    Thanks for all the dragon reviews, I've built and owned five dedicated theaters in my lifetime. My last being a 7.2.4 40K build, i sold that home five year's ago and haven't had any system since i purchased the Dragon. As someone whom is a home theater freak i needed something that would suit my current needs. I'm living with my girlfriend and the Dragon was a compromise between my girlfriend and myself, a perfect solution for my current needs. I never thought is was going to be better than separates, nor did i believe it was going to be the greatest thing in home theater. I went into it with realistic expectations and i can honestly say I'm very pleased with the system and already pre-order the 12" sub once again with realistic expectations. I still think about my last home theater far to often and can't wait to build another one day but for now the dragon put a smile back on my face when I'm watching movies.

      @@Jacob-ed1bl The thing is, with the cost of these new 12" subs, the Dragon becomes very expensive. Heck, it already is one of the most expensive SB.

    • @Jacob-ed1bl
      @Jacob-ed1bl 13 днів тому +1

      @michael-4k4000 I never said it wasn't expensive, but to bring a product from the ground up to market is extremely expensive and risky, so I personally understand the asking price. If not for the situation I'm in, I wouldn't have purchased the dragon. My girlfriend wasn't going to let me run wires or have very large speakers, and even if she did, I'm not going to spend all that money time and energy in a home that isn't mine and a relationship that eventually could end. I needed something we could agree on and that I could pack up and leave in a rush if need be and satisfied my home theater addiction until I figure out where my life is going. The dragon turned out to be, although not perfect, a fantastic solution for my needs.
      Not everyone is a home theater fanatic like myself and will be perfectly happy with this easy to set up system and not get caught up in the chase for bigger, better, and perfection. That being said, I wouldn't recommend this system to anyone who plans on taking home theater to the next level. I'd without a doubt go with separates. Obviously, this is my worthless opinion and my personal experiences with home theaters and the Dragon that I wanted to share.

    Now it's clearer that Nakamichi over promised/hyped up but under delivered. The 8" ported sub is a joke, especially when NAK claimed that the subs go as low as 20 Hz?
    NAK charges $15000 for a sub is a slap in the face for Dragon owners.

    I enjoy and informed by your videos and reviews. For me, what I want to know your videos deliver. At my age, with an eye to not annoying the neighbours' music and TV played so that voice can herd alongside and or over other sound content is what's needed.
    Occasional sports event and party gathering ( no gaming, whatever that is ) requiring volumes to suit both delivering clarity would be nice. Big powerful systems in my home would never be used for fear of architecture damage and tinnitus. Your Polk review seems to fit without a remortgage.
    Thanks for all your videos. Very well done.

    I'm very interested in hearing more about how different the 12's are in terms of "feeling" the base rather than just hearing the base. You stated the 12's "outwit" the 8's but aren't physically aggressive. I was personally hoping for a more 'tactile' experience from the 12's...can you elaborate? Thanks!

The instructions are linked on their firmware page. placement is key... they don't go as low as specs claim... 🤔 where have I heard this before? jk NOT. Fool me once, fool me twice...
    Sounds like they are good subs, excellent build quality, they sound better and compliment the 8s, nice integration, placement is key, and they don't go as low as claimed (again). I need 4 of them to get the full experience? (what we should have gotten from the beginning)
    I've already gotten much more than what they offer for way less $ by connecting two SVS subs using the electronics from one of the 8" sub boxes. In my opinion, Nak's 12s are not worth $1500. I think at the end you'll be happy the Nakamichi or Mod route, they both offer way more than the original configuration, to each their own.
    I would love for you to compare the Nak 12" sub to other subs. I would not mind letting you borrow the electronics from one 8" box if you don't want to modify yours in the name of science :D Let me know ;)
