I got Race for Germany accidentally. I was doing a mass SPG game with the Soviet Union (all infantry division with two light SPGs), and it took me until March 1945 to capitulate Germany. The Allies had such a bad game the achievement popped out.
As a Native Hungarian (known as Hungol), I can say that Szakasits Árpád is not the worst name I saw in history. It was Csörgősi Gyöngyvirág. (But you can pronounce Árpád's name like this: "Erpad Sacashich".)

I got this achievement by mistake. I was playing the USSR and I figured out I could get this by like 1940, then Japan joined and almost took north Sakhalin I sent 2 tank divisions and spammed the life out of last stand on that tile lol. They froze to death but I got the achivement.

In most of my games AI Germany can't stop allied invasions happening in Belgium, Hannover and Pommern. Even if I help them mop the allies back out, they just can't defend their ports. Also, mr. Smitler keeps declaring more wars he can't fight, so his troops get even more spread out.

Race for Germany kind of requires either, majestic skill by the soviet player, or requires a REALLY weird early war or something, which will probably require historical focuses off to pull off, I think I got it accidentally from a weird '39 war. Also, ironically: I got the achievement in a game where I was going for no step back, and I ALSO, accidentally gave away Sakahlan because I wasnt paying attention. XD
The triggers are probably: - Event for the armistance upon French surrender has fired/or France is a surrendered nation -any country in de allies: does not control any state on which Germany has a core.
I don't know if this is a well knowed thing and if it this than.. ok But when you play the soviets and you go down the right opposition path you can do a focus that increase your chances to assassinate Stalin. If you rush this focus and the one to unalive him quickly you can switch without a civil war wich allows you to keep Toukhatchevski. You can also put Rykov in charge who gives you an absolutely crazy economy. That path is insanely op cuze you get no Stalin debuff and keep everything Stalin hasn't purged yet + a crazy economy. Just wanted to say this if you want to try it or something and didn't know about it. Good video btw👍
It's great when it works but it's pretty annoying when the game decides your 80% chance of killing Stalin fails and you can't save scum since the game decides if you succeed or not at the beginning, then it ruins the entire game.
What I did in my game for anyone who wants this achievement and sees this. Instead of early war Poland I early war turkey that way I get turkey and Romania as puppets. You get half of Poland anyway with Molotov Ribbentrop pact and with his plane Strat it’s literally too easy you lose like 2 polish states when the war starts but you shred their airforce so fast that they can’t get CAS. If you do what I did you can get the Soviet onion in that game too
my fav soviet strat is putting on ahistorical then when germany goes into its civil war, you can declare war on germany and eat half of their country, which also makes it easy to invade the rest of germany

I actually got the race for Germany achievement completely on accident. I was playing just a normal soviet game but the allies at so many rocks that I literally had to solo ww2. the one time the stupidity of the ai actually benefited me.

Puppeting Germany as the Soviet Union is not to hard Just make sure you loose the spanish civil war (ofcourse also get rid of the purge asap) Try doing focusses to improvere your army and gain stablity meanwhile, when the army is less or more done you want to get rid of the negative air nerfs. Focus on reinforcing rather then spamming half dead units. build a lot of civ factories and military factories in around '39. Try putting a LOT of military factories on fighters, it should have the second priority after infantery equipment Get the baltics, finland, part of romania as early as possible, Accept the molotov- ribbentrop pact Make a strong army group and place it at your border with Germany but don't put all troops on it, if you get air superiority then thats very very helpfull. After the frontline has stabilized place the reserves on it too and go offensive whenever you outnumber germany (should be done pretty quick after you destroy its airforce with Just better designed planes) Keep spamming divisions untill you run out of man and keep Just sending them at the enemy. (If you doubt when to go offensive, when the Uk lands in italy you want to start to ensure you got enough time)

I got it accidentally when the allies never did d-day and instead got bogged down fighting in Italy and a naval invasion in Romania for some reason
