floater, which they took out for some reason
Lil Dagga op teams Lakers (Mike Brown as coach) Heat Clippers Warriors Timberwolves (made 1st seed multiple asso. files) Thunder Spurs Celtics Knicks 76ers Nuggets (pretty much same as clippers) Nets
When i played 2k13 i almost never played online i was 13 when i had that game and didn't have much, just fortunate to be able to have a game on a working system. I def thought it was the best 2k ever, my nostalgia still tells me that. But the CPU on MyCareer was so good i thought I was suppose to lose. I never raged but i would get mad several times.
I had this on PC and mostly played My Career on my laptop or vs friends in college, wired 360 controllers and hdmi/vga cables in my laptop bag so i could hookup to a tv and literally play anywhere. It was heavily modded, realistic faces, tattoos, sneakers, etc...so this is still my favorite, i had a blast.
It was the best 2k experience for me by a MILE. Mycareer was still fun, mycareer blacktop>>>>> park, online association was amazing, controls were on point w the right stick, the gameplay was the most fun to me even with the cheese, had one of the best soundtracks, and the roster was amazing/ the league was in a great place
My favorite 2k. I understand why they put in vc, considering it was an extra way to make money, but I loved how it was optional. It was still possible to grind to 99 without buying any and it felt so rewarding. I hate how nowadays you have to buy VC otherwise you’ll be stuck at 55-65 overall forever
NBA 2K12 was the greatest game in 2k series in my opinion because i was just only 9 years old when i played that game and that is my favorite nba 2k game of all time and i was a "noob" at that time when it was release and i am 16 years old now. I still got the copy of nba 2k12 in my dad's laptop but now i got my own ps4.
Lol this 2k had a a lot of cheese but it was one of my favorites..euro step 3s, spin dunks, etc I use to kill ppl with the 1-3-1 zone too..the last game to have it
Something i miss from older 2ks, what that you turn on an option to see only your shotback but also the CPUs, it was pretty interesting to see the feedback on a shot the CPU took while you defended. But they took it off, likely because it'll show the cheese of the CPU constantly hitting contested shots. I don't think it was 2k13, it was probably taken out by then
I remember if u ran to the side of a three point line with a player who had acrobat and double tap square the ball would go in no matter what because acrobat would activate on the shot
2K13 will forever be the greatest 2K idk what anyone says. Best soundtrack of any sports game ever. Last 2K with good animations that felt realistic at the time. The graphics were good for their time. The menu was AMAZING. So many more options when you go into the settings. Best MyCareer in the entire franchise ever. The best draft class in a while allowed for an amazing start to your career and almost unlimited replay.
Other than the game breaking features. This 2k has the best shooting controls of any 2k. The way you could hit a few moves then do a step back in one fluid motion was under appreciated. Especially since now doing some same moves are very choppy
I agree Dom yeah this game had its flaws but the soundtrack, intro, rosters, blacktop, All Star Weekend and simple yet detailed MyCareer were all arguably my favorite out of any game.
I will say i have this game and there is no contest system and i usually play a lot with the bigs so i when someone drives to the lane i usually get a block i have played this game a lot and i only have one block if someone is going for a dunk you might as well forget about blocking it because there just no way how and but the gameplay is smooth and the replays always get my hype plus the greatest soundtrack ever created so i gave this game a 8/10 not the best but not the worst either
Viktor Bratan OH YES the east ALWAYS had home advantage in game 1,despite how perfect your record was in the west. That is only the beginning of the amount of cheese this game had
I pretty much only play 2k in person against my friends and for that reason 2k13 is my favorite. All the cheese led to crazy easy scoring so in person it allowed for my friends and I to have a lot of fun and run the scores up on each other. I scored like 86 points with Durant with 6 min quarters lol
2k13 was the last great 2k. It's all good to have your opinion. But it is what it is. They need to go back to the 2k11 - 2k13 series and remodel the game from that series. I know you're a 2k11-12 guy, but it was so Michael Jordan it was kind of cheesy. Coming from someone who has owned almost all of the 2ks since 2k3(AI cover) I can easily say, 2k11-13 was the best. No pay to play, realistic gameplay, fun two stick gameplay with legends tutorials. 2k14 was a downgraded 2k13 with the park, which was garbage. Why would you wait a loading screen to go wait like if you were in an actual park, stupid shit ever. 2k15 was the beginning of unrealistic ball. It is so bad. But to be fair I refused to buy the last two 2ks so I might be missing out. But the pay to win style cash grab garbage, yeah I'd rather just play older ones or other games. No thanks 2k for now.
2k13 had the legends training camp. You just had to purchase the camp of which legend you wanted to learn from and you had up to two or three camps you could participate in for the season
You fool.. NBA 2k13 is their best one to date.. you'll notice their game has used the same engine since 13.. just updated graphics for new gen consoles but several of the animations were the same from 13-16
We're done with the last gen versions of 2K! Gonna have a lot of fun doing the rest that are on current consoles.

Remember how easy it was to get steals against the ai by forcing it to inbound to the sg and catching the inevitable pass to the pg?
Cian McCabe Yup LoL
I remember if u ran to the side of a three point line with a player who had acrobat and double tap square the ball would go in no matter what because acrobat would activate on the shot
2K13 will forever be the greatest 2K idk what anyone says.
Best soundtrack of any sports game ever.
Last 2K with good animations that felt realistic at the time.
The graphics were good for their time.
The menu was AMAZING.
So many more options when you go into the settings.
Best MyCareer in the entire franchise ever. The best draft class in a while allowed for an amazing start to your career and almost unlimited replay.
I respect your opinion but still nba 2k13 is the most cheesiest and overrated 2k of all time.
Other than the game breaking features. This 2k has the best shooting controls of any 2k. The way you could hit a few moves then do a step back in one fluid motion was under appreciated. Especially since now doing some same moves are very choppy
That VC glitch doe...... 😳🔥
Plugg 4x skill point 😭
I love you Dom but saying 2K12 had a better soundtrack than 2K13 is absolutely blasphemous
Who else remembers the MyTeam GOATs Austin Rivers and Orlando Johnson??
This was my favorite 2k because of the Creating a Legend mode. I love everything about that game mode
This is the game that got me into 2k hard core!!!!
another great video this series is lit
This game might not have been “good”, but damn was it fun. And at the end of the day isn’t that all that matters with video games?
Not anymore
respect for you keeping it real, my man. I loved 2k13 but I will admit alot of it was from nostalgia. i respect your placement 100 percent
not saying i agree with it though. 2k13 is still my favorite 2k ever, but I understand your perspective
This 2k had the best soundtrack and the gameplay was good and smooth
I went back to this. It is my favorite 2K game and probably the last considering how current games are.
“You can’t block dunks in mid air “ Who tf cares. A play that happens a dozen times a year. The game plays incredibly.
Man I love this series, keep it up!
Better than 2k17
Coolhands444 17 was dukie
The consistency with these videos bro good work Dom
Don’t forget about the intro too 🔥🔥🔥
Johnathan Bravo one of the best intros ever, hands down. Russell Westbrook used to get me soo fuckin hyped!
And 5 years later I still play 2k13
I love your 2k rankings, all your videos really not just these... but you gotta take an L for this one fam.
Man i love your channel keep up the great work
Still waiting on Greatest playoffs series Part 3 ...
Viktor Bratan OH YES the east ALWAYS had home advantage in game 1,despite how perfect your record was in the west. That is only the beginning of the amount of cheese this game had
I still play this game from time to time, the dunk cheese is crazy
This is my favorite 2k 😫
2k13 got me into 2k, so it holds a special place in my heart regardless of how bad I felt it was
2K11-13 were the best
Realll
I pretty much only play 2k in person against my friends and for that reason 2k13 is my favorite. All the cheese led to crazy easy scoring so in person it allowed for my friends and I to have a lot of fun and run the scores up on each other. I scored like 86 points with Durant with 6 min quarters lol
2k11-13 are the goats
Been waiting for this one
The left trigger shot feature was legendary, don’t know why they did away with it
My faveorite 2k and my first. I loved it 😁
Same
Just went and liked the 2k12 video. This series is great, thanks!
But the sooouundtrack thoooooo
2k13 had the legends training camp. You just had to purchase the camp of which legend you wanted to learn from and you had up to two or three camps you could participate in for the season
People used to ball hog on blacktop online😂😂😂
Shannon Sharpe they still do
It really is amazing that dribbling in 2k used to be so basic. We went from the 60s to the 90s with one gameplay change.
i have a dissatisfaction with you after watching this video
Same. Niggas dumb
This use to be my game I miss 2k13.
You fool.. NBA 2k13 is their best one to date.. you'll notice their game has used the same engine since 13.. just updated graphics for new gen consoles but several of the animations were the same from 13-16
PowderHeight it's called an opinion, people have them sometimes
