    Getting them all clustered up with the singing sword was such a cool trick - I love that chain reaction popping off.

      Feel like a shepherd when I do it 😅

    Ok, I am definitely stealing this strat. I usually do the wall of fire and kite the mound but I haven't thought of using Phalar Aluve there to group them first. Good job, very clean fight!

      Thanks and go ahead! It's quite solid I'd say.

    daamn you make it look so easy! i like that little scene with bex and danis too, seems like shadowheart is softening up, but not so much to lose her snarkiness haha

      Glad you like it! She's softening up a bit yes :D Working towards that non-dj run

    Basically judo: use your opponents' strength against themselves. Fitting for a monk

    Oof. I actually had a smokepowder barrel from the Goblin Camp (I think it was anyways) and exploded it here with a fire bolt and Karlach just standing there. XD

      Karlach's so awesome :D. Another origin I want to run at some point!

    My first playthrough my halfling bard took one look and decided to skip the mound and its' friends. Chuckles.

      @FriendlyLich  7 днів тому +1

      🤣 Well the mound IS kind of big compared to a halfling

    3:39 so the boss can see you, pull you up with its legendary action but you still remain 'cloaked' or in shadows enabling you to make sneak attacks? nice mechanic. is it unique for shadow monks or do rogues have the same mechanic?

    • @FriendlyLich
      @FriendlyLich  3 дні тому

      I'm not cloaked here, I believe it's the elixir that makes Shadowheart look stealthy/somewhat invisible. I like to go for stunning strike and then sneak attack (or shadow step and then sneak attack).

    I have trouble with this encounter even with a barrelmancy mage, nice job XD

      Thanks! It is tough if you just fight it head on. Also, herding the creatures before starting up helps a lot as you saw :)

      Thanks. Only got an ASI dex but I am using that elixir yes. 😊

    If you had a couple arrows of many targets, you would’ve probably killed all the small ones leaving the mount with around 50% health from the explosions.
    Especially after grouping them up like that.
    I usually open that fight, using arrow of many targets to surprise them and often destroying some of them in the first round.
    Going to try grouping them, like you did next time and see how it will play out for me.
    P.S Arrows of many targets are insane against large groups of enemies especially when you use them with a archer build.

    • @FriendlyLich
      @FriendlyLich  6 днів тому +1

      Good tip! I haven't played around much with arrows beyond the basic fire/ice/acid stuff so I don't know much about how good they are. Good input!

      @@FriendlyLich The "special" arrows, like arrow of many targets, arrow of Dragon slaying etc. are extremely good when used with a archer build.
      Arrow of many targets also works perfectly with the Banshee bow, 1 arrow and fear multiple enemies at once almost feels like cheating sometimes.

    • @FriendlyLich
      @FriendlyLich  6 днів тому +1

      @ the combo with banshee bow is something I’ve been wanting to use, just haven’t found a place just yet where I want to use it. Seems super good as you say (and fear effects are quite awesome in general I think)

      @@FriendlyLich Act 3 has multiple fights with many enemies at once, so perfect place for testing. The house of Grief (Shadowhearts parents) has multiple melee enemies and I always lock one side of enemies in place with some kind of crowd control like fear, icy terain so they keep falling down while dealing with the other half.
      So basically 50% of the enemies can't do anything, because they can't get to me. Scrolls of fear also have a pretty big aoe range and hit most or all targets when used with a caster build.
      Then again, this game has so many utilities you can use in a fight. I always end up with tons of scrolls and arrows left when I reach the final fight.

    Haha jk. Great job. I always skip that thing. It spit on me then swallowed me whole once... never again.

      Thanks 😅. It’s awful being cursed by the dice. Yesterday I rolled three nat 1’s in the same round with a single character 🥲
