    www.horsetrainingvideos.com/f... In this video, cutting horse trainer, Larry Trocha works a 4-year old gelding on cattle. He explains this horse’s “Training, Form and Style”. He started his training on cattle late so as a competition cutting horse, he’s kind of green. Overall, you’ll get a good understanding of how a show horse works a cow with winning form and style.
    The above video is a short, edited clip taken from my online training course titled, “Cutting Horse Know How”:

    This is my dream to learn this. I'm 70 and I will do this come hell or high water.🤓
    That is a great point about the breeding between 2 crippled horses.

    Great video ! I’ve learnt so much.
    I was looking forward to hearing the story about how you bought your horse.

      Hi Melissa, I'm glad you like the video. I didn't include the story because the video was already long. I may do a separate video just about the story. We'll see.

    I was waiting on the video at the end showing us how you got him to working off his hocks that's 1 thing I have been struggling with getting my mare back on her hocks like she used to. She has been out of the cutting for awhile and my son is wanting to start showing at a few local ranch shows. so she is getting there but I know there is an easier way.

    Could you do a video explaining and demonstrating how to settle a herd properly before a cutting?

    • @ltrocha
      @ltrocha  2 роки тому +2

      Sorry, no I can't. Settling a herd, turning back and holding herd requires knowledge which is really difficult, if not impossible to teach via video. The NCHA has a herd settling video which is fairly good.

    • @rondalreed5975

      What we have started doing to settle the herd is get them to the center of the arena and just ride around them warm our horses up and settle the cattle at the same time it works good for us. But we have also started working them from the center. but there is usually only 2 of us Like Mr trocha said turning back and holding the herd is tough I struggle constantly wonder if I should push the cow a little how much can you push if the cow isn't working that good and not get in the way of the horse working the cow or get their points docked for to much help from the turn back guys.
