Man, I got paranoid when he was holding that axolotl, like it was nothing! Mine would have bit me if I did that, I have two of those amazing creatures, a black and a white one.
4kandc :D But I thought Axolotls bites don’t hurt?
their pets?!?!
@@yaboisqueaks3017 yes they are, and awesome ones. i have two too. one albino and one gold.
you have to be very well educated into them and be really responsible if you're gonna have one.
@@RandaleBittle they don't really hurt tbh but it's a bit scary because of how fast they turn at you 🤣
I have a black one he's name's toothless 😊
No wonder there is no more axolotls this guys has them all in a jar
Right.. that's disgusting. I'm sure he has some fetuses in jars as well
@@BlessedTruly2014 it's called preservation for research purposes guys, don't think to far into it
@@LiqquidAss you don't need 15 axolotls in 1 jar for research. Get with it. & What good is all of them dead going to do??? I'll read into it however I want or see it & that's how I see it. They are on verge of being extinct so we put them all in jars??? My youngest is obsessed with axolotls so I clicked on video & he saw that too. Humans will destroy everything on this Earth
@@BlessedTruly2014 the point is that you have dated specimens, which are preserved. I'm sure he's not going around, hunting them, and throwing them in jars.
@@LiqquidAss I'm sure you don't know what he does.
I think it's cute hahaha
We are
Same
Ur cute
U are the cute one 😙😘

Finally someone gets it correct! Back & forth between water & land! I had one years ago! Amazing guys! Mine was albino.
awww :0 What color eyes did it have since it was albino? :))))))))
@@kefayamohammed4046 Red he was cool. He was stolen by someone I had stuck my neck out & helped.. backstabber all of em!
I see a lot of people saying that you don’t need 15+ axolotl specimens, but the scientists need multiple specimens because of things like, different habitats, different diets, and other things
A little less hopeful finding out this episode aired over 11 years ago :/
Did you feed it? Did it survive the lab visit? Did you return it to the wild? Was it the last survivor of its species?
Chill we kinda good going extinct but good
they actually very rare in the wild they said theres only a few hundred of them left in the wild
He found it in the place of its habitat
Ok well I am glad you are releasing him. That is good of you:)
It’s not good to release them because it’s way more harder for them in the wild then with an owner that’s why they are almost existent in the wild
@@nickkalrfirst They weren't actually bred to be pets, the reason there's so little of them in the wild is because of trends and demands for them to be pets. People catch them and hunt them to the point of extinction. Wild axolotls i mean. There are axolotls that are bred by humans to be pets, but those are often the minority that you see in pet stores. (the other reason its hard for them to survive is because of pollution ^^)
@@nickkalrfirst No, they are almost extinct in the wild because their habitat has been ruined by pollution from the expansion of Mexico City and the introduction of predator species (carp and tilapia), which prey on Axolotls.
That said, there are estimated to be millions being kept in captivity, both for research and as pets. I pity the ones being kept for research, and hope the ones being kept as pets are given good homes where they can live a happy and healthy life.
@@cawffeejelly7937You couldn’t be more confidently wrong than that, literally everything you said is wrong. Do your research before spewing bullshit like this.
@@cawffeejelly7937every axolotl you see in captivity are captive bred and originate from only a few individues. They are axolotl ans tiger salamander hybrids. If they are almost if not extinct in the wild it's because of tilapias and pollution not to mention they dried one of the 2 lakes they are found in. Do some researches
He should try and catch a mud puppy.
Then U see them preserved in jars :(
My gosh? Why does he have so many in a frickin jar!?
It’s gon be like dinosaurs in the next 60mil years
They're so cute tho... :'((((((((((((((((
When he said i found a wild axolotl
Me: time to make it
A wild axolotl has appeared
With such healthy breeding stock in captivity, are there breeding projects happening in their natural habitat?
They're not healthy, that's why
@@youwhat.u can train axolotls to live in water that’s the case for some sea animals in captivity
Absolutely incredible 👌
Hopefully it's not the last.
They fermented a bunch of axolotl
Like it was a pickles
It’s for research don’t complain
They live in such dirty water mine is like in crystal clear water
It’s historically been a marshy lake
Well, axolotls can thrive in both enviroment. The black ones seem to be more prominent in the lake
Pretty heartwrenching to see all the dead axolotls in a jar..
Very cute
Why he is has so many preserved axotyl? Does he killed it or does it died naturally?
Beautiful specimen. Glad you finally put it back in water. They aren't survivors, they are pretty much extinct in the wild. It's a shame that they lay so many eggs yet the water quality must be so poor. Now wonder when that man had waaaaaaaay too many picked ones. I'm happy to maintain them well in captivity even if they are captive bread. It's a shame there are not breeding programs in Mexico.
Who said there aren’t any breeding programs??
No still like 1,000 in the wild
well, since Mexico City was slowly but steadily built on the worst possible soil, with the worst possible planning and making the worst possible environmental impact, that's no secret. Destruction of the habitat but specially pollution in the channels of Xochimilco have turned the odds against these species.
I have two pet axolotls Alvin the axolotl and sally the salamander
I have 2 too
The guy in the boat behind them🚣🏼
Have people not seen axolotls before? Quite a common pet, I use to have one. Very cute.
Yes we are
They're almost gone in the wild, however. Less than 200 left, iirc.
Yea there Highly endangered in the wild
They’re illegal to own in many states in the US. Tried to get one in California and apparently they’re a threat to our local salamander population.
@@Marixchatt that's weird cause there are about 15 species that live in the US, but it is much more common to found them in their salamander stage rather than in the larva stage.
There's even the California Tiger Salamander (Ambystoma californiense).
Anyone else wishing he would pull a api water test kit out and test the fukn water?
lmao and then how is he going to purify that entire lake?
@@TheCrazyDumbsaint no ones asking him to purify it but to test the water parameters.... check tha cycle🤦♂️😂😂
nice
So this yt man took it home from the wild?? Or did he put it back? ??
He put back
We have one. His name is Boba.
Salamander?
No axolotl
Yep. Axolotl are still a salamander
They’re quite cool
Why is it not pink?
Because in the wild, they’re not pink. They’re brown to blend in with their environment. Pink ones come about as a result of breeding
@@PianoDisneygal10 so the very reason its pink is through selective breeding? Those wild one's is naturally brown?
@@massacretv4988 yep.
YOU KILLED GHE AXALOTLS IN A CONTAINER FULL OF AXALOTL SQUISED HOW CRUEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ikr so sad and i treat mine like God
It’s not cute it’s not good to keep axolotls out of water for to long and they hate being in nets and touching a then and putting them in nets it messes with there slime coat

I never seen this fish
It's not a fish it's an amphibian

@@perthshireaxolotlrescuecen6588 It is amazing
@The lord of cringe no its a axolotl that can breed with out needing to transform into salamander
@The lord of cringe yes but no
3:43 IT MADE A SQUEAK
I think that's the boat or stuff on the boat, you hear that noice throughout the video when they're messing around the boat.
Nope. Axolotls make that exact sound.
😮😮😮 what a creature 😱😱

Yep there cute I have one
That’s not an axolotl that’s a juvenile tiger salamander axolotl have short gills not tall and axolotls don’t live in Uk they live in Mexico lake xochmilco
That is actually an Axolotl...
It is an Ambystoma Mexicanum (the scientific name for Axolotl)
Did you watched the video? They are in Xochimilco fishing... That's next to the "Embarcadero" of "Las trajineras" in Cuemanco. It's a canoe sprint racing track that was built for the 1968 México Olympic Games.
And they do have large gills...
They loose them when they enter the salamander stage.
@@emilianocastillo6792 LMFAO did we watch the same video as him?
