    Terrific tutelage!!! You've clearly demonstrated all that it needs to familiarise and equip the learner (such as myself) with the guitar notes and chords of the song. Much obliged. Your cool, calm and patient teaching is really soothing and inspiring.

    I'm glad I found this. Seger's song chords are almost impossible to find on-line. I usually go to Ultimateguitartabs but Seger will not allow the posting of interpretations of his songs for some reason. This brief lesson is great. Oh, the song was originally on an early album titled 'Back in '72', but that album along with another one titled 'Brand New Morning' have never been officially released on CD, and Seger destroyed the original tapes feeling the material was not up to his standards. Too bad as 'Back in '72' was one of his best, in the opinion of many.

    Thank you! I really like how you really take the time to teach. I am 55 I now have the time to really learn. I really appreciate you giving your time for those of us who have never even thought of picking up a guitar before. I have had mine for 2 weeks. I am so happy with the tools you have given to me. Thanks again

    Great song but I think that it was done on the piano by Seger not the guitar. Although he has played it on guitar as well. Anyway, great lesson & this is the only song that I can half-ass play after over 2-1/2 yrs of practicing guitar. However, I strum it totally differently than what you showed in the video. Thanks for posting........... :)

    • @jkehew1
      @jkehew1  6 років тому

      Yeah ! Who knew he was a piano player ! I know he had someone else on piano in The Silver Bullet Band. But I saw a video of him playing this on piano - very cool.

    Why can I not find a tutorial on the EXACT notes to what are the same chords arpeggiated that make up the song's actual instrumentation (heard most clearly on the Live Bullets version).
    You see, those chords, in the Seger version anyway, are not strummed chords like you advocate. Meanwhile, if strummed chords are all one wants to do, it seems to me that those four chords, strummed, are so blindingly obvious that I'm having trouble figuring out how those four simple chords can be missed by even the most rank novice; that is to say, why would anyone need a tutorial on those?
    No...the chords themselves are NOT what we need. What I need to learn (and what is so iconic about the instrumentation) is the ELEVEN NOTES (consisting of a total of four different notes, some repeated) from the Em chord -- the ones that are played continuously for at least the first verse and chorus, making up the totality of the instrumentation early on.

      Hi Steve, I can tell this song is important to you. This video is part of a 365-video series aimed at beginners, as stated in the title. That's why I kept things simple.
