Chewing Gum was released in August 2016 but the music video was actually filmed before The 7th Sense was released in April. Taeyong talked about it in a live last year. The plan was for NCT Dream to be the first unit to debut but SM ended up switching the units’ debut dates around. So, the time from which Chewing gum was filmed to when We Young was released is likely around 16-18 months. You also missed a comeback in between Chewing Gum and We Young… it’s called ‘My First and Last’ which is the lead single off their Single album ‘The First’ (which also has the B-side ‘Dunk Shot’). I’ll put a list below of main comeback releases in sequential order just in case you weren’t sure….

Chewing gum was recorded when they were 14 Jisung and Mark 16, Chenle came pretty late (2 months before debut) so they didn't really record that early
the order is
2016: they debuted with the digital single CHEWING GUM and
2017: then release the single album MY FIRST in february 2017 with the title
My first and Last (without Jaemin cause of injury) including chewing gum in there
2017 : later the same year they released the EP We young with the title WE YOUNG (Jaemin was still in hiatus)
2017 december JOY came out (SM STATION single)
2018: they released GO which is in NCT 2018 EMPATHY ALBUM that you checked.
On august of the same year the EP WE GO UP was released, title WE GO UP
On december the title CANDLE LIGHT was released (SM STATION single) Mark last song with NCT DREAM
2019 :their 3rd EP WE BOOM was released with the title BOOM, without MARK because he graduated in december 2018
2020 : They cameback in april with the single RIDIN(without Mark) included in the EP RELOAD
2021 : after all battle and thinking MARK finally cameback and the graduation system was cancel. they cb in may with their first Album
HOT SAUCE with the title HOT SAUCE
Later the same year in july they cb with the repackaged HELLO FUTURE (title)
2022 : in march they cb with the 2nd album GLITCH MODE (title)
On may cb with the repackage BEATBOX (title)
On december they cb with the EP Candy with CANDY (which is the remake of their senior H.O.T in 1996 they weren't even born haha)
it included GRADUATION(should definitely check because it really concern them)
2023 :they released their first japanese single album BEST FRIEND EVER
later they pre release BROKEN MELODIES and then the album ISTJ with the title ISTJ
