We stayed in Poulton for 2 weeks at The Granery in Highbank farm when we came over from Canada in July it was perfect. I didn't want the kids to experience a Blackpool B&B on Central Drive or anything to close to town. I did consider Lytham but Poulton is slightly cheaper and I agree with you Stephen, probably a little more swankey. We went to the pork shop it was fantastic, I missed the Bass, I ended up in spoons most nights can't beat a cheap meal and a $2 pint, a pint here is £8 so I don't get out much.
That shop where you got the pies looks great and what you bought looked really nice and good quality, you can't beat a good pie, Poulton looks like a nice little town, never been but now I have watched your video I will visit next time I'm in the area, another enjoyable vlog Stephen, much appreciated 👍

Aww man, I began drinking Bass in my teens way back in the late 80s, but it slowly began to disappear until it was no more. I think it must be 30 years since I last saw Bass on draught (being in Northern Ireland where literally nowhere has had it for decades) and I can only get it now in bottles from Asda. When I'm back in Blackpool I must hit that Saddle bar you mentioned. Was really cool to see the Bass draught pump again though....
We moved from Manchester to Poulton a year ago. Walking distance into the town, and love the place. Thatched House is our favourite pub. Glad the Draught Bass was up to standard.
Thanks Stephen. Poulton-le-Fylde looked nice, bet it looks even better on a sunny day, nice church and some nice looking buildings there. I'd pass on the pie though 😂couldn't imagine eating a pie with cheese in it, steak and kidney every time for me. Glad you enjoyed your pint of bass, once the highest selling beer in the UK, amazing how tastes change over the decades.
Stephen, were do I start? Let's begin at the begging. When I used to take the bus out of Blackpool, circa 1962, to play about with boats at Skipool Creak. Poulton was then the back of beyond of everywhere. Even given it's proximity to town, you wouldn't for a minute today, think it was ever such a backwater. Some years later, a couple of decades perhaps, I ended up living in Poulton. Drinking in the Bull would have only been once or twice. It was never a popular watering hole. The Golden Ball, aka the "Lacquered Nacker" slightly more so. But the Thatched, oh goodness me! I drank enough Bodingtons bitter in there that would have floated a battleship.
Lovely in Poulton Le Fylde St Chads Church always looks spectacular in spring with their Crocus displays The Pork Shop 😋 is fabulous I used to call in for pies on a Thursday for a lady I used to do home visits for & Custards for myself to take back home Great video Stephen 👍🏻 Apologies for mentioning the Crocuses I’m only just catching up 😂 £4.25 for a pint of Bass You are in Poulton Le Fylde don’t you know 🤣
