Can't wait for the diagnosis on what you found. This will help all of us who will have the supercharger going on. Glad it was something simple, and no code now.
I have a 2015 SR tundra with 4.6L V8. I put in a k&n cold intake filter and put high grade gas in it too. I was wondering is there anything else I can do to make it run better with power and mileage?
Sooo glad you got it figured out! Cannot wait to see what it was and if it holds, If thing continue down this path of reliable outcomes I will be selling my motorcycle possibly next spring and buying one myself for my truck! I love how you are documenting all this stuff and the tuner and everything, it sure as hell is going to Magnuson sell more superchargers and sparks parts! Ordered a lift for my truck going about some things finally gonna have to wait on my wheel and tire setup for summer but I will be getting some 35's on my truck before winter and that will be a dedicated snow setup soo stoked! I am anxiously awaiting more videos with straight supercharger content!! Love this channel! It should help so many other guys with Tundras ease into some bigger mods like the Supercharger!
TundraDude34 yeah bro, I'm so happy you did what you do! Tundra owners need a UA-cam like this! We don't have one and you are so detailed and active it makes it great! I still absolutely love my truck it's been six months just cracking 10k miles my dad loves his, I've still been off-roading the dog piss out of the truck and that pro suspension is no joke best money I ever spent, the lift I am getting still utilizes the pro suspension!
Was it something not plugged in tight? As for Instagram. I'm not going to sugar coat this. Whats the big deal and push. It's just another social media to try and keep up with. Already got You Tube, Facebook and Flicker Gets to be annoying
Hey, funny question.. but how do you get your wife on board? Starting with getting a tundra and adding upgrades onto it? Also, gonna do another 2021 Tundrs vid?!??
Good to hear you may have found the problem. Always a scary icon to pop up. I really want a SC but might start off getting Bully dog tuner, baby steps. Enjoy your weekend, looking forward to your next video.
I have yet to even install TRD dual exhaust at this time...lots and lots of projects going for me right now but I will and when I do I'm sure I'll start really thinking of a supercharger on the "next" Tundra 😊
I'm envious, but that's big money. What's the return on investment? I'm familiar with the performance gains but does it help/hurt fuel economy? To make an investment that ends up costing me money isn't my style. I am curious to see what your Check Engine Light was related to. Not being a mechanic I don't have any educated guesses, but I'll toss out a guess in general: MAS (Mass Airflow Sensor). I can't wait for your next video to find out what it is. Congrats and enjoy!
Dave, I dont think this is an investment. People dont turbocharge or supercharge vehicles as an "investment". Its money out the window for pleasure, speed, adrenaline; not making money
Matt Wingate You make a good point. I don't begrudge anyone who can do it, I'd just have a tough time dropping that kind of cash without some type of ROI. It's not right or wrong, it's all about preference.
I got beat for 1st comment. I got 1st last time, dang. Mark I'll let you know how much my install was next spring when I get it done. For now, Colorado winter eehhhh. Luck, Health and Success to you and your family.......Jay
Next time you fill up, reset your MPG meter. It takes time for it to calculate especially if it wasn't reset for a long time. And remember the reading is just your average. As per fake reading, it does not exist. The engine ECU knows exactly how much air and fuel enters the engine. Think of an engine as an air pump, the more air you push through it the more power it makes, therefore the more fuel it consumes. The few supercharged Tundras at work went from 16L / 100 km N/A to 20L / 100 km supercharged just to give you an idea. ( sorry it's not in miles and gallons)
Install it yourself and buy on black friday grand total $5250.....you dont even need specialty tools to install or a lift......you don't even have to Jack the truck up...its seriously 1 afternoons work...and get a catch can so you don't ruin your intercooler efficiency..
TundraDude34 I don't know what you mean but for the extra 1500 in my pocket I could upgrade the valvetrain and get better headstuds/gasket and overdrive it safely for more boost
They have a very strict warranty for the supercharger. Has to be installed by a dealer or Magnuson approved shop and any extra mods will also void it. But i hear ya, a 1500 savings is good
🤔hmm .Was it something in the fuel system that made the check engine light turn on? You're right dude. I expected it to be a lot more expensive but, actually it wasn't. Nice 👏👏 👍
Your supercharger would be unaffected but your engine would knock and you would be damaging your engine/ retarding your timing severly making less power than stock...octane is a number correlated to resistance to combustion...thats why if you put high octane in your Camry there is no benefit in performance.

Dang, my local Toyota dealer says no less than 10k total
How big a mistake would it be to put a supercharger on my 08 Tundra with 163000 miles? Any input would be great
I would take your truck in and make sure its tip top before throwing on a supercharger
YOU are TOYOTA to the MAX!!
+Daniel Enriquez 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Any reason why you took out the TRD cold air intake when you installed the SC? Can they work together?
The Magnuson came with its own intake setup.
TundraDude34 is it compatible with the TRD?
The Magnuson is a bit larger for increased airflow
Can't wait for the diagnosis on what you found. This will help all of us who will have the supercharger going on. Glad it was something simple, and no code now.
+Jay Sauer tomorrows video 👍🏼

Thanks for the honesty in costs here. I will have to live vicariously through you on this one.
what fuel is required with the supercharger?
Premium
Hello Tundradude! I'm getting a 2019 Tundra TRD Pro and want to do the supercharger as well down the road!
No tune exists atm unless you get a unichip tune from sparks toyota.
Thanks for the up-date. As soon as I win a decent jackpot at the casino, I'll get me a SC. LOL
+Gary Swope 🤣🤣🤣

And as i get info on the 2021, ill make more vids
Couldn't you still use your Trd intake?
+THEDESTROYER711 negative, the supercharger comes with its own intake. A bit bigger
Good to hear you may have found the problem. Always a scary icon to pop up. I really want a SC but might start off getting Bully dog tuner, baby steps. Enjoy your weekend, looking forward to your next video.

Smiles per miles is a legit metric.
+Dave Sabol 100%

The only issue with installing it yourself is you dont get the massive warranty

TundraDude34 I hear ya. my builds never end lol so I guess warranty doesnt matter in my case.

TundraDude34 I’m a pretty good technician lol just kidding it was a wild guess
+Mervin Gamero yea, youre gooooood
🤔hmm .Was it something in the fuel system that made the check engine light turn on? You're right dude. I expected it to be a lot more expensive but, actually it wasn't. Nice 👏👏 👍
+Juan J Solis just a loose harness
TundraDude34 - Ha! Really. Well at least you got that taken care of. So what's next for Tundra?
+Juan J Solis check out todays video
TundraDude34 - Will do 👍
How would the car go if you only filled up with unleaded vs premium.
+Peter Kim that could damage the supercharger
Your supercharger would be unaffected but your engine would knock and you would be damaging your engine/ retarding your timing severly making less power than stock...octane is a number correlated to resistance to combustion...thats why if you put high octane in your Camry there is no benefit in performance.
I'm 20 minutes from gault....tempting haha
Go get it!!

+John Lab 😇😇😇
+John Lab you're better off
Okay, so what's next for the money pit...lol
+Mark Gennaro oh theres a list
Why not just put a TRD Supercharger?
TRD Supercharger was discontinued in 2015
ElroyJosephJenkins JrTheThird I believe magnuson makes the trd superchargers so it should be the same
Second comment. Expensive upgrade and time will tell. And, I am still holding my breath.
+Bodyguard 56 until tomorrow 👍🏼
