Thanks to reacting to this! It is such a quintessential 80's song and Tears for Fears is a great band. They had a ton of hits in the 80's. The two singers trade lead vocals in their songs. The singer who sang this is Curt Smith (he also plays bass). The guitar player (Roland Orzabal) is also the primary songwriter and sings lead on other hits of theirs like 'Shout' and 'Head Over Heels.' I suggest reacting to either of those two songs next. Tears for Fears continues to tour and they have a new album coming out in 2022.
So much good music in the 80s. I think it was a very creative time, where people were trying a lot of new things, like with new electronic technology, and also mashing up different genres... Thanks for this. You guys are classy. 👍
This song just has the feeling of freedom in it. Best listened to with the windows down and shades on cruising on a scenic road soaking in the moment. It's a whole vibe 😎
One of the coolest things about the Kpop scene in the past couple years (seriously!) is this huge 80s synth/citypop revival. Tracks like Key's "Bad Love", "YooA's "Diver" and so , so many more are so heavily styled after the stuff I grew up on it just hits me right in the nostalgia feels.
Drummer here … The rhythm feel you asked about is basically a “shuffle” - there’s a lot of variations of it, from classic (like you’d hear in an old Blues tune like “Goin’ to Kansas City”), to funk and fusion shuffles, like you hear in this tune, or in “Rosanna” by Toto, and many other irresistible toe-tappers. It’s basically a kind of “swing” beat, and it’s been making people bob their heads for a long, long time.
HEY GREAT REACTION❗️❗️. . . I’ve been watchin reaction vids for a couple years now and you 2 by far are my new favorites 💯👍 . . . I’m glad you guys recognize great music SO NATURALLY. I’m not a big concert person but I did go and see Tears for Fears live in concert. Hearing EVERYBODY WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD live truly brought tears to my eyes 💙. Anyway I’m very new to your channel but I can already tell you guys are good and thanks for doin what u do. I’m typing this as fireworks are going off outside cuz it’s midnight NEW YEAR right now 😁 HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎉🎊 (just brought in the New Year by watching y’all react to TEARS FOR FEARS - and I’m very happy with that)
👍 Great song. Haven't seen the video in years - the only two parts I remember: 6:02 The two guys dancing in tuxes in front of the old gas pumps. Such a strong visual. 6:48 This shot, for some reason. Tight framing of the singers.
I loves me some Tears For Fears, they were a big part of my high school years... Try: *Sowing The Seeds Of Love* But since the 80's were for me like the 60's for my parents, I suggest: *Sunshine Of Your Love* by Cream *Question* by The Moody Blues Those two came out when I was a kid. But they're freakin' great. I didn't find them until I was listening to this one in real time. Be well S.W.
Even though I'm in my 60's, I appreciate the times we live in because I can use modern technology like using my iPhone playlist to listen to my collection of music, including Tears for Fears (note-their new album Tipping Point is really good) while driving my truck. Sure beats trying to rewind a cassette tape while driving to get to my favourite song-ha ha. Thank you Justin and Staci. Happy Easter !
Your so right. Music should touch your emotions and soul. It should make you feel good, bring love and a smile to you. Music of today is hateful and nasty. It has desensitized our youth! Music of yesterday was awesome, beautiful, creative, gave messages of love and hope.. God bless you both..❤️
You want to know the funny thing about the gas prices on here? The video was filmed mostly in southern California. Gas is higher there, so it was probably under a dollar around the rest of the country. When I turned 20, (twelve years after this was released) gas was still under a dollar every where except California. I really enjoy watching you guys, thanks!
The video shows a gallon of gas being $1.45 back in 1985. Adjusted for inflation that is $3.79 in 2022 money. The video was filmed around Southern California and Las Vegas where the average price for a gallon of gas is between $4.10 to $4.80. So yes, the 80's were indeed better 😀.
Justin & Staci, great reaction to a great song, "Everybody wants to Rule the World. If you guys loved this song check out The The, Slow Emotion Replay, or The Smiths This Charming Man! And if you really want to blow your viewers minds, check out "Don't look back into the Sun" by The Libertines!
The name Tears for Fears refers to primal scream therapy. Primal scream therapy is a psychological exercise that encourages an individual to resort to primal instincts( like a caveman) and let out your frustrations in a naturalistic and therapeutic way by screaming uninhibitedly.
I really enjoyed your review. Tears For Fears are the best band to come out of the 80's, I say band, they are really a duo consisting of Curt Smith Bass and Vocals, and Roland Orzabal Guitar and Vocals. Tears For Fears are unique in that they have two lead singers, Curt takes lead on Everybody Wants To Rule The World. I'd love to hear you review more Tears For Fears, especially Advice For The Young At Heart with Curt again on lead, two more great songs but with Roland on lead are Sowing The Seeds Of Love, and the totally majestic Woman In Chains where Roland shares vocals with the extremely talented Oleta Adams.
I don't know if you take a requests but if you do, please react to "Vince McMahon life sucks promo". It's only around 4 minutes and it's really funny. You can find it easily on UA-cam. I found your channel when you reacted to CM Punk Savage moments. Very entertaining. Keep up the good work!

*Michael Jackson loved this song so much he used its baseline in 'The Way You Make Me Feel' two years later in 1987.*
I love seeing people enjoy music from my childhood 🥲makes me really sad but happy at the same time I love all y’all who feelin alone rn 💚
I remembered this song from my early childhood. Every time I hear it, I'm reminded of that period to time. It is bittersweet.
yes....the 80s......the best period.......where is that time machine?

80S MUSIC WILL LIVE FOREVER!!! MY HIGH SCHOOL DAYS, THE MEMORIES ARE THERE!!!🥰🥰🥰
Music from the 1980's was awesome, I grew up in the 80's and I have nothing but great memories of the music and movies from that time.
I can't wrap my head around the fact this song is 37 years old as I write this (I was 20 when this song hit the airwaves). A decade defining song!
I was 5 when I watched this music clip back in the days and it was forever in my memory, especially the band and the sand bikes.
Amo a esta canción y amé vuestra reacción! Gracias! Saludos desde Tandil, Argentina 👍😏
Was privileged to have grown up in the 80s. Probably my all time favourite song. Great reaction guys.🤩
All time favorite song... Ever...
This song will always be remembered especially for anyone who remembers the movie real genius

TEARS FOR FEARS, WOMAN IN CHAINS
One of their best🔥💯
This entire album is a masterpiece and worth the listen from start to finish. So many emotions, tempos and vibes!
This song is nearly 40 years old now, but still sounds as fresh as it did when it was released
5:21 amen music today doesn't have that you don't sound old because I agree and I am 23

this to me is the signature song of the 80s...brings back many, many pleasant memories.....where is that time machine?
That feeling is “LOVE”.
melancholy thought provoking with such a great memorable sound song then and now....
I like your soulful reaction , greetings from Mexico.

Another great track for reaction from these guys is Shout. Would like to see your reaction to this one. Peace and love...
Why not Mothers Talk or Broken? Doesn’t always have to be a single

Love you guys. Thanks for your reactions.
I loves me some Tears For Fears, they were a big part of my high school years...
Try: *Sowing The Seeds Of Love*
But since the 80's were for me like the 60's for my parents, I suggest:
*Sunshine Of Your Love* by Cream
*Question* by The Moody Blues
Those two came out when I was a kid. But they're freakin' great. I didn't find them until I was listening to this one in real time.
Be well

I love you guys; you are the cutest. FYI Love the shirt Justin!

Ask any person around 50 if they could re-live through any decade of their choice, 99% would say the 80's. What a time to be alive back then......😊
Nostagic vibes
I'm older than you; first video I ever saw on MTV. When MTV was music video TV.
