20% off during launch week!
The Stanley Parable is a first person exploration game. You will play as Stanley, and you will not play as Stanley. You will follow a story, you will not follow a story. You will have a choice, you will have no choice. The game will end, the game will never end. Contradiction follows contradiction, the rules of how games should work are broken, then broken again. This world was not made for you to understand.
But as you explore, slowly, meaning begins to arise, the paradoxes might start to make sense, perhaps you are powerful after all. The game is not here to fight you; it is inviting you to dance. - Ігри
Stanley read this comment and was completely unmoved by its contents. In fact, he was beginning to feel as though he was wasting his time still reading it. As he continued reading, he thought of how the comment's attempt to read his mind and be witty was simply pathetic. Perhaps he would dislike it, or make a mean reply. But then Stanley realized that the comment was intended to waste his time.
Well done.
+Free lix (Freelix2000) WOW, well done.
+Free lix (Freelix2000) The poster reading this comment could take solace in the fact that at least he wasted his time reading a comment that wasn't simply "First!"
+Free lix (Freelix2000) How did you know?
Stanley sat there in the comment section for 8 months, wondering how to react to this seemingly pointless comment. It's a wonder how such a useless, time wasting comment such as this managed to get 99 likes, and five replies telling the anonymous poster how apparently clever the comment was. What was it about this comment that was so clever anyway? Stanley couldn't see it. In fact, Stanley felt enraged that a comment like this could receive so much love and admiration, despite having absolutely no significance to anything at all. This comment, he thought, hasn't done diddly squat to another soul. He would literally be better off doing anything else than reading it. Stanley felt that this comment needed to be stopped. That it could not continue to waste anymore of his time, or anyone else's. Would he be the one to stand up to this comment, and to all the people who have worshiped its nonexistent awe?
But at last, he decided it would be best to simply join the crowd, and he congratulated the anonymous poster for their unrivaled wit. Good job, poster, you are truly an inspiring inspiration.
He's what makes the game. Seriously. Every ending you feel differently about him, in some he's evil, in some he's nice, and there is one ending in particular where you feel really sad for him. You'll get used to him, and you'll get to love him. You'll learn he's just as trapped as Stanley... and yourself.
Just art in its purest form. I can't stress how much awesome this game is. It will be remembered for sure.
Rafael Nelvam wtf
AHA! I HAVE FINALLY FOUND YOU, RAFAEL! WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY FOR YOURSELF? ARE MY EMOTIONS NOT PURE ENOUGH FOR THIS GAME? ARE YOUR OWN LOGIC AND PRECONCEPTIONS OF SUCH A HIGH CALIBER THAT NO ONE ELSE MAY HOPE TO REACH YOUR HIGH STANDARDS?! ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?!?!?
correct
stanley
Oh Stanley, you didn't just activate the controls, did you? After they kept you enslaved all these years you go and you try to take control of the machine for yourself, is that want you wanted? Control? Oh...Stanley. *sigh* I applaud your effort, I really do, but you need to understand; there's only so much that machine can do. You were supposed to let it go, turn the controls off, and leave. If you want to throw my story off track, you're going to have to do much better than that. I'm afraid you don't have nearly the power you think you do; for example, and I believe you'll find this pertinent: Stanley suddenly realized that he had just initiated the network's emergency detonation system. In the event that this machine is activated without proper DNA identification, nuclear detonators are set to explode, eliminating the entire complex. How long until detonation, then? Hmm...let's say, um...two minutes. [Lights turn on, as well as a humongous countdown clock] Ah, now this is making things a little more fun, isn't it, Stanley? It's your time to shine! You are the star! It's your story now; shape it to your heart's desires. Ooh, this is much better than what I had in mind! What a shame we have so little time left to enjoy it. Mere moments until the bomb goes off, but what precious moments each one of them is! More time to talk about you, about me, where we're going, what this all means...I barely know where to start! What's that? You'd like to know where your co-workers are? A moment of solace before you're obliterated? Alright. I'm in a good mood, and you're going to die anyway. I'll tell you exactly what happened to them: I erased them. I turned off the machine; I set you free. Of course, that was merely in this instance of the story. Sometimes when I tell it, I simply let you sit there in your office forever, pushing buttons endlessly and then dying alone. Other times, I let the office sink into the ground, swallowing everyone inside; or I let it burn to a crisp. I have to say this, though, this version of events has been rather amusing. Watching you try to make sense of everything and take back the control wrested away from you...it's quite rich. I almost hate to see it go! But I'm sure whatever I come up with on the next go around will be even better. My goodness! Only 34 seconds left...but I'm enjoying this so much! You know what? To hell with it. I'm going to put some extra time on the clock; why not! These are precious additional seconds, Stanley. Time doesn't grow on trees! Oh, dear me, what's the matter, Stanley? Is it that you have no idea where you are going or what you're supposed to be doing right now? Or did you just assume when you saw that timer that something in this room is capable of turning it off? I mean, look at you, running from button to button, screen to screen, clicking on every little thing in this room! These numbered buttons! No! These colored ones! Or maybe this big, red button! Or this door! Everything! Anything! Something here will save me! Why would you think that, Stanley? That this video game can be beaten, won, solved? Do you have any idea what your purpose in this place is? Hahaha, heh, Stanley...you're in for quite a disappointment. But here's a spoiler for you: that timer isn't a catalyst to keep the action moving along. It's just seconds ticking away to your death. You're only still playing instead of watching a cutscene because I want to watch you for every moment that you're powerless, to see you made humble. This is not a challenge. It's a tragedy. You wanted to control this world; that's fine. But I'm going to destroy it first, so you can't. Take a look at the clock, Stanley. That's 30 seconds you have left to struggle. Thirty seconds until a big boom, and then nothing. No ending here, just you being blown to pieces. Will you cling desperately to your frail life, or will you let it go peacefully? Another choice! Make it count. Or don't. It's all the same to me. All a part of the joke. And believe me, I will be laughing at every second of your inevitable life, from the moment we fade in until the moment I say: Happily Ever- [everything explodes, game restarts] But you really believe there’s an answer! How many times will you replay this bit, looking desperately for a solution? Ten? A hundred? A thousand? I look forward to finding out, and to watching the bomb go off each time you fail. Just you and me and the retching explosion of fire and metal over and over and over for all of eternity. And Stanley died again. And Stanley died again. And Stanley died again.
count how many times the is stanley in that text...
It’s ironic given that you can actually _meet_ “Art” in it’s divine essence in this game!
Raphael would disapprove of this trailer
Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley.

This game is so self aware, I'm surprised it hasn't turned sentient and turned on its creators.
you'd be surprised........

You could probably write an entire essay about that bloody elevator.
You could write an entire 10k word essay on the beginning.

I know I would love to read it....
Eter Puralis I would, too.
Or the Fern.
Congrats to Rafael for receiving the "Don't play for 5 years" achievement today.
Anyone else hear "Stanley stepped into the broom closet" at 1:20?
I LOVE THE BROOM CLPSET ENDING, IT'S MY FAVORITE
WoW, did you got the broom closet ending? It is my favorite!

I just finished it. It is VERY replayable, because of how good it is. A movie is about 1-2 hours long, and I just spent about four playing this over. There are so many different endings, you'll keep playing. Trust me.
I think this game mocks gamers: sitting in a room, behind a computer, pushing the buttons the game makes you push, feeling what the game makes you feel.
Also the narrator says his life is nothing: he is just doing what he is told to do until he dies.
who the fuck cares, nerd
Noah Fricker omg you are a god
RAISES PAINIS!
Noah Fricker you, apparently... XD
Good job replying to a 26 week old comment, nerd
Jason Schneijder Is this, Raphael?
You need to make a sequle. The Raphale Parable, or The Norrator Parable!!!
Shay Sela NORRRRRATTTTOR PARABBBBLLEEE!!
STANLEY.
+Shay Sela definitely
+Shay Sela Stanley saw this comment. He remarked that the word sequel has been spelt wrong.
+Ben Ward "Raphale loathed his name that his mother had given him, mainly because she was too drunk during the childbirth to spell his name correctly."
Can you guys please make another Stanley Parable game? It doesn't have to be a direct sequel, just in the same world. And with the Narrator returning pretty please!
2 years later and your wish has been granted
@@CraigSnedeker I know right? I just saw the trailer for the Ultra Deluxe.

The narrators makes the game better
More dialogue
What do mean The Last of Us 2 is also coming out this year?
Gaming world need more games like this.
Ain't nothing koming like dis one
+Res Bck then shame on us. We should go out to the streets and make a riot
They made another one called "The Begginer's Guide". I've heard it's as good if not better (I'm planning on playing it myself soon).
Try "The Begginer's Guide", by the main author of Stanley's. Is excellent! And explores further into gaming. The co-dev did something called... wait for it... Dr. Langeskov, the Tiger and the Terribly Cursed Emerald: A whirlwind heist. Yes I got tired typing it. Is a good game too, it has a very, very, very similar flavour to Stanley's too. There you go. :)
the end is never
LegionMammal978 is never the end
Is never the end
the end is *LOADING*
the end is never the end
The Narrator kind of frightens me, though.
Thats probably the point. His constant, patronizing presence is supposed to make you feel insignificant.
diromiz yeh, a bit of an eerie guy if you ask me
You'll shit bricks when you find the explosion ending
I hear Kevin Spacey

I want its soundtrack. Nuff said.
I played this game for the first time on LSD and it was the single most engaging thing I've ever done in my life, my mind was blown, I laughed a lot, and the narrator followed me out of the game for a few hours

God, this game deserves a movie. I can imagine it being FANTASTIC...

You helped me figure out a better ending to my AU about a video game and you touched me truly I only just finished all the endings thank you thank you 😭😂❤
damn never this this kind of thank you before
Thank you for your comment Pie Girl~👍
I'd thought that having a world filled with monsters and demons would be the scariest thing, and then I played this...
A world where it's just me, my character, the narrator, and that's it. It was the scariest thing for me. I'd rather be surrounded by monsters and demons than be mostly alone. It was the exact kind of nightmare I've had in mind for a long time, but I had realized this one came first, beating my own idea of my worst dreams made real: uncity. It had the effect I wanted in a gaming experience, and I can't beat that. It's perfect.
It's been 8 years now we're expecting the ("STANLEY PARABLE ULTRA DELUXE")
Played the demo last night, purchased full game this morning. Must say it frigging fantastic so far!
Best game I've ever played
2019 anyone?
2022 still love this game and I want to make a game that's similar. Thank you devs!
Still missed 9 years for this game
I heard it's finally available on Mac. FINALLY!
Hahaha Mac and gaming = joke
REVO REVOO being a fanboy = joke.
***** Responding to a troll = joke
SirMadHornet you got me there.
***** SirMadHornet REVO REVOO By your guys' logic and the transitivity rule of equality follows: Mac and gaming = being a fanboy = Responding to a troll
This doesn't make any sense. I therefore showed that all of you guys are using the equality sign INCORRECTLY. Now continue with your lives.
Or don't.
Thank you Kevan Brighting
Thank you thank you thank you
Especially for the Raphael Parable
But thank you for giving such voice to the Narrator
Thank you 😭😂❤
ah the first time the game came out it was and is beautiful
I can't get enough of this. Even after playing the original mod and the demo (which was hilarious and worth playing even if you've bought the game already) this game never fails to surprise me.
It's been years, and I'm still hoping for The Stanley Parable 2
me too and i am still playing
Well do I have news for you
This game has the distinct ability to feel more unnerving, disturbing, and concerning than any horror game ever made.
Getting myself this game this Sunday. Been eyeing it for a while now. The excitement is real! It gives off a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy vibe imho
As a man now of tyhe fututr ein this comments section, I just want to say this was a great game, ive watched several playthroughs and would love to see a game like this return. I dont have twitter so ima leave this here and hope you see it brother
Even after 4 years, I still love this game
Will there be a stanly parable 2 or something like the stanly parable because I enjoyed it :)
They said they would make a sequel when galactic cafe was approaching bankruptcy.
***** But all of the original surprise would be gone. You would know what would happen if you took the door on your left. A sequel would provide another door on the celing! Or the Floor! Or on one of the other doors!
SuperHamsterhuey
Certain games should do without sequels. This is a game that makes a point and leaves.
***** Yes, but I would love for some more doors to walk through. I genuinely wish I contracted amnesia so I can forget everything about this game, then play it again
imcintyre01 Personally I would love a shorter game which commented on the idea of sequels and their nature in this industry.
I still play this game and I had it for like 5 years or something
Those were the days... such good memories

Stanley parable ultra deluxe in this year!!! Yeh.
The Stanley Parable is perhaps the most engaging narrative experience in the last several years of gaming. While others have been very vague about explaining the game in order to keep from spoiling it, I intend to create the most in-depth, precise evaluation of the game possible. Be warned that this will ruin your interest in purchasing the game, as you would already know the twists and secrets. The Stanley Parable begins with you, staring at a monitor, watching a video, and looking at the comme

let's begin again stanley parable 2
I hope that yall make The Stanley Parable 2. The first one is one of the best games I've ever played.
I would love to see a dark variant of The Stanley Parable in the style of Kafka.
Why are the ads for this game so mildly terrifying?
It accurately depicts the mental breakdown caused by an existential crisis

There's no bucket in Non-Ultra Deluxe but Ultra Deluxe did

Happy 10 year anniversary to this awesome game!
would be nice to see a sequel, this time one that does not bore after 2 hours of gameplay.
It bores after 2 hours of gameplay because you should have beaten it in an hour and a half
Pls upload......something

Wow..it's been 8 years!i didn't play deluxe yet but im exicited and i still wonder how does the narrartor sounds like since it's been like 8-9 years!!hey im talking to you Kevin post a video about deluxe please??
NOTE:
"The Stanley Parable appeared during the third season of House of Cards, where President Frank Underwood is being shown the game by a novelist and video game reviewer who is writing his biography, with the puzzling nature of the game used as a metaphor for the current politics in the show's fiction."

Yeaha this is one of my favorite games..i have no words for it :D
Could you please make a dlc with more endings and choices?
I came from the future, and yes - they will.
Damn a comment from 2019. Well... Hello there
I have great news for you about a game called The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe
If there is anyone on the fence about getting this game: JUST GET IT. Oh my god I've gotten so much enjoyment out of this game. There is a huge community around finding out everything about it too! Fantastic game. Really really good.
Raphael will love this!
For me it was day one purchase, not regretting it
***** the only way to notice the awesomeness of the game is by playing it
Who's watching in 2017? I may get the game. I have to ask
Tristen_Singer get it. It's amazing!
+LittleLightFromDark don't worry I got it yesterday. I LOVE IT! Guess what my favorite ending is.
Plus it was only $2.99 because of a sale.
Tristen_Singer Yeah, I got it on sale too, and it's genius! And let me guess, is it the broom closet ending? xD
LittleLightFromDark guess again. It's past the secret passage in the boss's office
There is this one really touching ending that I call the "Diving Board Ending". Basically, you get to the "Stanley was so bad at following directions, it's incredible he wasn't fired years ago" part, and then you need to jump onto the catwalk. When you get the red/blue choice, Take the red choice and wait for a door to open while walking around it in it circles. Go through it and you're in an immaculate room. Exit the room and you have a staircase. Jump off the top 4 times and you will die and the game resets.
By the way, about that, No, I don't hate your game. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! Why would I hate it?
This is one of the very few games that EVERYONE should play at least once.
No hyperbole. If you play video games in any way, shape, or form, you should play the Stanley Parable.
Does this game have subtitles and translations of subtitles?
the demo has subtitles
It has subtitles... I'm not sure about translations... I've never tryed

I will do anything just please give it
Just watch UA-camrs play it, this is one of the few games that you can get basically the same experience watching videos of as playing it yourself.
It's been 3 years.. there's been no new uploads. I think its time for me to let go.. and unsubscribe. Farewell, +stanleyparable
