Hey Barry, good to hear from you again! I'm sure that lovely bike of yours had some great riding over summer. I'm already thinking about video ideas for the next video. If you can think of any, let me know. I can't promise I'll get to them, but it's always good to know what my little community is interested in 😀
As far as I know. Running wideband 02 sensors is the bees knees when it comes to tuning. Allowing your bike to dynamically hit your target AFR values as opposed to narrow band 02 sensors that don't give your ecu the full picture with what's going on.
I have a 2023 BMW R9T that I replaced the original full Akrapovic exhaust for a K-speed, which I can feel, gives it more power, however, it might be running a bit lean. My intention was to add some pod filters and install a Rapid Bike Smart (since the Evo or Racer modules aren’t available for the 21’+ generation) but wondered if it would make the motor run correctly or it might not be sufficient adjustment the RB Module could do, since it doesn’t have the same exact capabilities as the Evo or Racer might. Was wondering what your thoughts on this would be. Thank you, and I’m truly grateful for your very educational videos.
Hi @marcelosuarez9027, the 90K from K-Speed is pretty much a straight through design. The Smart basically only monitors exhaust oxygen levels, loosely speaking, it is like a volume "knob" to amplify the O2 readng. If I had the 90K and was also changing to a higher volume airfilter but couldn't obtain a Rapid Bike module, and once I was finished with all bolt-on performance modifications, I would simply have the bike Dyno Tuned by a specialist tuning shop who could precisely modify the tables in your DME perfectly for your exact configuration. That's just my opinion and how I'd do it if I was in your position with the 2023 model. But full disclaimer I am not a professional Tuner. I hope that helps a little. The 23 is a beautiful bike. Enjoy my friend 👊✊️👍😀
Great video🙌. I have a 2017 R nine t pure, with header and no cats, K & N filter, lithium battery, I removed about 40 pounds of the bike. What do you recommend me going with. I ride my bike on weekends on the twistiest. 🙏 thank you
Hey there Cafe Racer California! Nice work on the 40lb bike weightloss!😃. I think if you're planning to mainly do street riding then the Rapid Bike Evo is a great choice, but if you plan on doing regular track days e.g. joining a race club, then definitely go with a RapidBike Race Module and get it tweaked on a Dyno to get the absolute best out of it. They are my thoughts on the subject, I hope that helps you with your research. Ride Safe, take care out there.
Hey buddy. I just wanted to thank you for your recommendation. I went with the rapid Evo. The bikes Runs amazing. I also own a 2020 Ducati hypermotard and my R nine t feels faster. Thanks so much 🔜
Hey there@@caferacercalifornia 😀. It's great to hear you also enjoy the power delivery change a Module can provide😁. And I'm glad the video helped you decide on one which was right for you. I love all twins including Ducatis🤩, but that's an impressive tune up on the R9T when it feels better than a Duke!!😁 ENJOY!!! and thanks for sharing your experience. It gave me a smile while I drank my morning coffee and checked in on our community😃. Take care out there👍👊✊️
Sorry i didn't Understand the last part of the video. Can They install all together. Rapid bike racing +power commander 6... Or rapid bike racing +Run on dyno.
I was very excited to see this video. Very interesting, but no numbers. How many horses do you get for your dollars ? That's the bottom line after all.
Hi Dave, thanks for the very valid question😀. To be honest I intentionally avoided that entire subject for a few reasons : 1. the answer of specific numbers around BHP gained, will be different for different bike setups (e.g. mine is not stock) 2. the real advantage of a module for street riding isn't so much added BHP, but is ride-ability, smooth power delivery etc. 3. Modules provide additional features over a gain in BHP e.g. QuickShifter, Refined Throttle response, Engine Braking and Traction Control etc. After saying that, you will notice a change in Power and Torque, as the module adapts to how you ride (but nothing mind blowing). But in my mind, for an R9T power gain isn't the main reason why I'd recommend a module. It's more "USEABLE Power and Torque". Hence why I wanted this video to provide hopefully useful information around the "features" provided rather than the specific BHP numbers. After saying that, if I dyno my race bike for next season maybe I will create a video on that and focus on the numbers 😀
Hey @Chandlerd17, good question.😀 Technically they could use it as a reason to not honour the warranty, as it changes the engines chacteristics from stock. After saying that, I have not heard of anyone having a problem with their warranty with this change. After all, you can remove the unit at any stage, and the bike returns to stock. Personally my bike was already outside of the 3yr warranty period when I made the change. 👊✊️👍

Hey there "no", unfortunitely I'm not sure myself. Depending on which manufacturer you buy from, the answer may be different. Best bet is to email the manufacturer directly regarding the Module model you are interested in.
A 25 or 50 wet shot of nitrous seems way better. Why does no one do it? The 1250gsa I have is in need of more power after i moved to elevation, but the idea of spending $1,000+ on a tune that does so little is not great. A tune for ethanol is probably the best idea, change the injectors…yet again this comfortable “go with a tune” is crowding the industry and to me the data is just not there to make it look worth it.
Yeah that idea has its merits if you want that burst delivery of power. Although you'll still need to balance your AFR with nitrous to ensure temperatures stay within tolerance. You would definitely have a fun-factor with nitrous. Personally I prefer the more usable naturally asperated power across the rev range rather than an "injection" delivery of power which you get from both nitrous and turbo type setups. Although those are both fun setups at least for a while. 😃
IMHO Power Commanders are over rated and often don't solve ride-ability issues. I had a Ducati Monster with a full Termignoni system and opened up airbox, it ran like crap so I put on a PC and if anything it was worse, several hours on a dyno later (and several hundred $'s) and it was like a new, better bike, the tech ended up removing the PC and re-flashing the DME.
Hey Mark , thanks so much for contributing to the discussion👍. Its fantastic to have members sharing their experiences. It just adds so much more value and insight to everyone's real world experiences rather than just the marketing hype. Sorry to hear you wasted your money on a PC. I'm sure other members will be very interested to read about your outcome 😀👊✊👍
Great explanation, lm sure I will be going down this route as soon as my warranty expires. Keep the video’s coming buddy 🏁

Yeah a wide band Air Fuel sensor provides more frequent current signal changes as it mirrors the actual continuous AFR.
Thanks for the image breakdown. 👍
You're very welcome @benwoodruff4466 🙂.

Rapid Bike (or PowerCommander) + Run on Dyno. Sorry for the late reply

Does installing the rapid bike also void the warranty?

How much horsepower will add to the bike on a rapid bike racing sir?

On the 22 r9t there is a third O2 sensor. If you de cat your exhaust and leave out the sensor do you get a faut come up on the dash?
