Hey, just a little correction or two, or three. Look, it may not be for you, but it actually is a true motorcycle. It was a motorcycle before current motorcycles existed. A traditional scooter has tiny wheels and the engine hangs on, or is the swingarm and there is usually a variator instead of a transmission. It's simply not a scooter. Next, Supercub sales are just past 100 million worldwide. You made a claim that it's 150 million in Asia alone. Also, from a rider of over 40 years, if it's not sub 30 degrees out, you don't need to warm it up. Your only concern with any modern bike is that oil pressure is up before riding it off, but in a modern bike, that happens in less than 5 seconds. The last point, sorry, is that you said it's "non-clutch" but it absolutely has a clutch that engages itself, ( I think you probably meant no clutch lever, but I want it to be clear to viewers so they understand the mechanics. So no lever, but yes clutch. Cheers and thanks for the great ride.
TechRidr I rode a Honda 90 step through in the early 70’s and it had the same transmission set up; shifted gears with foot without clutching, just had to turn down throttle. Loved that bike to bits. Riding a Vespa 250 now, but I really like the looks of this Honda 125, especially the larger wheels.
Thank you very much.
Rides like a motorcycle to me...
@@robertacurrell8786 isn't the Vespa a scooter?
I love big bikes, but this review was great making me reappreciate these little wonders. You've done a good job, Duke.
I located and purchased a C-125 Super Cub just 45 miles from my SLC home. I have owned many motorcycles (750cc) and mopeds and this is my favorite bike. Fitted it with luggage rack & Mountain Gear bag. This is the perfect bike for my uses. Great day tripper and commuter machine. Its first ride was from Salt Lake valley to Alta Ski Resort 4700 ft above, was 103 in valley 72 up top. Refresh.
The above bike now has 1250 miles on it in 1 1/2 months. I am averaging 152 mpg ringing the shit out of it. Bike has a nice, stable ride and tracks like a laser. Need to add some Clear Bra protection to left side cover and step thru saddle. This will prevent shoe scuffs. Added fused battery maintainer lead which was fed behind battery shield thru seat hinge & right helmet hook. Charge receptacle tucks nicely under seat edge for easy access. Keep tires pressured to 29 fr /33 r as they will bleed down. Oil is 10/30 break in, 10/40 hot & 10/30 cold.
Not a real motorcycle?! At over 100,000,000 sold, it's all the crotch rockets that are the pretenders! You were not the right reviewer for this Motorcycle.
In Australia, our Postal service fit them out with saddle bags and use them for house to house mail delivery.
I now want to be an Australian mailman
They are phasing them out, they are switching to 3 wheel electric delivery vehicles that are safer and carry more, and electric assist push bikes
You are hilarious! I've watched this video so many times. Just a great video and I will be getting one within the next two months.
Thanks!!!❤️
Michelle Moreno thank you for the kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the video :) have fun with your supercub!
Great video! I love small displacement motorcycles
So cool!!! I rode a metropolitan for a loooong time throughout all the seasons and weather's. I'm going to get me one of these soon!!!
Guy Lucas in the process of getting one myself. 4k out the door. Hard to get the blue version now near me. 2020 version is red only.
I have an 82 and 83 super cub for my family to ride and they work really well. Max speed is 90kmph
beautiful looking bike. I take my IBT course as soon as lock down is over and the Honda Super Cub is my 1st choice. Still not 100% sure on that though. My test drive will be in Dublin. Thanks for the fun video Duke. Very helpful.
Niall hello from a fellow Irish rider. Did you buy the Supercub after all? I got mine yesterday... Would be good to know other guys with a similar machine 😊. I can tell you it's 10 times more fun to ride than a scooter. You'll need a storage box if you're carrying anything more than a tooth brush!
Would have been worth mentioning that ABS is standard with this bike.
Excellent video. This is only the 2nd video of yours I watched. The first one I watched I ended up buying a 2020 ZX14r. I commented on that one and you actually thanked me and congratulated me on my purchase. So I subbed and gonna take the time to try to watch all your videos. You are an excellent Vlogger and reviewer of motorcycles. Don’t let a couple of troll haters take that away. They almost never have any content of their own and if they do it’s usually like 12 views if they have any content at all.
Thanks again for the kind comment! I’ve definitely got some videos I’m more proud of than others, but happy to hear that you’re enjoying my content! Couldn’t agree more regarding the trolls. It’s comments and subscribers like you that keep me going, so thank you!’
I want to get into motorcycle riding and was thinking a Honda cbr but I seen the super cub. This looks like a fantastic bike for a beginner. Thanks for the review 👍
Another awesome video 👍😊
CoWorker just got one as her first motorcycle! She's super stoked!
Top selling vehicle in the world, not just motorcycle. 2 friends of mine had one for the road back in the 60s, and my brother had one for the dirt. I'm retired now and thinking of getting one for the country roads.
By the way, the little rubber plug midway in the chain guard covers a hole to check the chain tension.
When I rode a motorscooter I never used the sidestand, just got habituated to always using the center stand, it looked really good up and down anyway, a Morphous, now I have a bike with a g____m sidestand and NO centerstand so I hate sidestands more than ever now. The morphous has an emergency break, the up and down of the centerstand is a good transition to riding/parking each time.
We have lots of that in Asia. Except that's the latest model (remake) but we still have the old ones. It has a brother named Honda Wave 125 and Honda Dream. Not a scooter. We call it underbones due to its chassis design. You might wanna check em on UA-cam. 🙂
We had the Honda 90. It did have a dual seat which was just as well. I met my girl when she came to a rally to ask about her bike. We did 30000miles pillion on that machine before replacing it with a second hand 305 Dream. The chain guard kept the chain clean so it lasted a lot longer than the exposed chains of other machines. The one SERIOUS flaw it had was that the throttle cable fractured in the sharp bend above the carburettor leaving the beginner rider stuck on full throttle. With no kill switch and the ignition key behind your left leg this was highly dangerous. But it really was a great machine. Particularly when I had a broken arm and couldn't use the clutch on my own bike.
Theres many options to add a rear rack and seats. Theres even a way to add pegs to the US version that solders the spot where the pegs go in other countries.
Great review, I want one even more now. Enjoyed listening to you 👍🏻. Liked and subscribed.
Thank you!!!

Oh, wise one. Do tell us what your definition of a motorcycle is? Because the Honda Cub IS a motorcycle.
Here in Thailand the cheaper sisters (wave & Dream) are everywhere. Great bikes.
You can get pillion saddles for them - at least you can here - from Honda.
Really enjoying your reviews, even if you sound like the guy who does the MC Commute videos.
keep up the good work man!
I would love to see the 2019 cbr650r by at least 2020
I believe top gear uk did a vietnam trip riding a very old and well used super cub
The chain is covered because it is in an oil bath. Need to change the oil for the chain ever so often.
As a first time motorcyclist just took delivery of my supercub yesterday. 20 miles per hour feels like 50 in a car😁
I recently discovered this bike in July 2020.Only comes in red in US now. That killed it.The color in this video is perfect.Come on Honda ,only one color choice?
Would love to see you do a review of a couple Hyosung bikes! And MORE SCOOTERS!
I've never even heard of that brand before
@@thegodhoward8037 what!!?? How!!??
@@nirhaber6149 i live in montana thats how
@@thegodhoward8037 so??? It's a globally known company. (I'm from Houston, btw)
@@nirhaber6149 You don't know what it's like in montana do you?
love it but I'm way outta shape need to drop another engine in this bad boy maybe 500cc
My local Honda dealership has a 2019 on sale for 3200...I'm torn on whether to buy it. I don't need it...I just want it hella bad!!
It’s not a big motorcycle just a groovy little motorbike!
If I was shopping for a Grom I would be really tempted by the Super Cub or the Monkey
I see this bike (and I love them, I posted mine on UA-cam) being priced out because of dealers ‘soaking’ the buyers with fees and premiums up-charges. The dealers will kill this bike.
I wish you could just buy them in the crate direct shipped to your house tbh.
Indeed. I just looked into one at an Austin dealership and they wanted almost $1800 in shipping, prep, and titling fees. Uh, no. I find one somewhere else.
I have to say that this (scooter) is very good looking thay combined old school style and thay modernized it a little. But I agree with the fact that this (scooter) is not selling very well in the American market is that Americans in general (not all of them) have a bad reputation (the bigger the better). overall, great video Duke, you gave me good information about this (scooter) tnx.
Gots to have the cub
Honda owns the Minimoto name
Interesting machine for sure.
What’s the best bike for $3,000 used?
Plz can you say when time launch this byke in Bangladesh
Small motorcycles and big women are fun. but few men will admit that publicly.
(How many riders of big motorcycles have something like the Cub as backup up when the big bike is off the road.)
is this a dealer test drive, what do they say, drive around all day see you later?
in greece you will find that type of bikes everywhere because its the most reliable bikes to ride from age 10 to age 60+
Bro come to the valley 🌴🌴🌴
Keyless entry motorcycle? What timeline is this lol
1:44
Most sold vehicle ever, 2 or 4 wheel.
Exactly correct.
Im kinda surprised
2019 Honda Super Cub 125 8HP! I buy 2019 RTX 50 12.7HP scooter one gear it a clone of cub!
Ed March (C90Adventures channel) has ridden half of the world on the original C90 :)
aren't they underbones rather than scooters?
In india, once it was practical yet affordable middleclass family motorcycle back in 1980s to early 2k's. But not made by HONDA but by BAJAJ called m80.
Great video, Vile bike.
Dude, it's called an underbone
"Be kind, you evil bastards."
I admit, I lol'd.
All you need to know about the super cub....
9:55
it’s technically classed as a motorcycle i’ve liked Honda’s and have owned and rode several of their Motorcycles over my life i feel like i’m one of the only Motorcycle guys who really like these “new “ Super Cubs yet i agree with you calling it more of a Scooter or Moped now i grew up in South Florida and Scooters have been really popular down there for many years especially for cruising around in the Keys and over inthe Bahamas so i’ve kind of got used to seeing them around as both areas previously mentioned are places i’ve frequented BTW the bike is marketed as a World Motorcycle and that’s why Honda only put a single seat on them as in many countries it’s not illegal to carry passengers on luggage racks or even handlebars whatever i’ve seen photos in Asian Countries that people have even figured out ways to transport various farm animals LOL on single seat scooters
I own the bike and I love it but......it is fucking crazy and psychological insane to not put a side-stand as default on this thing. Have they lost their mind? For the price they cost it is absolutely ridiculous of Honda to not include a side-stand.
4K tho...
8k no?
And the evil bastard says, well done.
I dont really understand why most americans call this as a scooter. It isn't. It is an underbone bike..
Oh yeah cause underbone bike is better known than scooter
This is how most of Asian kids learn how to ride, just a simple semi-manual no clutch system. These aren't classified as motorcycle rather than your regular moped. Things get sketchy as you speed them up to 35-40mph.
Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years, And then there came to them that which they were promised?, They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. (Quran 26 :205-207)
I don't agree with this guys opinion on this bike
I rather drive a vespa than this lol
the American motorist is incapable of mastering the footclutch and gear lever in a motor car, they have to driv einefficinet torque convertor automatic transmisions
why do you have to swear??? spoiled the whole clip!
I swear, it’s just who I am. Love me for me, Etienne. LOVE ME FOR ME!!
This motorcycle is a joke given it's size the 125cc 4 speed manual is why underpowered a 190cc 5 speed manual transmission with a traditional clutch would be better and increase the fuel capacity to 2.5 gallons would better for longer rides with a sprocket setup of 17 tooth front 40 tooth rear.
