fAlling in love with someone can be scaRy and confusing bEcause it requires a lot of vulneraBility. you aRe asked to put yourself out there And often risk rejection. it is this fear that often causes us to oVerlook a simple concEpt, communication. communication is the foundation of any healthy relationship, romantic or otherwise. falling in love and being able to communicate requires bravery, especially if you are in the queer community.
i understand that being able to communicate your feelings is situational. sometimes honesty is not the best policy, especially for queer people who are not out or not in the safest environments. so while i can’t ask you to always be honest, i do hope that you allow yourself to fall in love.

Let's flip that around. How many straight women have the hots for gay men, that they know are gay, and somehow, they think they are women enough to turn the gay guys straight? It's as simple as; we desire something we see in someone else. For a woman wanting to have a gay guy; they see all the softer, more emotional, tender, communicative, sensitive side to gay men that is lacking in straight men. And in the gay men, they see the more masculine (as society defines it), strong, socially idealistic, fearless, side of the straight man, and it is a trait they often feel lacking, and creates a desire to have, and to be.
@5139 It's very rarely I've seen women fall for gay guys to be honest, and even more rare with an openely gay man. Most women (regardless of what the feminist progressives might say) like a masculine man(not sayiing gay men can't be masculine but they are more feminine of average compaired to straight me)
The sexes have different sexual systems, stemming from thousands of generations of evolutionary influence, and these differences play out in meaningful ways. genes. This is why women, on average, are more selective about their sexual partners, preferring those who possess status and resources that will benefit them and their future offspring. Back in the day, if these resources were of poor quality or inconsistent, this would threaten a woman’s survival and the survival of her children. Being less choosy about sexual partners could also result in raising a child without the help of the father, who could otherwise provide material resources in addition to emotional support and physical protection. In response, men have evolved to be highly competitive in order to be attractive to the choosiest (and, therefore, highest value) sexual partners. women are very selective about who gets to fertilize that egg, and men need to be competitive in order to get access to this precious resource.
This does not apply to homosexuals because their brains are wired a bit differently due to lesser exposure to testosterone in the utero than a typical male has had. .neuroscientific studies have shown that the brains of gay mens are partially feminized due to lower exposer to prenatal testosterone. and lesbians are partially masculinized due to a higher exposer that a typical female. Greater exposure to prenatal testosterone is also associated with attraction to women, aswel as male-typical interests and behaviours, regardless of whether the baby is male or female. The organizational effects of hormones on the fetal brain prior to birth have permanent effects.
When it comes to heterosexuality which is the vast majority of the male and female population( Most genetic males are attracted to females (ie, gynophilic) and most genetic females are attracted to males (ie, androphilic.) ) you have to strip away all the new societal misconnceptions about male and female sexuality and look only at the biology like with all animals. An organism exists to propagate its genetic material, and this is the sole “meaning” of its existence biologically.
Women have also evolved to attract men in beauty standards like waist to hip ratio, houglass figure, youthful appearance, beautiful-possessing symmetry, smooth, clear skin, and shiny hair- full lips and high cheekbones are a sign of facial femininity, linked with higher levels of estrogen and fertility. etc.which is why the beauty industry is a billion dollar industry. Men have evolved to prefer partners possessing observable qualities indicative of both high fertility (able to produce healthy offspring) and high reproductive value (able to have many children) The mate preferences of one sex will determine the characteristics that are passed on in the other sex. For example, our female ancestors preferred male partners who could offer physical protection to them and their young, which is why greater height is generally seen as an attractive trait in men.
Masculinity has been unfairly pathologized. Successful mating consists of attaining a partner with good genes so that one’s offspring will survive and be successful at passing on their lineage. Men’s behavior is, to some extent, the result of female sexual preferences. If women didn’t want to mate with masculine men, these traits would have been removed from the gene pool long ago. It’s a case of feminists the lady doth protest too much. “Toxic masculinity” is the result of women’s sexual preferences over thousands of generations. A study found that women prefer men who exhibit benevolent sexismsexism over those who do not, despite also finding these behaviors undermining and patronizing. Benevolent sexism consists of chivalrous behavior, such as opening doors and paying for dates, and positive attitudes about women that reinforce the belief that women are less competent, relegating them to traditional gender roles. (This is in contrast to hostile sexism, which involves overtly misogynistic views.) Regardless of whether women endorsed high or low levels of feminist beliefs, they interpreted signs of benevolent sexism as signals that a man is willing to invest in them through an ability to provide, protect, and commit to them. The positives associated with this behavior outweighed the negatives. From a brief survey of my straight male friends, the more progressive and feminist a woman proclaims she is, the more she prefers dominant, masculine men.

Being homophobic is not always something the person being homophobic acknowledges. Or even sees in them self. Homophobia is not always a conscious thing. It is more about what you do and say, even when you would never admit to being homophobic. Therein is why even a gay person can do and say homophobic things.

Just move on, but stay friends. Even if he were interested, you don't need to deal with his drama. You have enough of your own to deal with. If he can't communicate with you that he's interested, like an adult, then it's not going to work. It isn't the goal of love to live in a soap opera.

You may just try to accept his affection and close friendship for now, and be grateful, as you said, that you didn't lose him like so many other friends. If you treat him with the same affection and continue the bff relationship, and start to show interest in other guys, he will definitely let you know one way or another, if he does have deeper feelings for you, because that will likely make him jealous. He may make his move finally, or distance himself so he doesn't have to be hurt by seeing you with another boy. But either way, you'll know and you can talk to him then!
