When that nice lady talked about her friends coming to her and camping around her in a circle during her difficult time I was overwhelmed with unexpected emotion. I'm glad she was able to pull through.
I love what that one lady said...."it was hard, but it was temporary "....that applies to SO many situations in Life....EVERYTHING is temporary. Whenever you're experiencing something hard, remind yourself, "this too shall pass"...it may take a while, and it may hurt, but it WILL pass. I once heard an excellent saying: "suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem "....seek help...it IS out there (I've never been suicidal but my ex-husband ended his life by suicide). I personally never feel lonely when I'm in my tiny-home-on-wheels, on the road or boondocking....I feel alone when I'm in a room with family members (sad to say that). I too am an introvert so when I want human connection, I find it, and when I want to just chill out in my tiny-home-on-wheels, I do (along with my dog and cat; so I'm never truly alone). Thanks for Sharing this vlog.
This blew me away. I was a full time nomad for only a few years and went back to sticks and bricks. Now, I’m missing it greatly for so many of the points made in this video. I’m convinced I need to go back to it, at least part time. Thank you so much for sharing this. I met more people that I connected with than I do now. I really believe my personality was meant to be a nomad. ✌🏼
no human was made to be without company we got 9 billion on this planet I live on my own I lost all my family and my husband I am spiritual I love my path I am 67 I have my pets I love to bits my pug Blossom meet lots of dog walkers and I got my cats lilly and violet and have a few nice people around like minds I do miss telling my mum my husband what day I have had i have lots to do i send love and hugs to you all. Great video
I. have so much respect for you Bob. As a parent who has lost an adult son to suicide as i think you have. Grief does make some of us self isolate. My prayers go out to all of you nomads
13:03 These people all came and camped in a circle around me until I got better! Definitely I community that I would like to be more part of one day! 🙏🏾🙌🏾💯
Oppression can drive the wise one into madness. I live in a house, in a small town with neighbors and still feel lonely. When I travel to a distant forest and spend the day, I am never lonely. You see, the animals that live there always give me company, more than I ever expected, and I am always at peace. It is satisfying to hear everyone else's travels in this life. Great job Autumn!!
What a professional video format. Bob hired somebody. Im looking foward to the series but also hope the original format of interviews and tours continue.
Humans aren't meant to live in a society where we work all day just to pay the bills and follow the rat race into a gutter. Being more connected with nature (because we are nature) is where we belong. I miss being a nomad. I'm happily married now but my wife could never live this way which is ok. It's not for everyone. But I will say, I had the most friends and wonderful experiences while I was nomadic. It greatly improved my mental health in ways medication couldn't.
Glad you started this series addressing loneliness! For me as a woman in the city in an apartment, I do get a chance to meet people volunteering...but the problem I consistently face is that when I want to get together and make a new friend, they say "I can't I have kids". The people are just not interested in making new friends or don't have time. I'm hoping to find that deep friendship connection when I go on the road.
I met a couple in 2009 who hosted board game meet ups in their home. They had a 2 year old and 5 year old. They are still friends and their kids are like family to me. There is hope.
I have watched a ton of van-life videos and I think this is the most important one yet. I can relate to every person interviewed and the dogs are beautiful too.
I'm struggling too. It's 6 months today full time. I've done other years part-time. I could write a book about these past 6 months and the very challenging experiences I've had. I'm not giving up though, partly because I can't and partly because I don't want to.
with a cell signal in most areas we are comforted by the interaction on the internet. this also, I once read : those who make no acquaintance will be left alone. In other words, be the first to say hello and strike up a conversation when you are close to somebody else.
There are more dogs than children in the US right now. I think that speaks to how folks cure loneliness. I'm married, never had kids but always have dogs. Can't imagine life without our dogs. I try to be the kind of person my dogs think I am and that means being kind to others. If you are kind, people will be drawn to you. The lady whose friends "circled the wagons" when she felt distressed and fearful must be a kind person. ❤
Thank you, one and all, for publicly discussing this issue. I'm sure it means a great deal to so many of us facing the same situation, and knowing we are not alone.
I’m an introvert, strongly independent and do not get lonely. Been on the road 8 years and prefer a site away from others. I do have a small dog and enjoy walking with her. If you are like me, don’t hesitate, you will love it.
It's been studied that forced isolation is directly related to all the negative things that can occur when alone( kidnap, shipwrecked, wildernessed, solitary confinement etc.) Yet voluntarily it's been noted a peculiar crowd of folks find bliss with no problematic concerns of loneliness or mental instability.A sailor once solitarily competed in a race across the world and disappeared. When they caught up to him months later he said he just forgot about the race when he reached the Mediterranean...it was so beautiful there ,he made it is home.
12:30 speaks to me so much. Her saying they camped around her touched my heart. I am pushed into my van sooner than I thought. But maybe it is the universe nudging me.❤. I will be joining you all in a few months. The landlord is allowing me to stay until after winter...it is giving me time to organize and think .😅
What a great video. Lonliness can be dark but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck to each and everyone of you. Get a dog a friend for life. Bob wells you are a legend and you should be applauded. Jonathan 🇬🇧
I can't say enough about this day and the fact I watched this after spending days visiting my son on his birthday. Got back a few hours ago lost and not sure what happened to me. The 6 hours of driving was nothing compared to coming home and being alone! Thank all of you for sharing this and God bless you all. Amen
I don't consider myself a loner, but I'm perfectly happy being alone for extended periods. As a young man I backpacked by myself all over the world. 35 countries and principalities on 6 of the 7 continents. Sometimes I would hook up with other travelers, but if I didn't, I was perfectly happy by myself exploring new surroundings, then back at my camp with my journal or a good book in the daytime or a campfire at night. I could have been very happy living a life like Dick Proenneke.
Living in Europe it is not likely I will ever visit America. But I feel connected somehow. My husband and I travel with our camper as much as we can and although the situation here is different, I have learned a lot watching the video's posted on the channel. Loved this video!
Bob, I really appreciate you and all you’ve done for humankind. This video has me in tears. I relate so strongly to the message. I’ve spent the past 28+ years feeling alone. I would try to connect by getting involved in various groups but, even after participating for a few years, I never felt connected. These days, I want nothing more than to become a nomad. My husband was starting to warm up to the idea but then his health started to fall apart. Right now, he’s battling cancer. I’m scared of losing him and I feel more lonely than ever.
I lived outside- alone- I was without a house for 7 years. I was alone all the time but never found myself lonely. Now I have a home and lots of community connections. But I miss my time alone in the world out in the world traveling, often by foot. But I saw the world because I was moving slower. Even tho it was often scary and very dangerous where I found myself surviving as a homeless person I found me and I’m very comfortable with who I am today.
As good as it gets. Lots of people think running off to the desert, the forest to be alone is the answer. I, personally have found, like Brian said, if you want to be alone, the big city is the place to be. There, for the most part nobody gives a damn about you or your life. Conversely, in the desert or forest when people see you they want to chat. If you want community, living as a nomad, counter- intuitive as it is, is the way to go. Great video!
Thanks for sharing this 🙏 I’m about six months in to van life and do feel it from time to time, but the point about being lonely in the old life is 100% accurate for me. I usually only feel the loneliness when I visit a national park or something, and have no one to experience it with.
I'm about to make my 4th attempt to become a nomad and this time I feel better prepared for it. I just recently dealt with my ADHD and life long depression. I can say now how good I feel about myself. I think once you focus on your problems and are willing to change things just fall into place. I owe a lot to Bob after discovering him. He really opened up the possibilities that I have and gave me hope. We all need hope so keep on keeping on. Much love to you all.
Truly the freedom and friendships make this life worth it! I am less lonely on the road than I have ever been. There’s a lot of wonderful people in this world and in this lifestyle. 💜🙏
I’m turning 68 shortly and loneliness to me is like and old friend in some respects sometimes I fight with it but I know in my heart it’s telling me something. Appreciate this guy’s 😊😊safe travels everyone
REO Speedwagon, 1976 "Keep pushin'". almost 50 years ago. Listen to the lyrics, even if you don't like rock. This has been in my head since I wore a younger man's clothes. Nothing new, an age old dilemma for people. Me too, but I'm old and still hear it. Loneliness is a mindset. Turn, and keep pushin'. Thanks Bob
I've always lived in a built up community. I moved to Europe ten years ago and I have no friends. I used to have a lot of friends. I think I just withdrew. This program is not just for van life, but for everyone, everyone is suffering from lack of community and I wish we could all take the lessons shown here and build a better world all round.
I knew an Albanian man who came to America twenty years ago. He moved into an apartment in NYC and was shocked at the general attitude of people. He would greet his neighbors with a smile and hello, and barely get acknowledged. I try to remember that when passing by people.
This is an incredibly important topic....mental health. Normalizing it is deeply beneficial for all and makes it more comfortable to reach out. I hope you continue this broad topic.
Freedom was the word that was always the to come to mind. Then peace. I, too, am introverted, I loved the Freedom to choose when and how long to be around others. And the people were so easy to connect to, like-minded. I felt a joy I had never dreamed of before. I had no idea it existed. I was a well liked member of a like-minded group before van life, and I cherish those friends and memories, but I would go back on the road in a heartbeat. It has to be experienced, I can't explain it.
I enjoy many of the amenities a big city has to offer but I find most people are annoying. This week I am leaving Oregon and heading to Southern California for the winter. Being a snowbird is ideal for me because I don't like extreme temperatures and it gives me the freedom to travel where the best weather is. Living in my RV gives me the flexibility to visit the city or stay in a remote location and avoid those people!
A truly beautiful & inspiring hopeful video Autumn. I believe that feeling of not belonging here comes from KNOWING another reality, a past life, another place where we did belong. Once we find our tribe our village we feel at peace ... happy.
Just WoW - This video is amazing and comes at the right time. Years ago, on the verge of losing our house, you gave me hope in the future. Faith that no matter what, we could have a roof over our heads, in a suv, a van, a trailer or an ambulance or any kind of rv. When the time came, escorted by 4 police cars, after donating most of our belongings and furniture (not enough), we packed our car and headed to Arizona to help my best friend after losing her husband to cancer. We visited so many cool places and ended up in Florida. Finally found a place to settle. Because of health issues, nomad life was out of reach, but here we are healing in our mobile home. This video comes right after evacuating from hurricane Milton and a little shaken by the experience. We are thinking of buying a little van to travel during the summer and have a safe way to flee if needed again. Thank you! The young lady has a very pretty voice, can't wait for the next video.
Thank you Bob and everyone for sharing this important topic. Mental Health is still something that is not talked about enough. I love you all. I am planning my Van Life, more and more everyday it really feels like I will make the choice to do so.
What a wonderful episode 💕 I had to share this with my daughter, who seems lost sometimes. This is very inspiring ❤ what a wonderful life, if you know where to look...
Thankyou for this video, we so need these talks, do not ever stop, some day I hope to meet these people and be excepted as a member of your tribe, look forward to your next talk😎
Thank God for beautiful heart connections! And thank you all for sharing! Sending you all love, prayers for all goodness and greetings of peace! 💚🌷🤲🏻☝🏻💫💫💫💫
I'm so grateful for this community and that one of these nomads always takes my calls, she's a real friend. Nomadism and travel give you a beautiful array of connections, as deep as you truly need them.
Great job, Autumn. Did want to hear a bit more from each person featured. Hope your next video will be a bit longer. You captured the depth of loneliness expressed by each individual and I liked being able to learn their backgrounds prior to nomad life. I was part time and am completely off the road now due to health issues. The nomad life can be as full as one wants it. The fullness can come with time spent with others or time spent with one's self. Everyone has their own unique blend that keeps the soul at peace. Looking forward to the next episode. ❤
I’ve watched this channel for years but this video is amazing. I think it addresses an issue that everyone encounters but some more than others, some willing to talk about it than others. I’m an introvert but enjoy socializing to some extent. Like many, I just never connected with family and people easily but I enjoy being alone and in peace and quiet. I think that’s a result of how I coped with my inability to connect. This is a great series and I’m looking forward to watching the rest!
I am taking care of my elderly mother now, but I lived in my van before I started renting my stix n brick. I am in hopes someday to return to van life, find a van and now watching Bob Wells and all of you, I now have a good idea how to do it and make it so my dogs, or depends on how many years I have left with my mother, to get back on the road and try to meet up with you all.
Oh good, been looking for one or some of my favorites to chime in on this video. It's good one, seemingly sincere opinions backed by years on the road. Thanks to all.
Thank you CRVL! Most all of your videos are helpful, educational or entertaining. This video touched my soul. This may not only be a life altering series. It may save lives! Thank you for all of your good works! Cheers!
On the road your always moving and even my old friends before living nomadic don’t ever keep in touch. Then ones I meet traveling don’t either. I get depressed because I feel like a looser sometimes because I can’t connect. So now I rather be alone and focus on my own stuff. My nature is to help and that can go south, so nice when someone recognizes you could use some TLC.
I'm 55. Very few people make the effort to keep in touch. Of all my friends, two keep in touch weekly. A few others reach out monthly, and one or two, once or twice a year. I just don't think that most people feel like it's necessary. Don't shut yourself off. There are people out there who value friendships. I just don't think there are many.
I’m so comforted by this series. It can be a difficult subject to share. I commend all those who opted in with sharing their vulnerabilities as well as their triumphant wagon circle. In a world full of stigma, it’s refreshing to see R&R…real & raw! Thank you to all that offered perspectives and stories. Looking forward to the next portion of the series.
I love this channel so much. All your videos are amazing but this one. Omg this one made me cry all the way thru. Wow. No video has ever hit me like this. I love you guys 💓🙏🇦🇺🙏💓
This is one of the most extraordinary 15 minute offerings from CRVL - solar panels, water filters, tents - there's lots that are the "nuts and bolts" of nomad living. But these interviews and stories - this is the soul of nomad living.
Spot on ❤
Yes, 💯 agree. ❤
Well said.
When that nice lady talked about her friends coming to her and camping around her in a circle during her difficult time I was overwhelmed with unexpected emotion. I'm glad she was able to pull through.
That made me weep a little, for joy 💜
i am a widower ...

Best Wife Ever ! amen
The story of people camping around the woman going through a difficult time is so heartwarming❤
❤😊
So tender.
I hit the road six months following bypass surgery. I also have mental health issues. Hitting the road was the best thing I ever did for myself.
Excellent! Vanlife is so much more than solar panels and preferred urination devices. Love this community!
I am so glad you said this! It’s not all fun sitting around the campfire and singing. Very glad I have watched this!
I love what that one lady said...."it was hard, but it was temporary "....that applies to SO many situations in Life....EVERYTHING is temporary. @miniskioliewanda I understand. I've always felt alone & disconnected (not as if I'm even a part of) my "family." I've now chosen to stay away.

Go to a HOWA caravan in the Arizona desert (Quartzite). You will meet a group of nomads and find “your people”. It has made all the difference for me.
How can I meet with this group?
If I can spend an hour a week really engaging in meaningful dialogue with a genuine human, I’m good.
Bob Well's and his tribe is a force of nature for adventure, connection, healing, love and peace. ♥
Julie. I cannot stop crying. Thank you for sharing. I don’t feel as alone or "weird". Thank you. Just Thank you.💙

Love the intro: "Loneliness. It's not an absence of people, but an absence of connection." So true. We stop trying.
Maybe the absence of God ? 🙏
Yes, there is a loneliness for the different people in our lives, even when our life is otherwise satisfying.
This video is quite important for anyone considering nomad life or others alreafy living that way.
What a beautiful inspiring video! What beautiful souls! I wish they could all be my friends! They are truly free people! Blessings and peace!❤
"Flapping My Left Wing". I will look that book up. I saw it in the hands of the Man in the hammock. @2:54
That was me on the hammock. Highly recommend the book.
A truly beautiful & inspiring hopeful video Autumn. I believe that feeling of not belonging here comes from KNOWING another reality, a past life, another place where we did belong. Once we find our tribe our village we feel at peace ... happy.
Thanks so much! 🙂
Oh, well done. Wow. ⚘
I hope this video goes viral to show how things can improve when you take control, immensely valuable to anyone pondering a change.
Thank you Bob and everyone for sharing this important topic. Mental Health is still something that is not talked about enough.
I love you all. I am planning my Van Life, more and more everyday it really feels like I will make the choice to do so.
🎉Freedom!🎉
What a wonderful episode 💕 I had to share this with my daughter, who seems lost sometimes. This is very inspiring ❤ what a wonderful life, if you know where to look...
Thankyou for this video, we so need these talks, do not ever stop, some day I hope to meet these people and be excepted as a member of your tribe, look forward to your next talk😎
Wow. I'm saving this and will come back to it again. Thank you for sharing all of this wisdom! ❤

Thank God for beautiful heart connections! And thank you all for sharing! Sending you all love, prayers for all goodness and greetings of peace! 💚🌷🤲🏻☝🏻💫💫💫💫
Freedom sounds good right now to me. I wanna get me some of that.!
I like this video. People being honest about it. I like this lady who said she found herself and who she is and not afraid anymore. Inspired me..
I'm so grateful for this community and that one of these nomads always takes my calls, she's a real friend. Nomadism and travel give you a beautiful array of connections, as deep as you truly need them.
Beautiful people sharing beautiful days. Thank you. Blessings
Excellent video and topic - Keep on with the series, we need it more than ever!
It’s normal to feel lonely. It’s all about management, knowing how to manage it is quite helpful.
Happiness is an inside Game. Title of my new book to be released.
This is an excellent video where very well edited and very well put out so very happy to get it and look forward to the rest of the series
I live alone & happy😊😊😊
I am taking care of my elderly mother now, but I lived in my van before I started renting my stix n brick.
I am in hopes someday to return to van life, find a van and now watching Bob Wells and all of you, I now have a good idea how to do it and make it so my dogs, or depends on how many years I have left with my mother, to get back on the road and try to meet up with you all.
Yes 💙🦋💙
Oh good, been looking for one or some of my favorites to chime in on this video. It's good one, seemingly sincere opinions backed by years on the road. Thanks to all.
Thank you CRVL! Most all of your videos are helpful, educational or entertaining. This video touched my soul. This may not only be a life altering series. It may save lives! Thank you for all of your good works! Cheers!
Spending my first long term stay in Quartzite. Plan to be here until the end of ~March.
Look forward to making new friends.
THANK YOU!
