I was thinking the same thing, then my brain kept me awake and figured out what benders a decent amount of HP characters would be, I also took non-bender, blood-bending, lava/metal bending and how air benders can literally suck the air from your lungs into play.

I agree with all of them. But I think Aang can also be sorted in Hufflepuff. He's so kind and always put others before himself, he's hardworking and you can see that on how he was the only avatar who learn all the other elements in a year and being 12 years old (we know even if he had 112, he was still 12) and that shows how dedicated he is. He was more patient than a kid his age could be. He was incredible loyal to all his friends. And always went with fair-play. We know he could have killed so many but he wanted to do the right thing. He values life before anything else. With this I think he maybe a hybrid between those two houses. He also could be a Divergent, having the qualities of all of the houses, more or less.

Toph is definitely Gryffindor. She never sat down determined to learn earth bending or discover metal bending, but her brashness and nerve led her into the situations that required her to do so. She was basically too stubborn to lose

sokka imo would fall into slytherin. he's definitely very cunning as his plans are usually pretty sneaky. he also has a great sense for leadership, seeing as how he took the role of leader in the day of the black sun, and for sure has a lot of ambition. sure self preservation isnt always appropriate for him, but especially in the early episodes, Sokka very much didnt care about anyone, as he didnt even want to help Aang out at first. and for resourcefulness i just need one word: boomerang

I thought that was a cool psychological dilemma that Aang had, what with avoiding the fire lords execution. But when many of the battles clearly showed that 12 year old boy crushing warships with title waves sinking pirates into the ground, it's obvious that he inflicted casualties. His kill count is probably very high.

Hey Morgan, to list some characters you didn’t mention, here’s my take on them: Jinora - Ravenclaw: She embodies the traits of intelligence & curiosity with her love of gaining knowledge through reading, creativity & wit through her figuring out how to cross into the Spirit World & how to perform astral projection on her own & using it to help out her friends when they’re in a bind. Ikki - Hufflepuff: Ikki develops loyal bonds to people rather quickly & this was further developed in season 4 once she settles out of her hyper activeness. She was also a hard worker, even with her overexcited nature. Meelo - Slytherin: Even as a little kid Meelo was ambitious in his airbending abilities & this continues in season 4 as he arrogantly asked to receive his tattoos at age 9 😆. He also used his airbending in resourceful ways via fartbending! Suyin - Slytherin: Suyin tried many different things throughout her life and her desires & ambitions led her to create her own sprawling metal metropolis of Zaofu, also demonstrating her leadership. She’s also cunning in her attempted plans to overtake the Red Lotus & Kuvira. Opal - Hufflepuff: A lot of Opal’s characteristics are defined by her morals & loyalty to her family. She believed in hard work, fair play & honesty to a fault but this also led her to treat others harshly who didn’t always follow this code of conduct such as Bolin & Kuvira.

Iroh is a Ravenclaw. Gryffindors have one major flaw : pride, whereas Iroh is the most humble character of the show. He is also the wisest, each of his lines to Zuko are pure wisdom, and curious, roaming in the world, learning from the people, and this knowledge he gained allowed him to create, like Toph, a new bending technique, redirecting lighting.

Slytherin has very dangerous qualities, I mean the original founder himself went evil. Too much bravery makes you kill yourself, too much knowledge makes you that annoying know it all. Too much compassion will make you a pushover. But too much Ambition will make you evil.
I think Ty Lee and Luna would be great friends. Their both so unique and I think Ty Lee would like Luna's personality and weird things she's interested in
I think Katara is either a Gryffindor or a Slytherin. Her personality is extremely fiery and “girl boss,” much like Ginny Weasley, and she is shown throughout the series to be very willing to break rules and do anything to achieve her goals, for example stealing the water bending scroll and using blood bending to save her friends.

My philosophy would be which House does each form of bending connect with the most. Fire-Slytherin. It sounds cliche with the whole "Slytherins are evil" trope, but when you think about the passion, drive, and ambition that fuels fire bending, there are a few connections to the emerald and silver. Air-Ravenclaw. The air nomads were creative and intelligent, unwilling to be grounded, and according to Iroh, had pretty good senses of humor, which fit the bill for wit. Earth-Gryffindor. Brave, uncompromising, proud, like Toph says, Earthbenders face the element head on, no tricks. Water-Hufflepuff. Not the best explanation, but their sense of loyalty, hard work and community stick out the most to me. Obviously, this isn't a perfect theory, and not every fire bender could be Slytherin, nor every Earthbender a Gryffindor, but it's the best explanation I've got. Your opinion could be very different from mine.
Avatar Roku is an example of how hufflepuff traits can be toxic. Loyalty was his fatal flaw, as it blinded him to Sozin's actions, resulting in his downfall and the 100 year war.
I think Aang would cause a hat stall between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, as he’s very kind and a hard worker as well, not to mention his patience with literal every living being and how loyal he is to not just his lover, but all of his friends.
Actually Iroh checks boxes for all houses. He's a great knowledge holder and witty guy, incredibly humble loyal and fair play guy and a great leader and resourceful. He's just not that self-preserved and cunning. He can be if he chooses to though😅
Amon is practically Voldemort. Both were one thing yet they led factions that consisted entirely of people who hated said thing. Amon was a bender leading nonbenders with anti-bending sentiments and Voldemort was a half-muggle leading pure blood elitists and wizards with anti-muggle sentiments.

Individually, Sokka would be a Ravenclaw but when paired with Aang or Toph, he goes into more of a Hufflepuff style. I perceive Hufflepuff as the stoners/playful type
This was a great video. It was a fun idea, and I had a lot of fun watching. I agree with almost all of your picks. I think Toph should've been in Slytherin because she's show a lot of self-preservation and resourcefulness in learning from the badgernoles, creating metalbending, and for all the crimes she almost got away with in that one village. I also think Avatar Kuruk should've been in Gryffindor. Battling the dark spirits at the cost of his own life was incredibly brave. He only delved into hedonism because the spiritual damage he suffered caused him to go physically numb. He also showed chivalry by choosing not to crash Hei-Ran's wedding to tell her how he felt. Kuruk did have a lot of personal faults, but I think his sense of self-sacrifice should really be taken into consideration. But that's my opinion.

I see the argument for Gryffindor, but Korea has been a Slytherin for me since day one. She knows she’s the avatar, and makes it her life ambition to become it. She can be quite resourceful, and is such a leader to me. Though we don’t see it all that much, I feel her intelligence can be seen in a more Slytherin manner compared to Aang’s Ravenclaw. However, Gryffindor is a close second

I think the only one I disagree with is Katara. Katara should absolutely be a Slytherin. She is the most ambitious of the group with her determination to learn Waterbending and prove that she’s a capable fighter and not just a Healer. Her entire arc fighting against Master Pakku is just her pure ambition to prove herself. She also is very cunning when it comes to her plans like how she “poisons” Appa so they have to stay in the village longer to help the villagers. Or how determined she was to stop Hama that she went against her own ideals and used Bloodbending to win. Her ambition to find the Firebendef who killed her mom regardless of what everyone tried to do to stop her. I think she is very loyal but even then once Zulu betrayed her it took a very long time for her to trust him and forgive him even though everyone else had right away. Katara is absolutely a slytherin to me.

I think Zuko is a great example of a good slytherin, as he literally embodies ambition throughout all of his life setting out to chase and complete his true goals at all time and at all costs. His cunning shows when he for example dresses up as the blue spirit to steal aang. As a slytherin should be, he is prideful and likes to handle his problems on his own. Zuko was misguided but in the end he comes to his true senses which also closely links with slytherin as the snake is a symbol for rebirth. I like your idea of him being a hufflepuff but I myself think he fits nicely as a good slytherin where the good qualities of slytherin shine through.

Iroh definitely shares some traits with Gryffindor but he wasn't reckless or short tempered like certain Gryffindors. He was usually very calm and sensible.

Zuko and Iroh would be in Slytherin! Zuko valued ambition and status and often allied himself with people he thought would help him succeed! Iroh had a similar arc to Severus Snape with the exception that Iroh actually became a decent person whom it was a pleasure to be around. Instead of losing his closest friend like Snape he lost his son, then he realized his ambitions were not the most important thing.

Jinora - Ravenclaw: She embodies the traits of intelligence & curiosity with her love of gaining knowledge through reading, creativity & wit through her figuring out how to cross into the Spirit World & how to perform astral projection on her own & using it to help out her friends when they’re in a bind.
Ikki - Hufflepuff: Ikki develops loyal bonds to people rather quickly & this was further developed in season 4 once she settles out of her hyper activeness. She was also a hard worker, even with her overexcited nature.
Meelo - Slytherin: Even as a little kid Meelo was ambitious in his airbending abilities & this continues in season 4 as he arrogantly asked to receive his tattoos at age 9 😆. He also used his airbending in resourceful ways via fartbending!
Suyin - Slytherin: Suyin tried many different things throughout her life and her desires & ambitions led her to create her own sprawling metal metropolis of Zaofu, also demonstrating her leadership. She’s also cunning in her attempted plans to overtake the Red Lotus & Kuvira.
Opal - Hufflepuff: A lot of Opal’s characteristics are defined by her morals & loyalty to her family. She believed in hard work, fair play & honesty to a fault but this also led her to treat others harshly who didn’t always follow this code of conduct such as Bolin & Kuvira.
totally agree! and i think varick would be a ravenclaw for obvious reasons and zhu li would be a hufflepuff as she possesses immense hardwork, patience, and of course loyalty and dedication for varick

Iroh is a Ravenclaw. Gryffindors have one major flaw : pride, whereas Iroh is the most humble character of the show. He is also the wisest, each of his lines to Zuko are pure wisdom, and curious, roaming in the world, learning from the people, and this knowledge he gained allowed him to create, like Toph, a new bending technique, redirecting lighting.
To be fair tho, Iroh probably used up all his pride in his youth, so we ended up getting his old, humble self in the show proper 😉
False, iroh is like 80 in the show i think? so yeah, he would have no pride then, the comment above me makes a lot of sense.

But Gryffindor doesn't VALUE pride, it's its weakness so Iroh not having so much pride would make him more deserving of the Gryffindor title.

Slytherin has very dangerous qualities, I mean the original founder himself went evil. Too much bravery makes you kill yourself, too much knowledge makes you that annoying know it all. Too much compassion will make you a pushover. But too much Ambition will make you evil.

I think Katara is either a Gryffindor or a Slytherin. Her personality is extremely fiery and “girl boss,” much like Ginny Weasley, and she is shown throughout the series to be very willing to break rules and do anything to achieve her goals, for example stealing the water bending scroll and using blood bending to save her friends.

My philosophy would be which House does each form of bending connect with the most.
Fire-Slytherin. It sounds cliche with the whole "Slytherins are evil" trope, but when you think about the passion, drive, and ambition that fuels fire bending, there are a few connections to the emerald and silver.
Air-Ravenclaw. The air nomads were creative and intelligent, unwilling to be grounded, and according to Iroh, had pretty good senses of humor, which fit the bill for wit.
Earth-Gryffindor. Brave, uncompromising, proud, like Toph says, Earthbenders face the element head on, no tricks.
Water-Hufflepuff. Not the best explanation, but their sense of loyalty, hard work and community stick out the most to me.
Obviously, this isn't a perfect theory, and not every fire bender could be Slytherin, nor every Earthbender a Gryffindor, but it's the best explanation I've got. Your opinion could be very different from mine.
Avatar Roku is an example of how hufflepuff traits can be toxic. Loyalty was his fatal flaw, as it blinded him to Sozin's actions, resulting in his downfall and the 100 year war.
I think Aang would cause a hat stall between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, as he’s very kind and a hard worker as well, not to mention his patience with literal every living being and how loyal he is to not just his lover, but all of his friends.
You should do a vid of giving HP characters bending abilities! I think that would be really cool to see who would have what element!

Actually Iroh checks boxes for all houses. He's a great knowledge holder and witty guy, incredibly humble loyal and fair play guy and a great leader and resourceful. He's just not that self-preserved and cunning. He can be if he chooses to though😅

As a Hufflepuff, I think Zuko is a Slytherin. I love him, and he is incredibly ambitious. But really he is a mix of both Hufflepuff and Slytherin

Both were one thing yet they led factions that consisted entirely of people who hated said thing. Amon was a bender leading nonbenders with anti-bending sentiments and Voldemort was a half-muggle leading pure blood elitists and wizards with anti-muggle sentiments.
Voldemort was a half blood whom hated muggle borns. Muggle borns, Half bloods and Pure bloods are all wizards.

Individually, Sokka would be a Ravenclaw but when paired with Aang or Toph, he goes into more of a Hufflepuff style. I perceive Hufflepuff as the stoners/playful type

I agree with almost all of your picks. I think Toph should've been in Slytherin because she's show a lot of self-preservation and resourcefulness in learning from the badgernoles, creating metalbending, and for all the crimes she almost got away with in that one village.
I also think Avatar Kuruk should've been in Gryffindor. Battling the dark spirits at the cost of his own life was incredibly brave. He only delved into hedonism because the spiritual damage he suffered caused him to go physically numb. He also showed chivalry by choosing not to crash Hei-Ran's wedding to tell her how he felt. Kuruk did have a lot of personal faults, but I think his sense of self-sacrifice should really be taken into consideration. But that's my opinion.

I see the argument for Gryffindor, but Korea has been a Slytherin for me since day one. She knows she’s the avatar, and makes it her life ambition to become it. She can be quite resourceful, and is such a leader to me. Though we don’t see it all that much, I feel her intelligence can be seen in a more Slytherin manner compared to Aang’s Ravenclaw. However, Gryffindor is a close second

I think the only one I disagree with is Katara. Katara should absolutely be a Slytherin. She is the most ambitious of the group with her determination to learn Waterbending and prove that she’s a capable fighter and not just a Healer. Her entire arc fighting against Master Pakku is just her pure ambition to prove herself. She also is very cunning when it comes to her plans like how she “poisons” Appa so they have to stay in the village longer to help the villagers. Or how determined she was to stop Hama that she went against her own ideals and used Bloodbending to win. Her ambition to find the Firebendef who killed her mom regardless of what everyone tried to do to stop her. I think she is very loyal but even then once Zulu betrayed her it took a very long time for her to trust him and forgive him even though everyone else had right away. Katara is absolutely a slytherin to me.
I feel like Aang would have been a Hufflepuff, he's a hardworker (mastered all elements in under a year) and values fairplay. I see Zuko as a Gryffindor, brave and chivalrous.

I think Zuko is a great example of a good slytherin, as he literally embodies ambition throughout all of his life setting out to chase and complete his true goals at all time and at all costs. His cunning shows when he for example dresses up as the blue spirit to steal aang. As a slytherin should be, he is prideful and likes to handle his problems on his own. Zuko was misguided but in the end he comes to his true senses which also closely links with slytherin as the snake is a symbol for rebirth. I like your idea of him being a hufflepuff but I myself think he fits nicely as a good slytherin where the good qualities of slytherin shine through.

Iroh definitely shares some traits with Gryffindor but he wasn't reckless or short tempered like certain Gryffindors. He was usually very calm and sensible.

Zuko and Iroh would be in Slytherin! Zuko valued ambition and status and often allied himself with people he thought would help him succeed!
Iroh had a similar arc to Severus Snape with the exception that Iroh actually became a decent person whom it was a pleasure to be around. Instead of losing his closest friend like Snape he lost his son, then he realized his ambitions were not the most important thing.
Toph is literally a snake in the grass, lying in wait. She waits and listens before striking. Like a Slytherin.
