Hi, just found your videos. I am a Questioner, with Rebel tendencies. I have no problem doing what I have to do if the need is there, but will resist doing what others want me to do generally. My favorite days are no obligation days when I can waste time going down rabbit holes that slow my productivity down. I still feel guilty that I am this way, because society places a huge premium on productivity, but honestly my Ti hero thanks me for being this way.

The paradox of how we get out energy, right? It's an endless journey of figuring out how to make life work for us.

INTP questioner here. I originally thought I was an obliger but I'm not. I think what I do is what Gretchen says about turning outer expectations into inner expectations so then I will meet them. It works like this. I hate conflict and would do almost anything to avoid it, so if failing to meet someone else's expectation would result in conflict, even if I don't want to do the thing, I most likely will do it because the need to avoid conflict (which benefits me) outweighs having to do something I don't want to do of itself. That is, my inner expectation to do whatever it takes to avoid conflict becomes the expectation rather than the outer expectation that I will do the thing. Not sure if I have explained it very well, so I hope that makes sense.

I think this is me too! I thought I was an obliger.
Where can we do the test?

I've bounced counter clockwise through different times in my life starting at the rebel. Perhaps through a growing awareness over time. Productivity escalates fast when pressure is low, more in a rebel state. However, I can pull off the other placeholders, but find myself deeply unfulfilled at a core level, thus leading to a tremendous burnout. The perpetual all, or nothing conundrum. Thanks for the video, certainly worth pondering.

Appreciate it! 😎 🤘🏼 💜 As we learn more about ourselves we can navigate our own tendencies better and in a sense, get out of our own way.

I just find out I'm a rebel too and that explains why sometimes looks like there's two of me inside my head, the one who plans and the other who is responsible for doing things and they DON'T get along lol thank you for the video

😂 Sarah, such a good way of putting it. I feel the same way. I'm having to actively not plan things because I know I'll rebel. What a mind trip. 😂

My motivation is to create inner harmony and to create an environment that supports my inner harmony. I think my Si just wants to create a safe space for myself.

That makes sense! I love that expression. What aspects of your environment help for creating that harmony?

This is 100% awesome. And so accurate for me to. When I've seen this a bit before I knew I leaned more on intp rebel as well and also helped me understand like a different version of the intp type. Not the stereotype for sure. While I am in alot of ways I easily would be thrown into entp and I am a 5 but also ors 5w4 so a bit of a twist there. Which is how an infp maybe could he seen but its not all about my being. This is good stuff. I'm the same way and blows my mind 🙃 hearing someone else. As usual thanks for sharing your story. Legit.

My pleasure! Realizing my rebel tendency has thrown me off but explained a lot. I'm so glad it's helpful! We're wonderfully complicated as individuals and it's important to honor that.

Almost certainly an Obliger (maybe with Rebel tendencies). Inner Expectations are great in the beginning (hello, novelty), but quickly phase out. I'd love to do the dishes every day. Is it happening? No. Told myself last night that I'd give myself $1 to spend on sushi every day that I clean the dishes. We'll see how this goes...

Hi. Listened for awhile, first time caller. No idea where I fall in these quadrants; but, I have on several occasions told people in my life including bosses, "I have this bad habit of doing whatever the eff I want" or "I'd much rather have my problem than your solution". Conclude whatever you want, since that's what's going to happen anyway, right?
As long as we're differentiating among INTPs I'm wondering if you could take a look at career. Specifically, does tech work/programming stunt INTP development. I'm thinking maybe growth, especially emotional growth (Fe) isn't well served by that kind of profession even though it is unquestionably the stereotypical INTP career path. I wonder how different INTPs were before the PC revolution. I'm betting we were much more well-rounded on average.

    • @TheINTPProblem

Is that helpful for you to know that?

    • @heavenavatar2911
      @heavenavatar2911 3 роки тому

@@TheINTPProblem I would say yes. For a type that struggles with productivity it is always good to know what motivates you. Also every bit of self knowledge can be extremely helpful when trying to be the best version of yourself. I am an enneagram nine so I tend to try to merge with my environment which is quite critical when you have such a different approach to most things than most other people. As an enneagram nine it is also a bit scary to text with someone I don’t really know right now.
Even when trying to figure out your Mbit type it can be helpful to know this model, because for example I struggled to find out whether I am an INTP our INTJ at the beginning, because if I want to I can definitely get something but if it’s only well I should but I’m not really convinced it’s a lot harder.
