Exactly. Speed. T2. Die Hard. Action films were just masterpieces back in the day. Why can't Hollywood return to this type of style? However, word on the street is that Top Gun: Maverick brings back this type of film. It's honestly supposed to be an amazing movie. Let's hope this is the start of such movies returning to this form.
@@CoryGasaway "Why can't Hollywood return to this type of style?" Joker said it best. "It's not about the money, It's about sending a (the) message." Less emphasis on actually entertaining their audience and giving them what they want to see. More emphasis on making sure all the boxes are checked.
The villain was Dennis Hopper (1936-2010), a true legend in Hollywood. Starred with James Dean, Elizabeth Taylor, and Rock Hudson in a movie called "Giant" (1956). Had a bit part in "Rebel Without a Cause" (another famous Dean movie) a year earlier. Director of the Boomer classic "Easy Rider". Career reignited (finally!) with David Lynch's "Blue Velvet" (1986). Just felt like I needed to prop the guy up.
My dad was always critical of movies. He never said he liked this one but he paid attention the whole time (he was recoveringfrom surgery.) I asked him what he thought after and he complained about the bus jump from a mechanic's perspective, but the fact that was all he said meant he enjoyed it. His favorite movie was Bullitt.
I remember seeing this in the theater.. The last time people had seen Keanu was in Bill and Ted.. It was a shock seeing him all serious and fit... This was a break out for him for sure.. Great reaction. Thank you. 😊
Yeah, the first time I saw Keanu do action was Point Break. I remember him in the Parenthood right after Bill and Ted, and his character was basically the same. Point Break, he was still a bit 'dude', but made a fantastic action debut. It has one of my favorite chase scenes to date.
I remember how cool we thought this was when we saw it at the cinema, your reaction yet again was ace, understanding the plot, guessing what happens next etc, just like your great Predator video. Can't wait for more reactions!!!
I saw this movie about a bus that had to SPEED around a city, keeping its SPEED over fifty, and if its SPEED dropped, it would explode! I think it was called ''The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down.
The Villan was a retired disgruntled cop who felt he was unjustly not rewarded for his service at what he did for the department. He had no soul for anyone but himself. You could see how crazy he was
My favorite reaction channel by far. This movie was great when it came out. Love you guys, so genuine in your reactions and your interactions w each other. Don't ever change. Thank you again!
Keanu Reeves first film of note was River's Edge, a 1986 American crime drama starring Crispin Glover, Keanu Reeves and Dennis Hopper, in which a group of confused teenagers confront the reality of murder. Keanu and Ione Skye share an emotionally touching scene together in a park, if I recall correctly. Dennis Hopper enjoyed roles in two John Wayne films early in his career, The Sons of Katie Elder (1965), and True Grit (1969), in which he plays a horse thief who comes to a bad end.
I love this movie lol 9:13 the glass breaking wasn't planned it just happened and they left it in lol 18:22 they actually made a bus that did jump so it's as practical as possible lol 25:00 one of the biggest explosions ever lol

For a good movie with an even younger Keanu Reeves, Parenthood (1989), thats the same year he costarred in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. And for a very entertaining RomCom with Sandra Bullock, While You Were Sleeping (1995).
fun fact: keanu reeves and sandra bullock learned years later that they both had a crush on each other during film. but they have remained close friends over the years.
Love this one! Saw the it several times at the cinema when it came out. This one had me biting my nails and nervously rocking back and forth to the very end. Loved your reaction. The sequel is like a bad boyfriend…TIME YOU WILL NEVER GET BACK!
One of my all-time favorite Keanu Reeves movies, great reaction. A couple lesser-known non-action KR movies but still entertaining: "Hardball" - KR is forced to manage an inner-city little league baseball team; and "Lake House" - a chick flick with a pinch of supernatural, also co-stars Sandra Bullock.
You guys seemed confused about the airport scene the bomber can’t see them cause it’s restricted airspace news choppers are not allowed to fly there. So jack was able to get under the buss without the bomber seeing.
The movie that made Sandra Bullock famous & pretty much introduced her. She had done Demolition man with Stallone which at the time wasn't popular but had become a cult classic. The bad guy is the great Dennis Hopper. Director of Easy Rider & many other things. He's dead now
Great reaction! Keanu's first action success was Point Break, with Patrick Swayze. I hope you two have a chance to react to it. It's a bit of a self indulgent film, but you can't argue with great chase scenes, Gary Busey, and shirtless Keanu and Swayze. LOL
I had this on VHS and used to watch it all the time. It was cool rewatching it with you guys. 😊 The other movie I used to watch around the same time was THE FUGITIVE with Harrison Ford. They don't make thrillers the way they used to.

This is another fun video you guys did here! For another excellent crime drama do "The Fugitive" (1993) with Harrison Ford from Star Wars. Another great and kinda fast-paced movie "V for Vendetta" (2005) which is about the near future (around our time now) and one that will give you a lot to think about. ✌😎
Great reaction! --- You gotta do Point Break next -- with Patrick Swayze and Gary Busey --- Lori Petty is great in it too -- and If you havent seen her in A League of Their Own you must see that wonderful movie too -- With Tom Hanks and Gena Davis its fabulous
2 things re this movie: (1) the scene with the baby carriage and pop cans, Sandra Bullock didn't know about it. It was a set up and her reaction was real, (2) the scene where they slid across the tarmac at the airport was originally the end of the movie. The studio asked for 15 more minutes so the subway derailing was added as a second ending. PS ... don't watch Speed 2
When I saw this in the theater with my best friend, it was the same day of O.J. Simpson's infamous white Bronco chase. During the part where Jeff Daniels and the swat team are creeping outside the bombers house, my friend yelled "That's O.J.'s house!" and the entire theater erupted in laughter right when the bomb went off which made them laugh even harder. Probably the funniest moment I've ever had at the movies. 😂😂😂😂
I always loved this movie, but my biggest issue with it was that Hopper said that he spent years setting up the elevator job, but he managed to set up the bus job in a matter of days. The bus was far more elaborate. Of course I'm not counting the bus jump as a problem. I just shrug it off as movie physics.
