The red headed Doctor is Julianne Moore. She was supposed to have a much bigger role in the movie. Originally, the script was to have Kimble shack up with her and her help him. There was going to be a romance between the two. Someone came to their senses and realized that Harrison Ford's character had literally just lost his wife and it wouldn't make sense for him to so quickly hook up with another woman and so the script was changed
I wonder if that idea originally came from a screenwriter or if it was a result of studio executives' "input." (A writer should know better, but execs are notorious for being clueless about such things.)
WOW! I had no idea. Thanks for the insight.
No, it was because she refused to show her boobs in the sex scene
yep and at one point there was gonna be a reveal that the one arm man was a hired by Kimball's father in law who is the head doctor promoting the pharmacy product. however instead they changed the doctor to be his friend believing the father accidently haveing one of his daughters killed would confess. I say one of his daughters because in the script kimball's sister in law would be his love interest and she would tell him once she finds out the truth about her father who wanted kimball killed but instead the one arm man in his recklessness killed his daughter instead with Kimball only living because he was luckily called for a unplanned surgery. however they realized that was also to condiluted
whoooaaa I never knew that. thanks for that fun fact
The train crash looks real because they actually ran a locomotive and some freightcars off the track.
The locomotive was about to be scrapped, and is missing the diesel engine-block and the generator, but is otherwise complete.
Marion is always hilarious with his enthusiasm for movies. Gotta love it!!
I always wait for him to go...."GAME OVER!" ;)
Now, I recommend Tommy Lee Jones again in U.S Marshalls & Men in Black 2&3.
And Lonesome Dove
This movie was actually inspired by a 1950's era tv series, which ran for at least two years. The series finale was famous as one of the first "event" incidents that captured the attention of the whole country. There the last episode was about the final confrontation with tbe one armed man, Sam Gerard, and Richard Kimble. The series stars were David Janssen as Kimble and Barry Morse as Gerard.
I am from the Chicago suburbs. Those two reporters asking questions were actual Chicago reporters, "Bulldog" John Drummond, and Pam Zeckman.
Great movie and the TVseries from the 60s was good too
Great reaction!! The wife was indeed just collateral damage. In the flashbacks in the beginning, they showed that Kimble was unexpectedly called into a surgery on the drive home from the party. The killer was expecting Richard to arrive home with his wife, not knowing about that development, and instead just encountered her.
I never realized that! 😮
Tommy Lee Jones reprises this character in, "U.S. Marshall". It also has Wesley Snipes and Robert Downey Jr. ✌️
The guy who snitched on Richard Kimble on the train is my former professor Juan A. Ramirez. He auditioned for the role when he was teaching me. :)
Check out the movie "Backdraft" with Kurt Russell. Juan is in it, too.
Movie is based on a sixties tv series of the same name with David Jansson. Tommy Lee Jones won an oscar for this movie. Thanx guys.
YES!! I love this movie!! It's one of my mom's favorites, it became a family classic. Glad you watched it :D
Same! My mom ❤ Harrison Ford too
Yes! Me 2
Witness, Regarding Henry, and Presumed Innocent are three other great Harrison Ford movies.
I lo-o-o-ove "Regarding Henry"! "Witness" is good, too!
Add also, "US Marshals"
Yes happy to see you watching this movie, please check out U.S Marshalls which is something of a sequel to this movie starting TommyLee Jones, Wesley Snipes and Robert Downey Jr.
They probably will
the film was pretty good but the tv series it was based on got into trouble cause in the final show the real killer was caught and the fugitive vindicated which meant it was hard to sell the show in syndication to local tv stations because everybody knew the ending⚛😀
This is one of those movies that every time it comes on, I have to watch it. As I get older the more I can see how this is more relevant to how corrupt the pharmaceutical companies can get these days.
Damn right on both points!
John Drummond, the TV reporter in the news coverage scenes was a longtime crime reporter in Chicago. As a Chicagoan, this lent a lot of authenticity to those scenes. Pam Zekman is in there to at some point.
This Movie was Based on a very popular 60's TV show, which was based on the True story of Dr. Sam Shepard who was found guilty of killing his wifebut later proven Innocent!
Second biggest money-maker of 1993 (after Jurassic Park). People these days are often oblivious to the fact that this was based on a TV series from the 60s that was very popular and endlessly rerun on TV through the 70s and 80s. A shame that they only made one movie (unless you count US Marshals) because I thought it could have been a great film franchise.
This is an amazing movie. Sam Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones) is charismatic in this movie. If you like this you should check out the other movie with Sam Gerard in it. U.S. Marshals. Also starring Blade and Iron Man. Both movies are great. I wanna say US Marshals is my fav because I saw it more times, but The fugitive makes that hard. So I love them both equally.
I second the recommendation for U.S. Marshals.
@@richardzinns5676 Right!
My favorite Tommy Lee Jones performance, no question!
Just started watching & first thing that came to mind was how many times Marian will say “game over”! 😅
Another movie you should watch, in this same genre (Accused man trying to clear his name), is "The Negotiator" (1998), starring Samuel L. Jackson, Kevin Spacey, J.T. Walsh, David Morse and Paul Giamatti.
"The Usual Suspects" is another great one and a smart movie. "La Confidential" too if they haven't already watched either films.
Harrison Ford really did break his leg during the bus/train wreck scene. He limped the whole rest of the movie.
MJoy4Fun, The lady in the car at night who stops to pick up hitch hicking, Richard Kimble. This one scene is a little homage` to the original T.V. show. In the show as Kimble moved around the country sometimes by hitch hicking, occasionally the driver would be a woman or a family, once even a Nun. Sometimes they would be part of hours story and other times the driver was only there to take Kimble to or from his next destination. You now need to watch Harrison Ford in the movie "Witness" or " What lies Beneath." Cheers, Chris Perry.
I would suggest viewers take a gander at "The Executioner's Song." This was Tommy Lee Jones' first starring role for which he won an Emmy.
yes also check him out in jackson county jail⚛😀
“Game over!” Everyone drink 🍺
They did actually crash a train for the film, apparently it’s still at the location and is now a tourist attraction.
Tommy Lee Jones, who played U.S. Marshal Samuel Gerard, is one of my all time favorite actors. He is grizzled, gruff, and impressive.
You should check out "Double Jeopardy," "Volcano," and "Space Cowboys."
Fun fact: the wreckage left by the train is still there next to the river as a tourist attraction I believe in North Carolina
A masterpiece of a thriller!!! Please watch "part 2"
US Marshalls from 1998
This Time Wesley Snipes get chased by
Tommy Lee Jones a super good sequel.
This is a great movie and very rewatchable. Fact- the script was practically nonexistant so 70% of the dialogue was improvised by Harrison Ford, Tommy Lee Jones and all the rest. Jones got a well deserved Oscar for this role too. It seems so polished and put together but it was supposedly a hot mess from changing directors, changes in plot, changes in ending, no time as deadlines gave them little time etc..etc...Yet it seems so well plotted, acted and scripted. It's truly a great movie and hats off to everyone involved. I think sometimes Ford gets overlooked for the awards because he was just as good as Jones. I really felt empathy for him when he was sitting in the Police station traumatized by his wife's death and then realizes they are blaming him for the crime. He must be a great actor because I really "felt" his grief in that scene. I really love this channel and their reactions to movies because they seem to "get it" like some other reactors do not and miss things but this couple caught everything and that is refreshing.
The train wreck is one of the best stunts ever! A hillarious tie in. The funniest TV show ever, scrubs. One of the interns is convinced that the janitor, is in this movie! I won't ruin it for u but type in here, Scrubs TV show and the fugitive movie! This was based on a real case about a doctor, in the 50s!
I think it was the Corridor Crew that talked about this train derailment looking so real because it was a real train. It turned out to be cheaper to just use a real train.
Great reaction 🔥💯 my favorite movie
Yesss!!! You guys finally reacted to one of my favorite movies. I love your channel btw.✊🏾💯🔥
Second part is one of the best action films in history!
This was a very entertaining movie, great actors, intrigue, and action.
One the best movie of the 90's ! 👍😒🇺🇸🇮🇹🇲🇽
No body plays the common man better than Harrison Ford. You should watch is other more serious movies like Frantic, The Jack Ryan Movies and Air Force One.
Great reaction! Thank you!
Can you guess what I liked in particular ?! … that “aualeu, (that was so bad)”, just after Charles hit Cosmo in the face wit that iron thing in the laundry room. That simply made my day - I’m sure you know why. You’re doing just great, guys. You’re among the best movie reactors out there.
Take care and stay safe.
Salutations from Romania …
His friend had played a Bond villain, so I never really bought that he was a good guy at the time. In fact he played a Bond villain who started out as a sympathetic defector.
This movie was awesome. Ford and Jones keep you rooting for them both. And they are on opposite sides!
Joy you pick qll of the hints so quickly! I need to see what other mysteries you have...
Under Siege 1992 was another movie by the same director Andrew Davis. The cop leader Tommy Lee Jones was also in that movie playing a villain. I think you will like that one too.
The train wreck scene was real. It's in Dillsboro, North Carolina and the wrecked train cars are still visible to this day.
Yay, finally back to a movie I’ve seen before. Missed you guys. 2 of the best movie sleuths. I think you’ll enjoy The Talented Mr.Ripley.
You guys could be one of the first if not the first to react to the sequel "U.S. Marshalls" again with Tommy Lee Jones
Don't forget Tommy Lee Jones was in Captain America: The first Avenger
Great reaction. Terrific movie.
Another good suspenseful movie with Tommy Lee Jones is The Client, also starring Susan Sarandon
Good movie and great reaction
R.I.P. Johnny Lee Davenport (Henry).
If you want to see a young, handsome Tommy Lee Jones in a thriller from the 70s, “the Eyes of Laura Mars” is excellent. He plays a NYC detective and Faye Dunaway is a fashion photographer.
Harrison Ford is sweet in “Working Girl” an 80s hit rom-com with Melanie Griffith and Sigourney Weaver.
A true thriller is “Bonnie and Clyde” faye dunaway and Warren Beatty.
This movie 🎬 is a classic! Great reaction!
The two cops questioning kimble have been in other movies filmed in chicago playing chicago cops because the are retired chicago cops ! The one with the gray hair was the cop drinking in the bar that harvey dent killed in the dark knight 😮😮
This is a great movie based on the classic tv series of the same name.
That would be cool if a reaction channel would react to the old TV series. If you can get a hold of them .
Gotta watch *U.S. Marshall* After that !
Awesome movie. Thanks 😂for your reaction, love your channel. Can't remember when I subscribed. Maybe 1 year ago. Hello from Pa USA ❤❤. 😂
I won the VHS cassette of this mie from local radio station in 94 ... VCRs were about $500 in today's money....Sela Ward the murdered wife was Dr House gf for a bit
tommy lee jones won a oscar for this
Of course, this movie has a major logical flaw (which I didn't realize until I had seen it a few times). All the "detective work" he was so eager to do when he escaped could have been done much more effectively BEFORE his trial. He was a very wealthy guy, so he could have delayed his trial for a YEAR, easily. He could have hired an army of private investigators to do what he was able to do in a few days -- while being a fugitive, lol. Now they made some reference to this -- they said they had checked out the one-arm guy, and he was out of town, etc. Well, all they would have to do is show his PICTURE to Richard, and he could have said yeah, that's the guy who killed my wife. If it could be solved in a couple of days, with only a fugitive working on it, it could have been solved in a YEAR, with professional investigators.
Great reaction.
Another great reaction from y'all! You might like "The Firm" , with Tom Cruise. Good chases and suspense like The Fugitive.
Game over, no wait, yeah, Game over
You two are fun ^__^
Harrison Ford was not originally cast for the role of Dr. Richard Kimble. Instead, a number of actors were auditioned for the part, including Alec Baldwin, Nick Nolte, Kevin Costner, and Michael Douglas. Nick Nolte in particular felt he was too old for the role (though he is only a year older than Ford). According to Harrison Ford in a 2023 interview with James Hibberd of The Hollywood Reporter, he pursued the role of Richard Kimble due to his liking to play characters who aren't like him in addition of his desire to grow a beard or a moustache for a role, which then Warner Bros. chairman Robert A. Daly often denied due to paying to see his face unchanged. Although the role of Sam Gerard went to Tommy Lee Jones, Gene Hackman and Jon Voight were both considered for the role. The character of Dr. Charles Nichols was recast for Jeroen Krabbé after the original actor who landed the role, Richard Jordan, fell ill with a brain tumor. Jordan died three weeks after the film's release.
Train crash was a real train.
"True Romance" hahaha
making of train wreck scene

This is a good one. I'm sure you'll like it.
The one-armed-man also played as an alien in Babylon 5.
Citizen G'Kar. Possibly the best role Andreas Katsulas ever played. JMS and the other actors have also said how much he loved playing G'Kar. There's a conversation J. Michael Straczynski relates about Andy (Andreas):
Andreas Katsulas: Rather than pronouncing my character's name GUH-Kar, I'm going to pronounce it ZHUH-kar.
Me: Why?
AK: I've decided I'm French.
Me: Okay.
😄
Good thing he wasn't convicted in some of the southern states. Sometimes after you're proven innocent they still won't let you out of prison.
Just a damn good movie.
This is still among my favorite thrillers. I still think they should have just left this as a one off, but I can understand why they tried to keep Samuel Gerard going in the US Marshals spin-off since Tommy Lee played the part so well. Thanks for another good reaction, and I'll be watching for your future ones.
I liked it as a young teen, way back when, 💖LOVED💝 it as a movie! NEVER believed the Dr killed his wife, still don't, but, 9×'s outta' 10, it's the, "significant other". Was the Dr the True killer, or was it a totally diiferent other person?
If you like Tommy Lee Jones you should react to The Missing. It's a western starring him and Cate Blanchette. It's really good..
More Tommy Lee Jones: JFK, also stars Kevin Costner.
How is it possible for Joy to be more beautiful every day?
The sequel was almost as good. I t was called U.S. Marshals. He was chasing Wesley Snipes, only Wesley Snipes was a CIA agent.
Watch the Sequel !
Have you seen "what lies beneath"?
I wonder if they have watched Absolute Power 1997 with Clint Eastwood or Heist 2001 with Gene Hackman, Heat 1995 is also a good one.
They really derailed a train and it's still where they left it.
Your chemistry is nice 🙏
great reaction. If you ever get the chance watch the TV series The Fugitive 1960 series. It's really good and this movie is base on it.
Watch Lonesome Dove
😀
✌️❤️❤️!...
This is a awesome movie 🎥 I love looking at classic chicago 😎🥹❤️
