I don't like how people say their cars are basically stock and then start listing 10 mods.
I mean, other than those mods the car is stock. 😆
@@djaric exactly
😂😂
They don't know the definition of stock lmao
Basic as in "bolt-on"
People don’t want to drive manuals cause you have to be engaged with the car. In America half the people that drive around don’t even know they are driving around with their high beams…. Let alone rev match down shift.
it's also cuz it's not uncommon to be stuck in 3 hours of stop and go daily in American cities...in japan, ppl typically drive for leisure. not commute.
@@noob.168 I hate traffic as much as the next person, but sitting in stop-go traffic in a manual is not necessarily worse than in an auto if you actually enjoy the transmission. Sure, it'll really suck doing the N-1-2-N-1 over and over with a heavy clutch, but if you're patient and don't stick to the bumper of the car in front, you can sometimes crawl without having to pop back to neutral; drive like truck drivers do. I daily an ND Miata. It a painless experience in traffic relative to the auto Mazda6 I used to drive due to how great the transmission feels. Rev match, heel toe, all the good stuff whether at 30mph or 60mph. Never a bore. Conversely, I really hated every single second in a rental GMC Terrain while my Miata was in the body shop for a while.
There's nothing wrong with opting for an auto on a sports car. If someone really want's to drive stick, they really need to be prepared to go through all the tedium, not just the fun parts. Even operating the clutch for 2 hours in traffic after your leg is cramping from leg day. :)
My buddy dyno'd his bone stock EN yesterday w/27K on the stock and it put down 277/284 w/o NGS and 284/289 w/NGS. People standing nearby were shocked😎
@@NBABY-J all the guess' were in, besides, hard to keep track of who's where. That said, we can ALL agree that the EN is THEE beast📣
Such a fun ass car!
@Nmode22 I truely look forward to getting in my car EVERYDAY 14 monthes later💯
That's awesome and all but at the end of the day, it's still front wheel drive
@Haste well yeah, what's your point?
I liked the video while watching the intro commercial. I am THAT confident in your content.
She sounds good! Love the n’s! Especially the Kona! Test drove one, loved it. Currently have a 22 limited with the 1.6T
Went into a dealership in November last year to look at a Kona 1.6T, drove home with a new Kona N instead. So glad that I did. 🤟😍
@@davidjeakins1556 can't go wrong with it, great choice! Sucks there's no 2024 version tho. I'd go with one too but since there's no 2024 Kona n, I'm going With the ev instead.
Ur the N that i keep seeing around rochester area! Amazing to see another cyber grey nearby🤝
Yes! You have a cyber grey? I've seen you a couple times driving around hahaha awesome to see you commenting 😁
Even though it's through video, but you can tell the car is pulling really nice. I had a car back in 2003 ish that was making 335 whp and 298 TQ in a 2950 lb body and it moved pretty nicely. Seems from this video that it " felt" or looked similar in how it moved.
The car believe it or not was and still is a 92 Sonata and it had a 4g63t swap, fully built motor, haltech etc etc .
At its best the car made 430 WHP on pump gas at 15 psi. The car hauled ass for what it was.
I love my sleepers lol. Still have the car and plan to rebuild it again one day soon incl AWD and 600+ WHP 😁.
Unfortunately don't have much pics and vids since all this was before any social media was going on. The cars been in storage since 2007/08 ish.
With 430 WHP which is about 500 crank, I didn't lose to many cars I ran into on the street. Lol 😁 I had a lot of fun with that car beating down unsuspecting and super surprised opponents lol 😆. I got a few vids messing around with the car , I should upload to my UA-cam.
That's a dream sleeper build
@@treyk74 It was a super fun car , I love sleepers. It was my daily driver and my summer car was an 82 Datsun 280 zx Turbo till it was stolen.
Took insurance money and dumped it into the Sonata. Then a crap load of money was spent on it while it was on the road. But was worth every penny . 500 crank HP back then was king on the streets. Not many cars had that power from factory produced cars so beating vettes and others wasn't hard lol.
Back then everyone was b16 and b18c swapping Honda civics which weren't even worth wasting gas on but still liked to put train lengths on them 😁.
Can't wait to bring her out again, cause it will be even more unique and rare than it was back 20 yrs ago. Nobody and I mean nobody had that swap and car around then few older Sonata and Elantra like mine started popping up here and there but I was original first ever 4g63t swapped Sonata out there in 1999.
You have to make a video!!! Comeback here and remind us.
Even if its not running just make one.
@@dnegel9546 for sure, I would definitely be starting a YT channel for that build or rebuild of the car, once I bring it out of storage. I have a few old night time videos of the car , some burn out video and an incar and outside view acceleration video. I been meaning to upload it here on UA-cam to have . Maybe I'll do that this week
@@Boosted00you think i could boost a 2011 elantra
love my Kona N, such a fun car to drive.
Car looks and sounds great. What kind of mic are you using to record the exhaust?
Can’t believe the car came from the factory with those burbles. Awesome!
Yeah that is ridiculous I was looking for comments to see if it was stock
@@justinlafollett9001yeah it’s stock bone stock even you’ll get burbles and pops in N mode which is crazy but mostly tuned to help keep the turbo primed in between gear shifts
5:19 the car actually keeps the valves closed in sport+ until around 2.1k rpms. It has to do with the tuning companies using Korean Avante N ECUs. It will open back up when you push the pedal down hard regardless
He gets exhaust note sound. Already doing more than Doug is willing or able to do.
With external mic you can tell when you’re accelerating aggressively car is losing grip in spite of those fat 265/35R18’s! A slightly stiffer setting and polymer motor mounts would help a good deal. I know the CN7 chassis with multiLink rear suspension is a good deal stiffer then the other Elantra’s especially the N . But, making the chassis a little stiffer will allow the suspension to work more effectively. I got a strut tower bar and lower chassis braced front to back. My N feels more solid and a little less road nose coming through the chassis. Most of all it handles much better! I now use 245/40R18 cup tires. I used to have 255/35R18 cups on but it seems to do better with the 245s

I didn’t realize how much I’d like rev matching on my N

Seen one on Highway think he had down pipe sounded pretty good for what it is
Could you list the clamp and mic you used ? :o
Nice video btw !!
I wish my Kona n sounded that good. I had the resonators deleted at 200 miles and its still not as aggressive as the EN. If I unplug the valve it gets pretty aggressive but then I can't tone it down when I pull into my neighborhood. I think the valve opens a little more on the EN to give it the more aggressive sound.
Hi! Can you tell me what do you use to record while you drive?
Thanks!
I wonder if there is a way to get all the tuning and modification one paper so i could give it to someone so they can make it for me
How your engine temp looks like cruising? , does your gauge go pass the half of your gauge after 198°
I really want to hear how this car sounds straight piped
Damn great car
that’s why i bought my 2019 civic si and never looked back amazing car love this elantra too wish my si had rev match
How do you make functional rear vents
UA-cam keeps deleting my links, but if you go to the channel we did a DIY video a few weeks back.
the whole car is just as perfect as one can be.
thank you i try
Aside from small brakes (which can be fixed of course) *BUT* at the end of the day, it's still front wheel drive, so.. not "perfect' but it's decent.
I truly miss driving a manual transmission car. I don’t care how much “faster” an automatic car is. There is nothing more fun and rewarding than rowing through your own gears.
I sold my GT350R and cheap daily, bought a DCT N. As awesome as it is, I cannot shake missing a manual. I may need to sell the N and look for another manual.
@@CarsUncoveredjust get thr fucking manual Elantra N, jesus 😂😂
But when you have 2 other sports cars with a manuals, then yea my Elantra will be an auto. Triple
Could you do a video on why you chose SXTH tune over others like LAP 3? Don't know enough about tuning to know which is better. I here LAP 3 has all the records for this brand.
i think they get a discount on SXTH stuff. They promote their products and have a discount code. Just a guess. SXTH doesn't even offer tunes for the Elantra anymore I think.
How did you add KDM spec rear vents?!
How bad is the wheel spin at that power level in say....1st and 2nd?
The audio sounds amazing!
What you thinks about these Elantra Ns?
How mach is it in yuor cuantry
with 0mile
and with walk mail
All of the 2022+11th GEN civics can fit 265 tires also which I thought was interesting
Thinking about getting one, by far nothing i found comes close in price.
My stock 340hp beast Elantra
You don't seem to be afraid to go into the redline and just keep it there for a bit.
Where did you get the vents for the rear?
In terms of performance, I love EVERYTHING about this car. The individual custom mode is fantastic! But while driving very conservatively, shifting at 3500K, accelerating very slowly, you're still getting a heavy dose of pops and bangs. I Love a great sounding exhaust, But these days it seems even if an exhaust sounds like crap, if there is constant pops and bangs, then automatically it sounds great. Definitely not the case.
I’ve heard about stock horsepower numbers (277hp) are sandbagged. Do you think this is true? If so, what do you think actual numbers are?
Someone said they put theirs on the dyno and thats about where it was at
What external mic do you have?
oh. thats waterford hills. i've probably been out there with you before. haha
I’m tryna find another daily that still has the comfortability with modern tech, but sporty feel. This is on the list of my options. My 520whp evo x is a too much sometimes. It’s gonna be a weekend car eventually. Stiff clutch, stiff suspension, and gets extremely loud when the wastegate opens is just not convenient when a lot of the times I wanna drive in peace. Either the Elantra N, Civic Si, or Mazda 3 hatchback. Definitely gonna keep whichever one I get stock lol
I would keep this car off your list.....multiple problems
@@mattsmith7379 care to elaborate what problems it has?
@DarudeOwnageZ the most important problem they have is engine failure. The second is the fact the awesome warranty they claim to have won't cover the new engine you are gonna need..
@DarudeOwnageZ oh and that's a stock elantra N no mods....you mod them they will fail sooner.
340i or 240i
I strongly believe the N has better LSD than the type r. When i had my speed3 with coilovers it cornered similarly to a type R minus the torque steer, speed3 and type r has the same LSD. I wish hyundai would break the 300hp mark and run wider fenders for 265 tires with no modification on camber.
It makes sense. From a technical standpoint, the helical LSD in the Type R is in every aspect inferior to an electronically controlled clutch type LSD found in cars like the N, M cars, GT3, SS 1LE, C8 etc. Not only do they allow varying levels of lockup, but they can vary lock between braking and accelerating too.
@williamrori1274 yo will, you think an elantra N dct can run better track times than an fl5 on same tires? I haven't seen any vids of an fl5 vs dct EN though
Ms3 forever lol
@demwillams8898 the platform is such an underrated car, too bad the engine has so many design flaws that its near unreliable lmfao. But the transmission is bulletproof.
@@commentmancommentman1658 Ehhhhh honestly all things being equal, no lol. The problem once you start modding is that straight up they can fit 285 wide tires without ANY modification, which gives them a huge advantage when modded as well :(
do you know how loud the car is with the downpipe? Is it at least under 95 dbs in normal/eco
From what the outside? Generally sound is measured in sound pressure, which does NOT correct for distance. It's something that's usually not talked about, but we did testing to SAE J1492 (the one used to test compliance in Cali) and no, it will break the 95 dBA limit in that test.
@@williamrori1274 thx :D
How did you black out the trim? Do you have a link to the product you used?
Will actually went directly to a car wrap shop, I forget how much it was exactly but thought it was a couple hundred
Random thought but... Im wondering how the 24 G70 with the 300HP engine will compare to the EN. If it even is comparable.
Slower because weight
The g70 would be gapped.
Gotta give it to Hyundai for offering such a good value in features and power...just wish Hyundai wasn't the company offering more. If the SI had more power, we probably wouldn't be watching this video.
Agreed, Honda really needs to step up the Civic SI, it's getting seriously outclassed these days
@@pattyboi the SI seems to be tuned a bit differently, which results in good midrange power, I guess you could say. The new SI is still amazing, just not 0-60.
Same... I've already bought 3 brand new Civic from Alliston Plant (where Si is built). That assemble plant builds the most durable cars I've every owned (probably do to the local parts producer). Happily, since 2.0L is NOT in the Si, I'm now enjoying my 2023 EN 6MT. I've put 21K (Kilometer) in less then 4month and it's been through some heavy winter driving. The LSD also makes it very functional for the worst snow storms here in Toronto.
@@RAY_FILET the si is trash ever since they put the 1.5t and with the new model they got rid of the "high end" features(dual climate, fog lights etc) to justify the integra price, ive also heard the 1.5t is a grenade once you try to push ~300hp+

Nice Doug Demuro shoe click when getting in the car haha. Edit: Regular Car Reviews is actually the guy who does this in every video.
Don't you mean Regular Car Review, seen it there first🤔
@klasseact6663 Yes actually. He is the one that made it popular. I actually thought to come back and correct myself, but Doug Demuro does it a few times too so I was just like ehh...haha. I edited my comment.
Lol cleans his feet off then repeatedly bangs the rev limiter lol
Stupid side question. Since this Elantra N is fairly still new, what does Hyundai say about the warranty? I have a Tiguan SEL Premium 4Motion and I just added a very mild modification and they went like nope! You can't do that or you lose your warranty. It's a kinda big deal if I get an N and drive it like it should be driven...asking for a friend...not!
If his motor blows he is going to have to pay out of pocket more than likely due to the tune.
What was your ambient temp? You managed to spin the shit out of those 265s, gotta be cold still
Says 69 on the dash
Yeah it was like 70 degrees out haha. It makes a good amount of power but it can hook in 2nd (sometimes, usually not).
It was early morning about 9am, ambient temp was around 70 but a couple hours before it was about 50 so the pavement was probably still warming up
265 aren't exactly the widest tire, so it's not super hard or anything
How did you record the in-car audio for the last scene?

Bulletproof. I think I've got like 15-20 track days on this car, most of those competitive days and tuned - hasn't skipped a beat.
What's your 0 to 60 time with that setup and MT?
2.6 seconds
@@momoknows 😂
Do these mods void the warranty?
There's no such thing as a blanket voided warranty, but yes if you're worried about getting warranty claims denied don't modify your car.
God if only this car was AWD. Only reason I can't justify getting one. I have a modified mk7 Golf R that's just shy of 400whp, and I've previously had STI's and a Focus RS. Losing traction on pulls and dealing with torque steering is just such a major turnoff. Amazingly cool cars, but not having AWD is just such a kick in the pants on performance.
Tyre pressure is low for that kind of driving. But exhaust sounds great, compared to stock
It's not. That's actually pretty close to what I aim for with hot pressure on track. Keep in mind you can't compare pressure between two wheels of different size, two tires of different size and compound etc. We've validated *our* setup with tire pyrometer, pressure, and on-track data acquisition.
I'm curious about what the DCT can SAFELY handle as far as power🤔
tuners are saying about 350 ftlb torque before slipping

@Patty Boi no lift shift is not needed if you know how to drive. Rev matching the same thing. Giving these things to people with no skill makes them think they can drive, which they can't. I learned to drive on a real wheel drive 5 spd truck in the winter and have known how to drive since 1990 due to Nascar. Giving advanced skills to lesser people who cant accomplish the task is the same problem of everyone gets a trophy
manually rev matching has to be one of the best parts about driving a manual car... auto-rev matching is :|

Nah i fee that people are just lazy and wanna be distracted while driving. Rev match is cool dont get me wrong its dope forsure. But being able to fully control your car and knowing how it reacts to certain things is the best part of driving a manual car. The N5 turbocharger you are referencing was for the Veloster N initially, and has since been completely phased out as the OEM Elantra N turbo makes more power and it's an OEM unit. But yes, it's 340whp on a Dynojet which is honestly on the lower side of what this setup can make (I have it detuned for track use). @herpderp1662 Dude, Hyundai does have a bad track record, but that's with a lot of its older cars. They also happen to be other models with vast differences. The N cars have been an exception and have proven to have an incredibly stout theta II engine. There are tons of Veloster N's with an excess of 150K miles on the road with no issues. The stock N turbo and engine has shown that it can reliably handle tuning up to 400 whp with no issues. There are even some with over 500.
