The executionner really caught my eye. I've been trying to make a dot pyromancer work for a while but it always felt inferior to just pure damage. Looking forward to try an officier-less run with a pyro operative/executionner playing on attrition by stacking armor with tactical knowledge and just stacking dots everywhere!
The executioner will serve you very well in that sense. Even if you don't care about the burst damage by consuming the DoTs, it will still buff your damage over time effects significantly. Very fun archetype
It does yeah. I think it can work well for a hit and run back behind cover strategy, but when you need to move around the map (which I do a lot) it will just keep you back I feel. Still, I haven't actually played with it yet, there may be other uses for it and it certainly seems fun, especially when combined with death from above. Veil of blades can always be useful however, which is why I went for it.
I feel like there are some pretty cool combinations to be found here. Pyro bladedancer is probably the strongest bet for a character especially if you also go into biomancy, my only concern is having enough points for everything you need. Definitely something I will be trying out at some point. The warrior into executioner is also quite fun, but I think I'm enjoying it mostly because it's also a psyker.
Hmm, I wonder: Pasqual as an Operative-Executioner? Merciless Verdict essentially turns a Plasma Gun into an incendiary grenade launcher. He also synergises well with anything regarding Medicae, and he's already really good at ruining enemy defenses through debuffs. Gonna do some experiments on that.
This is also what I was thinking for Pasqal :D I never was much of a fan of bounty hunter or grand strategist on him, executioner is something I will try out on him next for sure
Did anyone notice that the animation for 'Death from above' is the same one Marazhai uses to jump over when he sides with you in Comorragh? I wonder if on future runs he will be specced as a bladedancer instead of as a warrior.
I had not noticed that no, it's been a while since I saw that animation play out. I would imagine that if it is the same one, it's probably just them taking advantage of an already existing animation rather than going for changing his archetype. Although he would also be pretty thematic as a bladedancer!
I have not experimented with a lot of the origins yet, but non psyker for a melee character I would gravitate towards death world, though it is a shame their nice weapons passive does not include swords :(
@@CoredumpedGaming Oh death world for sure, yes. But i asking not about world but rather about origin). Look like not many of them very good for a dedicated melee RT. But thanks for answer. Interesting video.
Ah, sorry lol I got mixed up. My money would also be on those two, the Minestrone (eheh) Priest would be quite nice since it gives some nice passives and the bladedancer is constantly getting into the middle of enemies and attacking a lot of them per turn for War Hymn. Though I think the Crime Lord might actually be better given the very nice defensive options it also provides for the style that the bladedancer likes to go for
You can use a dagger in the off hand if you are dual wielding. As long as you still have a sword you can use the abilities. Blade dance will have less attacks though, but still work.
It was mostly from a community manager which I spoke with some time back and he analyzed the channel and allowed me in. The actual metrics to join their "club" I cannot meet currently as the channel is still small for these purposes. But since this channel is quite focused on this genre of games, they allowed me to join.
Small channel or no, it is nonetheless deserved. Unfortunately channels like yours have an uphill battle not only because of the niche interest but also because of algorithm shenanigans, but it's definitively one of the best cRPG enthusiast channels out there.
Sadly? xD I know the feeling my friend. Thankfully I was able to get that needle out of my veins some time ago, spent waaaaay too much time on that game. Then the new expansions come out and I start scratching my arms again :p
@@CoredumpedGaming I usually only play on new releases these days thankfully as thats when all my friends get back into it. Also love how all veterans and ex players refer to it as basically digital heroin
They are both quite cool, depends a bit on how you want to play the character. I think bladedancer/executioner is probably better because you naturally have more attacks per turn than the warrior.
Well those are what I'm gonna do for Kibellah and Heinrix respectively on my next playthrough. Thinking about trying Bladedancer/Master Tactician for the RT themselves, just to see how much bullshit a Bladedancer can get up to with Press the Advantage.
I have never played an RPG more than that once...ever. Rogue Trader is the only game that makes me wanna do that, I am reaching the end of my dogmatic run where I killed Jae (for being annoying) and Yirlet (cause fuck xenos). Now I wanna play full icono run but I wanna throw the supportive officer build out the window.
I felt so proud getting thia correct as a newbie to the WH40K world. I assumed Dogmatic since the cult is still in service of the Emperor (albiet in thier own strange way) @@CoredumpedGaming.
In a very strange way :p I didn't know anything about this cult before seeing it here in Rogue Trader, but I would have also assumed heretical at the start with all the blood everywhere, but it is indeed dogmatic and she acts accordingly. Very cool new lore overall!

Great video, I know youtube doesn't stimulate longer content but this was really useful. Subbed.
Thank you good sir, happy to hear it was helpful :D And welcome to the channel!

I'm stuck between arobatic artistry and veil of blades...the former seems more situational

Damn i wanted to do a pyro blade dancer but warrior into executioner looks crazy.
Blade dancer into assassin looks absolutely insane

So what the best - non psyker - origin for bladedancer? Crime lord? Maybe priest)?

So what kind of weapon should a blademaster use?
7:09 You can see it says a sword is needed to use this ability... it's called Bladedancer for a reason.
mr. @notalefty999 has a very sharp sense of sarcasm :p

M+ season you mean World of Warcraft?

Rogue Trader does have a really nice way of pulling us to replay it and experience the other alignment options :D
I wonder how plausible a executioner/pyro build is...
