Still looking great on the bag. I have worked my way through the My Boxing coach program and still love doing it. I'm going to start over from the very beginning. Thanks for the great content.
Thank you so much William, appreciate your support and engagement. Repetition is the mother of mastery. My boxers get the same skills reinforced year after year to ensure that they execute the basics at a high level. Thank you again
Brilliant. Thanks Paul, really needed that bit of feedback! Wanted to try a different approach, see if it helped the learning. Going to take a similar approach in some upcoming vids.
great video Fran! I was wondering, do you have specific videos about drills to work on your range before implementing combos that utilize transitioning between those ranges? thanks! Have a good day!
This 52 year won't beat world class boxers in ring now. But I'd pick him to be victorious against anyone who tries rob him, or start trouble in bar or street situation.
Coach Sands, I always enjoy watching your videos. There have been quite a few big fights and controversies recently. Beterviev v Bivol. Fury v Usyk. Wilder v Zhang. Garcia v Haney. If you haven't already, is there chance you might be able to comment on these fights (among others). It would be nice to see who you think won, why, and what adjustments they could make as a fighter moving forward. Some fights like Wilder v Zhang had obvious outcomes. But less obvious for non-pros like myself are why Wilder is so hesitant to throw nowadays. Is this brain damage? Is this PTSD? etc. It's the psychological aspect that I think someone like yourself could explain very well. Even if you don't get to these fights in future videos, I'm still grateful for the content you produce. Thank you.
Thank you, I appreciate it. I've copied your comment and added it to my content list to see what I can do. Definitely food for thought and I appreciate you raising it 👍
@@myboxingcoachDid you watch Fran? Bivol-Beterbiev was high quality fighting, and really a close fight. Could have gone either way or been a draw to be fair. If my arm was forced to pick, I think Bivol did a better job boxing, and would have edged him in my opinion.
Definitely not. Haven't sparred in almost 25 years. Had my share of headshots, don't need any more. Plus, more likely to get muscle pulls/tears and joint issues if I sparred - much happier staying injury free (touch wood)
Why is it if you throw a backhand and the motion is almost the same as slipping Inside. But If you throw a jab and your hips Rotate your head stays almost on the same spot and when you slip outside your head gets out of the way, is it maybe because you transfer more weight to the back foot than you would usually do with a Jab?
Yes. Much less rotation (and obviously power) with the jab. We can combine the outside slip with the jab, that's a neat skill that has the same effect as throwing the backhand.
