So glad you made such a hash of this and posted it up, it certainly saved me the aggro of pulling the brass tube out. After watching where you went wrong I decided to run a 1.5mm drill through the plastic piece, then a 2mm drill. By now there wasn't much plastic left and I used a very thin screw to draw the remaining piece of nozzle out without the brass tube
Thanks for the tutorial, it's pretty enlightening on how this process is. If there's a way to just stick some tube on the outside and make some holes so the water spray is properly
Thanks for the videos on the XC70! About to buy one soon, also a 2004, 2.5T, just shy of 200k km. Believe it or not, at 43 yrs of age it will be my first car. For the last 20+ years I was using only company cars and never needed to fix anything tbh. This will be a steep learning curve :) Can't wait for any updates on your XC70! :) Good luck!
I am running a 2004 Volvo V70 and i use 39psi front and back which is really noticeable when you change it, power to the wheels is far more positive and the ride is better... so far tyres from new are still wearing less in the middle... i too was told by the tyre salesman that being a heavy car the outside wears more, so i tried the higher setting for the tyres... although if icy i would probably be tempted to drop to 33-35PSI for a little extra grip... it also gives better mileage to keep tyres good and hard... i can feel the power difference every time i re-inflate them...
thanks for the new part info, my rear squirter had come off but now i see there is more to the part than came off! you needed a much smaller screw that would fit the inside of the plastic part stuck in the tube still... which is my job now.... it has to be small enough to not expand the plastic part and then pull out the tube as you found out... great to be able to learn from that mistake... hope your journey went well... :)
I had the same problem in my 2004 V70. I bought the same part and had to use a drill bit to make room for the new part and it woks a little but still is messed up.
I just drilled out the plastic until it collapses in on its self, then pulled the remaining plastic out with pliers. Took 5 minutes, no need to take the motor off.
That is no way to test your shocks. I've also had a car damaged when selling before, by someone who thought it was a. Valid test on my light weight panelled car. I was left with significant damage to the panel. How it drives, what Mots check for and any leaks or breakages from visual inspections are the best checks. Do not test suspension like this if you are viewing a car to buy! Do what you want when it's your own.
I have felt it is a bit scary to put enough weight on the thin metal or even bumper of the car to try the bounce test. Anyway the grandma in the VW commercial also proves bounce test is useless (jk)
You can't really test dampers by bouncing the car. At least can't tell the difference. But i can feel the difference during driving highway speeds. If it feels scary to change the lane @ 100+ km/h, it's time to replace the dampers. Well, on such an old car it's time to do a whole suspension revamp. At least replace all the bushings - the rubber never gets better with time - and a dampers. Though springs might be saggy aswell. I did it on my v70 p3 and it was night and day, but cost me almost $2k.
These are great cars. We have two. Looking at buying another one right now!
Great to see an update on the XC70 🥰

Glad to have been of help
Lovely jubbly, Sion. Your tinkering very much reminds me of the way I tackle these issues 😂

Absolutely disgusting filth and innuendo. I love it!
I genuinely didn't intend most of it, it only became filthy when I watched it back!
@@MorselsAndMotors Hey, that's as good an excuse as any! Ha ha.
Great video - bon voyage!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the laughs!!! Glad you got the old girl road ready, enjoy your break!
Glad it made you chuckle!
Another informative video, hope you have a great trip.👍
Top notch camera work there 👌

Good luck! Hopefully your one will be a good one. Mine has been trouble-free and I’m very happy with it
Things went VERY 'HubNut' there with the rear washer jet repair - because Swedish...!
Maybe I should do T-shirts with 'Because Swedish...' on them!
It's crazy to think Europe is close to size of us but you will find many different languages in your travels
Rebound looks okay on those shocks/struts, but the bounce test does not do a good job testing the compression ability. Mom's XC handles quite well.
Great video and nothing wrong with a bit of innuendo 😂
Nice car, I do fancy getting one.

I think I’d have done the same if I’d have known exactly what was involved

What's the latest on your XC70?

My gasoline 2001 265879 miles on her. She drives like a bathtub full of bowling balls
A couple of glug glugs oil full
Sheesh.. that was painful to watch. The mix of incompetence and ineptitude made me wince.
