OMG War was one of those bands that every lowrider in my neighborhood would blast out of their cars and in the park. This is a great album and a great band. So many great songs from them. "Summer" might be my favorite, but "The World Is a Ghetto", "Slippin' Into Darkness", "All Day Music", "Why Can't We Be Friends" are other favorites. I was like 5 yrs old singing "Cisco Kid was a friend of mine!"
Not brother on the bus. How are you sawing? And how are you sawing and flaw? It's talk all over the place, it's a sense turned inside out there's a war benefit.
"Cisco Kid" is a great song by WAR. Lots of funk and gritty vocals. Things that WAR excelled at. My favorite song by WAR is "Low Rider", lots of the same components, but in a different way, and a little more of the funk. You will probably recognize it when you hear it. It was EVERYWHERE for a while. Remember, it's "LOW RIDER".
People may wonder why I still cling to the music of my youth, instead of embracing many of the new artists currently killin' it. Hey, THIS kind of music is what helped me survive disco.
Sorry I missed the live premiere Biz. War is a fantastic band that too many sleep on. This tune is a banger. Low Rider, Why Can't We Be Friends, The World is a Ghetto, Summer, Slippin into Darkness, All Day Music, Spill the Wine....all brilliant
Aw, you have taken me to my first apartment in 1973 where the most expensive thing in it was my stereo system and this record was on the turntable. The album is a banger!
Cisco and Pancho drank the whiskey and wine having a big time. That's what their music brings every time. Always funky, soulful, and unique. You can listen to War and not enjoy yourself.
@@nancywest1926 i did too ms west, i did too...until i didnt. ;)Eventually i figured out i could tape and put the vinyl back on the shelf to stay UN-played.
The Cisco Kid is a fictional character found in numerous film, radio, television and comic book series based on the fictional Western character created by O. Henry in his 1907 short story "The Caballero's Way", His sidekick was Pancho. Originally a murderous criminal in O. Henry's story, the Kid was depicted as a heroic Mexican caballero later in films, radio and television adaptations.
Me thinks Eric Burdon only sang on the WAR song 'Spill the Wine.' Thrilled to see you react to WAR though, they've mastered the funk! I suggest Summer- music video is fun, All Day Music, and Slippin' Into Darkness. Enjoy!
This song is a classic...a true gem! Try "The World Is a Ghetto", "Slippin' Into Darkness", "All Day Music", "Why Can't We Be Friends" and "Summer". War also did the music for Cheech And Chongs first movie "Up In Smoke" which I Highly recommend:)
If you want something relaxing, you’ve got to check out All Day Music / Summer / Don’t Let No One Get You Down. Personally I’ve not seen any reactions to these songs by any other peeps.
Love this reaction! The rhythm started… then the head nodding.. then the body movement. Then the smile breaks out. And the stank face emerges … yes!! This was epic. We had some great music back in the day! You know, we didn’t care who sang it, black white Latino. All we cared about was a great rhythm that made you tap your toes and move your body.
War is one of the best to me from back then ! No doubt ! ! ! Peanuts out the can !! If you don’t like this you don’t like music period ! Your right Biz it’s mixed perfect I like the percussion myself ! There was tv show Cisco kid ! I think !
There are a couple of albums with Eric Burden and War. After that, War continued on and played great music! Check out one of their later tunes: Peace Sign
Hi Biz, my wife met the band members of WAR 10 yrs ago at our local casino. We have become close friends with the band members. Since then we always get back stage passes. They are coming of Jazz Alley in Seattle next Weekend. They are giving us passes again. Great guys! Got lots of WAR memorabilia on the wall. Can’t wait till Saturday to see the guys again!
Dazed and Confused had a soundtrack just as good as the movie itself. Without it who knows when my 16yr old self would have been to exposed to it all. They damn sure don't play this stuff on the radio anymore.
Now you’re getting the idea of what the seventies were like. A great Era with arguably the most diversity in contemporary music. Good times.

Right On Dude!!!@@musicairplanes4884
If WAR didn't invent the crunchy groove, then they sure'nough perfected it.
People may wonder why I still cling to the music of my youth, instead of embracing many of the new artists currently killin' it. Hey, THIS kind of music is what helped me survive disco.
One of the best funk bands ever! Also diverse!
Nice! My older cousins used to play this one all the time back in the mid-seventies. That bass line is super phat.
All Day Music. Slipping into Darkness and The World is a Ghetto are my favorite War tunes.
This song and band were really amazing. Too much fun. Brings me back to my younger life.🎵🎸🎶🎼✌️

This is one of my all time favourite songs. More people need to hear it. They are missing out on an amazing piece of music. Very understated.

Lowrider, Cisco Kid, and Four cornered Room are my favorites
This was such a cool group in the 70s. They had a very unique sound.
One of brothers, Lanny was a decade older than me. This was always playing at home in the early 70s. Still just as good now, as then.
I agree. It never gets old.
Eric Burdon came along after the Animals. War was their own band, Eric Burdon did Spill The Wine with war as a start
Not bad for a song recorded 51 years ago! Love watching you react to the songs of my youth!
i wore this out on vinyl
Why I taped things. I destroyed albums 😂

I was in middle school, we all were lovin the groove that War put out.
You just know they had a blast recording this song.
I’ve heard this song my entire life & have never gotten tired of it
Love this song
It's impossible not to groove to this tune.
One of my favorite bands. I’ve seen them live several times since the 70’s. Always on fire!
i saw them in '74 at the universal amph. loved it. weed smoke EVERYWHERE
nothing makes me feel more like the cool hip cat that I am than bumping some WAR through the barrio from my classic '12 corolla 😎
Love, Love, the band War. Thank You for sharing 😊

Check out "The world Is a ghetto" . Another great tune by War.

For your own sake you need to do that album
war led me to the wailers. listen to slipping into darkness and the listen to get up stand up...
If you were going to do any serious cruising back in the day, you had to have some War in the car. Mandatory funk.
