I have a ‘19 CX-9 and it’s an amazing vehicle for the price. Mazda is punching way above their weight class, to say I have been impressed is an understatement.
Amazing review by Jim, a cut above most motor journalists. And what he said about CX9 being an absolute premium car without the badge summarizes it. You get a premium product but without the douchebaggery of it.
Its all we need, back seat leg space, rear ventilation, LED, 360 camera & most importantly BOSE speaker! Wish Mazda 3 sedan has all this. Jim, I admire & impressed with your presentation as well. Well done!
Just purchased the 2022 CX-9 Grand Touring - it's a GREAT vehicle! Wow!!! JIM, "thank you" for your very informative and insightful review!!! *****A++++++
I really enjoyed this review because I got myself a CX-9 signature 2022 and completely agree with what you said. Now what’s interesting is that in Malaysia you guys get a different infotainment system, which seems to be updated compared to what we get in North America. We don’t have the tactile screen for CarPlay, and CarPlay is wired only, not wireless…
From what I heard, the decision to retain the old infotainment screen for ASEAN / South East Asia is actually a decision from Mazda Japan themselves. As to why they did that, I am not sure. It would probably either be too expensive...........or due to shortage of certain automotive and electronic components (e.g. Russian invasion of Ukraine), they decided to only limit it to leading markets for the vehicle like North America and Australia / New Zealand.
Outstanding review Sir. I especially liked how you didn’t point out certain characteristics of other car makers, in comparison to the CX 9. ......Value, quality, looks, and luxurious descriptions were very incognito, to which the best selling point to me, is by word of mouth. Driver, and passenger experience plays a very good part in my eyes, as opposed to “ name brand “ autos. I’ve owned Mazda products since 2008. But I still keep an opened mind, not being biased about one maker over another. Just in my experience in Mazda, it has always rendered me no issues whatsoever. I will definitely pull the trigger on purchasing the new CX9 here in the near future. Thanks for a very open minded, and honest review....it sure helped, but then again, it’s Mazda 🇺🇸🇵🇭🇺🇸🇵🇭🙏😇👍
Hi there...Plan to purchase the used one preferably 2018 about RM 198 000. 4WD.....Is there any marked different between the current one 2021/2022 ? Appreciate your input...Anyway your presentation is good...thanks
I agree this is the best driving car in its class. I drove everything and purchased this one. I do like the car and don't regret my decision, however, the engineers don't put much thought into anything other than the drive train. The lane assist is pointless. All it does is vibrate the wheel if you get out of lane. The electronics are mediocre. The computer display is not integrated, just a monitor cut into the dash. The menu system is not well thought out. Definitely not designed for cold weather. The cameras fog up quickly and the advanced features are disabled. The mirrors automatically retract when the car is parked and will freeze in place making them unusable for driving. Just trying to keep it real.
I 100% agree with you. The powertrain engineering is great but the manufacturing appears substandard over time. I own a 2017 Cx9 GT. I have had many things that have broken apart
Ppl will say "for that price?? you can get a BMW X5!!!!" But I'll be "Yeah, but a CX-9 is more rare in Malaysia, there are more X5 than CX-9 on the road!!"
The top of the line version has captain chairs in the second row with center console like the front row. Also has the better Napa leather quilted seats. The newer 2021 and above model has the longer widescreen monitor. This is more like the middle line.
This blokes sniffing is so distracting. Quite unprofessional for a car reviewer. Maybe he's got covid, but he needs to blow his nose. It was so bad I had to stop watching and find another/better reviewer.

It's under the radar cuz of the pricing & 2 rows suv is adequate 4 most in this region. But seriously handsome suv & I always stare @ 1 when 1 see 1!🤩
You're right, it is a good looker!
You knocked out of the park bro. Great review.
Very enticing review . . Its final , I will get this car . Thanks to you man .😊
Well said.
My sis got herself one of these gems :)
I guess who watching cx9,cx8,xc90 mosly waiting 3rd row review for practicality, adult n child comfort, putting extra child seat there..gettin/out.

great clear explanatory review 👍🏼
Dream Car
like the way u present the video feels like monologue kind of thing..🎉 btw the car looked gorgeous.
Is this a grand touring or a signature?
You say 7 seater in the title, but you do not show us any of the spaces from the second and third row seats... 🤦🏻♂️
Ppl will say "for that price?? you can get a BMW X5!!!!"
But I'll be "Yeah, but a CX-9 is more rare in Malaysia, there are more X5 than CX-9 on the road!!"
Mazda uses that 2.5t in almost everything they build big or small.Cx9 needs more power to be competitive
Well said I concur with you.
I tot this is 7 seater SUV. But why u didn't cover about it on Rear Section? 🤔
You're right, sorry about that. We regret not covering that adequately.
Exactly was scrubbing to see when he covered it or did I miss it. Pointless to have the video with a title of 7-seater and nothing about the 3rd row
Is this the top-of-the-line variant?
If so, then I find it strange that Malaysian-spec version does not have the Digital Speedometer.....

@@grimreaper2755 Captain chairs like in the Australia-spec version? You guys get those?
Oh wow that is interesting.
Nice Flighty 😃
Menarik 👍🏻
AU version gets the 10" non touch screen. Much higher definition.
