- After a snowy overnight in a restaurant parking lot we head towards Cumberland Falls, Kentucky. We enjoy a hike around the falls then we head towards Alum Ford camp on the Cumberland River to overnight before heading into Tennessee to spend some time in the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area.
*My name is Brian. I started living full time in a self built camper van in 2014 in my hometown of San Diego, CA. I hit the road full-time in 2015 to pursue seasonal work and travel around the U.S. I find free camping on public land and enjoy photography, hiking, biking, and kayaking in nature. Join me on my adventures.
Thanks for watching!

Cumberland Falls is known as the Niagara of the South, and is one of the few places on earth where there's a moonbow. In the light of a full moon the mist at the base of the falls displays a rainbow. My family visited when I was a kid, and I was blown away even as a 7 year old.
It's amazing,in a world upside down you travel, adventure & eat like a king in the most beautiful spots in the most beautiful country.and document it on film.thanks for showing the way.
Beautiful thank you for sharing
If you are still in the area here is a route suggestion for getting into North Carolina. Head to Tellico Plains, TN and take Route 143 east. Look for Santeetlah road on your left. It's gravel for 30 miles or so and heads deep into the mountains with no towns and lots of free camping. Some really great sites on the NC side of the mountains.
What makes this so nice is with Covid we are pretty much staying home. Nice to see a road trip even from the living room.
It's enchanting when all the trees are frosted like that. ❄️❄️⛄❄️❄️
Absolutely charming thank you. Great music 👍
Tent camped as a child with my family in that area about 60 years ago. Brought back lovely memories. The light snow makes everything magical. Thank you
Have fun. Your in some beautiful country and I don't think it's possible to see it all.
You were just a few miles from the Arch on 297. It's very beautiful with easy access.
I live less than 30 minutes from there it’s sooo cool that you were there :)
@Lisa Augustitus it truly is a beautiful place to live and visit. Would of been cool to meet them while they were here.
I used to live in hazard Kentucky
So you know where Barval is lol
@@deborahchesser7375 yes I know Barbourville lol
I plan to visit Kentucky this coming year. Camping of course.
Great vid , pretty country. But I'm glad Im in florida for the winter. The great thing about Brian is he never mooches off you
What a beautiful drive with the snow covered trees.
Enjoyed seeing the falls and the snow on the trees. That was awesome of Kelly to make a snow angle. Thanks! and do stay worm.
You are absolutely right I have no idea How anybody could stare at cactus rocks in dirt all day Great videos love the content glad you have an open mind Living life Peace brother two make a great couple
Hmm... red rock, blue skies, low humidity, no ticks, no fleas, not many mosquitoes, low population density... I might have an idea.
I never understood the desert thing either. The dust everywhere would be too much.
There's nothing like the two lane road. So much to see and enjoy. You really get to see the country on them. Safe travels!
Beautiful video. Thank you.
Good morning Brian and Kelly, and all our nomad friends !!
I hope y'all are finding camping places with all the confusion in our world lately.
The snow is beautiful, too bad it's so cold when we get to see it !
It's dipped into the 30's a few times here in north Florida, Brrrr !
Cumberland Falls sure was a spectacularly beautiful place.
Kentucky seems to be nothing but beauty.
it has its quirks like any place but it sure is nice to ride around and take it all in. Been here 6.5+ years and really do love the region.
AVM I find your videos, your lifestyle, your PT jobs, and you as a individual extremely entertaining to fallow and watch.
Thank you. It’s a pleasure to share. ✌🏼
Many folks say that the area you are in is one of the most beautiful places in the coutnry.
Was there in late July early August. What a beautiful area in summer but winter looks magical. Thanks I really enjoy following your travels. Be safe. ✌
I am sure all those snow covered trees reminded you of those wonderful Christmas tree flocking days in CA!
That’s what traveling is all about, seeing all the beautiful places and with a little dusting of snow. Great video ✌🏽
Good morning a good way to start my day with coffee and your beautiful vlog. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Kelly 😊❣️ love your snow angel.
Falls are stunning!!
So beautiful with snow.
The topography of Mother Earth is truly beautiful. ❄️
I still believe you should sell some of your photos they are again very beautiful and capture the beauty of nature. Just saying.
Good to see ya enjoying nature thanks for sharing brother 🌲🚐♥️👣✌️👍
Thank you for the beautiful drive!
Definitely worth $5 to spend the night in such a beautiful camp instead of a free parking lot. Peace
So beautiful! Love the footage and Kelly with her snow angel. 💖 What really got me was the dirty laundry and booty stink. I laughed so hard. Still wiping tears out of my eyes. I might be a grown woman but I have the sense of humor of a thirteen year old boy. 😹
Beautiful scenery. Truly a winter wonderland.
11/24/2021 Just had your channel recommended to me. I’m originally from Manchester Kentucky when I was a young kid we use to go see Cumberland Falls and go fishing at least twice a month.
Thank You for the memories
God Bless you and your adventure’s
Beautiful sights...
Traffic at a standstill and you still turn it into a positive. Man I wish my wife was like you!
Your videos are lovely and as a transplanted Louisvillian, you are showing me parts of Kentucky that I knew nothing about. Glad you are a fan.

Gotta tellya mr brians .. them shots at the falls with them cliffs n lil trees with snow on em ..were breath taking ..thankyou..😍😎😁
If you're heading over in that direction, Bryson City, NC, is a nice little place to visit. I just passed through there on my way to Georgia.
Been to Bryson city a lot. If you haven’t already check out springer mountain area in northeast Georgia. Beautiful area. That’s my old home. Blueridge and Smokey Mountains are something to see! Boy I miss them!
I live in Kentucky. As far west as possible. It’s amazing to see some of Kentucky I haven’t seen. Very beautiful. Thank you!!!
yea its a different state here compared to your part of Ky.
I think my life needs a mellow, guitar heavy soundtrack...
So glad you seen Cumberland Falls. When you get in to Tn look upJackson Island on free campsites. Net safe travels 🤗
I lived in Corbin for 12 years AVM, exit 25 was my exit too. Beautiful area with a lot to do.. I 75 from Corbin to the Tenn state line is nicked named Death Valley, to many fatal accidents. I am glad you adventured the area. Go back in the fall...its great !
Wonderful video of one of our favorite places in KY: the scene of our 1st date in KY and many adventures since. It was really different back in the 1960s when the rubble by the falls wasn’t there. Also, you could walk down and get behind the falls! I’m glad you did the trail. I hope you can come back when it’s warmer. The place is full of families. Not long ago we had record high water and that was fabulous! God speed on your travels! Al and Margaret
I love seeing all the beautiful places in America thank you for showing us a different States and the beauty that they have in them👍
Hey Kentucky 🤩 I love ♥️ waterfalls! Thanks for sharing ✌🏿
Thanks Brian for bring us along on your adventure
You were at the home of KFC in Corbin , where it originally started. Hope you enjoyed my home state and y'all come back . Enjoy the scenery and safe travels.
Was wondering last video if they were going to go by there!
It was indeed a beautiful drive. Saw some of your older videos too and noticed that you have only got better. Thank s for the trouble you take to entertain us .Stay safe and happy.
The falls are Beautiful 🤩 and Kelly 🤣🤣👏🏼👏🏼💜💜💜 👼 She is so fun!! Happy you found each other!! “Dirty Butt” 🤣🤣🤣 You guys are killing me this morning!! Thank You for sharing another adventure! Magical Winter Wonderland Drive! 😁🙏🏼💜
Peace to you too, Brian, and thank you for this beautiful record of a beautiful journey.
Great video! Love the falls and the snow covered trees but Kelly's snow angel...december is here and she's got such a free spirit. Merry Christmas and bless you both.
Wow that was so beautiful! (Awesome snow angel).
Good bye Kentucky, Hello Tennessee!!!
Very beautiful landscape with the snow. Kelly's snow angel turned out perfectly. I enjoy her laugh, it's contagious. 😀 Ya'll take care, Peace. ✌
I apologize for the trail being locked off at Cumberland falls - they do that for the season, they don't want people getting hurt. Trail goes back a good 10 miles along the river, other waterfalls and an abandoned train bridge way in the back. There was another campsite just on the other side of the river but I don't think it's marked all that great. That pipe is water from the above road coming down. I spent many of my summers wandering around that area. Thank you for taking us durring the winter. Peace and light - happy vannin :)
I've enjoyed all your videos! Didn't know it snowed that much in Kentucky. Owner of a 1994 G20 Tiara Tin Top
It looked great casted onto the big screen 👍
When you get further south you should find an undercarriage car wash because of the road salt 🧂
The falls were gorgeous and the landscaping with the snow made it even more picturesque. So glad you and Kelly decided to stick to the Southeast, to me this is so much more interesting then the desert.
Hey Brian.. beautiful country in Kentucky. Those falls were very cool and loved Kelly's snow angel 👍😁
Thanks Paul, hope you are doing well! ✌🏼
@@AdventureVanMan Hangn here in Arizona. Nice change after last year's winter up in Wash 😁 Doing well and wish the same for Kelly and you !
So beautiful. Thank you for taking us with you.
Again Brrr! 🤣 Beautiful tho. Snow Angel! 👼👍! Thanks for sharing your fun & travels ☮❤🕉
My favorite channel to enjoy with breakfast. That has to be the clearest river I've seen in the east, usually they run muddy brown. So beautiful with a dusting of snow. Still dry here in the desert.❄✌
cumberland falls area sure is beautiful! nice snow angel, kelly! gawd knows what oddball dumping-into-rivers youtubers are finding!! thanks for the tour. truly beautiful country.
Awesome area, great scenery with the fresh snow
I was just in KY with my van a few days ago. Although a little further west, Land Between the Lakes area. No snow where I was.
But...welcome to TN!
I think we all crave a change in scenery now and again. I have spent very little time out West, so I find that desert landscape as captivating as you are finding the East Coast. Thanks for sharing.
What a beautiful drive! So peaceful this time if year! Thanks for bring us along!
👋 HOLA
GRACIAS MIJITO 💞

Thanks for an interesting and beautiful break in my day. Great spots
Cumberland Falls is the only place in the Northern Hemisphere where you can see a Moonbow😊 This is Gary from your 2018 Caravan group. I lived in KY for 23 years before I hit the road full time.
Another great video, Thank you sir!
I have family that lives over there in the Tri-County area. Beautiful. Cumberland Falls is so much fun during the summer.
Beautiful scenery of the hills/snow. Enjoy, stay warm and stay safe.
Thanks for the memories. My dad and I canoed for 3 days on Lake Cumberland 50 years for my girl scout badge😊 but I never saw it in winter.
Take care and keep yourself warm.👍
I can picture when this was the frontier. Wonderful coverage of the place.
You are living the life man, thanks for sharing!!!!!
Buenos días Bryan y familia
Buenos dias ✌🏼
Kentucky Beautiful thank you for sharing .
Gorgeous! Thanks, Brian.
Glad you enjoyed your stay in Kentucky. Be it ever so humble...
Great video! You always find the prettiest places and you make it feel like we are there with you. And the angel making snow angels was the icing on the cake. So happy for you two! Wish you all the joy and happiness!
Very nice places
The views are stunning. Thank you for sharing.
With all the noise in the world, your videos are breath of fresh air...especially through these current times. 👍
Louisiana deserves exploring. Nature unlike any other state.
Glad you two had a great hike and you had someone to share it with
Very scenic, thank you.
From someone who drove to work on snowy roads and am now waking up to those desert rocks, it's fun watching y'all enjoying the winter wonderland!
You two are brave souls to trek thru snow on a cold day. Beautiful Snow Angel left behind as a reminder of the local beauty & Angels watching over you😁 Safe travels and thanks for sharing the sights and sounds!👍
Wow...that is more snow then we have had here in Fargo, ND..been an unusual December here so far. It is December 7th, and zero snow on the ground..continued Safe travels to you Brian...🎄🎄🎄
