The chisels have definitely helped me get to a higher level, and just having more tools to choose from in general! Having the right tool for the job is game changing 😊
Hey!! You been holding out on us! Ummm….snow and Nami looks younger?? And now your into dentistry too!! Great amazing craftswomanship Tay! Thumbs up everyone 👍👍👍. Liked your music too. 👍🏡
Snow Nami was definitely smaller, I loved watching the footage, that’s why I had to put it in the video! Started this bear late winter and just put the last coat of SPAR on it this past week!
Your detailing is first rate. The way you can see and execute the folds of skin, the muscles and depth of the pieces is great,It sets you apart from even some very well established carvers.
What a wonderful vlog showcasing your talent as a chainsaw carver under adverse weather conditions. Very realistic carving of a majestic grizzly bear. Loved the mostly silent photography showing the processes from log to a mighty roaring GRIZZLY! Camera work was excellent, again under frigid working conditions. The mounting really showcases his details from every angle. Bravo to you on such a wonderful carving that you fit in around so many other happenings Tay. Excellent! AMAZING as always! Blessings to you and Nami girl!!! 💛
Great video and carving!! But that is the norm for you!! I have a question about your CS1500 saw. What bar are you running and what chain? Is it 3/8 or 1/4 pitch?
I converted the saw to 1/4 pitch by using Makita’s 1/4 pitch sprocket, fit perfectly! Bar is a 14” quarter tip Cannon carving bar and just running a 1/4 chain.
It’s a 14” quarter tip Cannon bar with a 1/4 pitch chain. I put Mikita’s 1/4 pitch sprocket on it, fit perfectly! I have a dime tip but it seems to over heat every time I try running it on the electric saw, but the quarter tip runs fine 👍🏻😁
@@TayMarie23 Awesome! I too use a Makita 1/4 sprocket, but my cheap Holzfforma bars and chains keep burning up. Time to invest in a good Cannon quarter tip. Thanks again for sharing!
Of course, I would recommend getting .043 gauge instead of the .050 I have. I have a .043 on my Sthil and I like it a lot more, easier to make turns in the wood!
@@TayMarie23 Perfect. I've been using .043 bar and chain with my new sprocket. FYI; I'm making variations on your little heart bear for my grandkids. They love them!
Oh you can’t compare me to Jeff just yet! Maybe in a few years if I keep pushing hard! Funny you ask, held my first chainsaw exactly a year ago this month!
Mostly white pine, cedar when it’s available (hard to find big cedar around here), occasionally maple, cherry, poplar. But 90% of the time it’s white pine :)
I started it when I did the bald Eagle towards the end of winter and I just put the last coat of SPAR on him two weeks ago haha! Poor bear got put on the back burner several times! But yes, I’m very backlogged on footage, editing just one video can take me several full days! So between house renovations and carving I try the best I can 😂
Top east corner, Maine! I carve under two massive white oaks that attract brown tail moths, so when when they drop from the oak trees as caterpillars I get the pleasure of being their landing pad haha!
I currently live in California and I'm retiring in the next month. I do knife carving but really want to start chainsaw carving. I work for parks and am familiar with chainsaws, but not carving with them. Just cutting up fallen trees. What kind of tree wood are you using? Thanks for the fast reply. 🙂
This exact one is actually still available! I haven’t listed it for sale because I was thinking one day I would put it in our house but just never got around to it and don’t think I will any time soon! I would be honor to have it hanging in someone’s cabin where it can be loved. If you are interested shoot me an email tmcustomcarvings@gmail.com
That bear looks badass !!
He’s a big scary dude! Looks so much bigger and better in person!
im speechless. this is beyond chainsaw carving.
The chisels have definitely helped me get to a higher level, and just having more tools to choose from in general! Having the right tool for the job is game changing 😊

Una pieza bien lograda,
After you open his mouth, you will have to get another Pick-a-nick Basket. Heyyyy, boo boo. Wonderful Art as always.
Thank you 🫶🏼
what colors do you use for inside the mouth ,great job by the way
I honestly just mixed three different color spray paints, a light pink, white, and black and was able to make the shades I needed for the mouth! 😁

Why thank you 😊
Great piece! You clearly keep upping your game. I'm curious about the carving bar and chain you use on your Oregon 1500? Thanks for sharing your work.

That makes me soooo happy! Those little bears are a fun carve!
Thats just awesome detail. You rank right up there with Jeff Morh with the realism. How long have you been carving?
Oh you can’t compare me to Jeff just yet! Maybe in a few years if I keep pushing hard! Funny you ask, held my first chainsaw exactly a year ago this month!
You amazing and talented woman....
I appreciate that 💛😊

Very cool Tay! I assume this is old footage?

You have snow and lots of rain and it's beautiful there. What state are filming in where slugs and catapillars fall from the trees?
Top east corner, Maine! I carve under two massive white oaks that attract brown tail moths, so when when they drop from the oak trees as caterpillars I get the pleasure of being their landing pad haha!

Cedar when available (you should have plenty of that over west) but mostly white pine!
👍 great job 🇺🇦
Thank you!
WERE GONNA KILL THE BEAR! #namethemovie. That carving is like I'm watching the best movie of all time. 👌
Aww thank you! I still have this one, he is super cool! If he doesn’t sell soon I’m putting him up on my wall 😂
