      Saying Trump is the enemy of democracy is just the latest attempt to take him down.
      They have tried impeachements, saying he was a racist then a misogynist, then the courts and now enemy of democracy, which our lefty socialist Prime Minister in Canada is going to use to create fear when he campaigns for re-election in Canada.

    I lived near Youngstown the year Trump was elected. I’ve more or less lived my whole life among people who would be the typical Trump voter. SO many are lifelong JFK era democrats.
    My father in law was a union railroad worker-lifelong Democrat. My in laws voted for Obama once, abstained his second turn, wrote someone in 2016, and we think they secretly voted for Trump in 2020. I suspect they’ll vote for him again. My grandpa was similar.
    We moved to a coal mining, single industry county in 2018. The whole county was historically blue-THE ENTIRE COUNTY flipped red in 2016. It was one of the highest per capita Trump supporting counties in the state and possibly country.
    It’s crazy. But this class of people genuinely felt overlooked and abandoned by their own party.

    100,000 people in a low popular state voted the way they thought was right. DeSantis should have stayed in like Regan did instead of quitting. @@23wtbTrump allowed the states the right to shutdown or not! You are suppose to call your Governor, protest and march. The printing of the money comes from Congress. They control the purse string. Trump wanted a budget and it got voted down. We asked for a budget from Congress and they never gave him one. I guess you didn't see the Senator that said that if Trump Veto a spending bill they were told to punish him. The leadership (Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell told them to override it any way. So, you would probably have a larger deficit if it was for Trump negotiating it down. Trump cut a trillion dollars off the deficit when he first came into office. If Trump vetoed all the spending bills, Congress would have easily punished like Martin Van Buren and Andrew Johnson, who were one termers.Congress would have shutdown all Trumps projects and turn him into a lame duck. All a president can do is veto which he did on the last spending bill. Trump isn't FDR who had a large voter base to pull off all those vetoes.

Watch the liberals cry, that sort of thing. And while I get it, and enjoy some of this myself, I know that it's not good for social cohesion. Trump's divided the Republican party due to how viciously he went after DeSantis and anyone who endorsed him. I am absolutely certain he will not get the same amount of Republican votes in 2024 that he did in 2020, he has alienated so many. It remains to be seen if he can convince enough independents to break for him to make up for the loss. His bullying may have been popular when it was directed at the left, not when it's been directed as some of the most accomplished and well liked conservatives in the party.

    It's very simple: DeSantis tried to run a grassroots campaign and ignore media. This is what Trump *says* he himself does, except that he's an absolute media darling--they can't get enough of the guy, even if they pull his pigtails. He's in and on media constantly, while complaining about the media. DeSantis didn't realize how stupid people are, and how much they rely on media, even while they say they hate the media. DeSantis is the guy who has been actually pursuing the campaign that alt-media, alt-media consumers, and MAGA folks have been *saying* they want: anti-woke, anti-DEI, anti "corporate citizenship," anti-groomer, and electoral reform. The problem is, that people don't deserve good leadership. You put the high-protein, healthy, fulfilling meal in front of them, and if there's a pile of salty MSG-laden slop next door, that's where they're going.

      Yes.
      Trump cannot take any critique at all and the second he was POTUS worked to destroy every GOP congressional/senate rep by finding a sycophantic primary challenger so he could make the whole party a cult of personality
      It demonstrably worked, they are still endorsing him after a massive election loss and the maturity of a 3 year old to go "NahNananana I cant hear you, I won the 2020 election nanana"

    There are only 2 things that would turn me against Trump... choosing Nikki Haley as VP... and, returning to the wishy-washy ways of his last Presidency... this is his last opportunity to get it right so take it.

    • @TheHivefl
      @TheHivefl 5 місяців тому

      This is his only path. He is wishy washy. He will talk lots of shit, but the moment there is an actual very difficult decision to be made he will be wish washy. His worst fear in the world is too look bad. Anytime the right thing and easy thing are presented he will choose the latter. That is ultimate issue with Trump and why he is not a leader. His actions demonstrate this again and again. He can’t take a sideline to achieving the mission. His ego,antics, and lack of discipline are horribly distracting. I wish it were different, but again we know what we are getting. His word means nothing to me after nearly 8 years of his actions doing something different.
