What a coincidence... I never played Fallout 4 despite having it in my Steam library for years, and the other day I was just thinking "I should play this soon, maybe I'll make some kind of gunslinger character"
@@RynJck I got it when there was a sale of the whole Fallout franchise and I got a bundle with all the games. I mostly wanted it for Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but I knew I'd eventually want to play 4 as well.
Its a fun game just dont let the community get you down for liking it if you do.. id also recomend getting a cheat terminal mod solely for adhesive IF you begin to hate the hunt for adhesive or trying to farm it
The Gunslinger has always been my favorite build and thank you FudgeMuppet for giving a reason to brush the dust off and send him back to Boston better than ever before. Also I would love to see a remastered version of the Pyromaniac with the new heavy incinerator and maybe wear the hellfire power armor.

It's so nice to see you guys bring back these Fallout 4 Builds, can I make a suggestion? could you guys try to make some sort of SWAT Build, based on some perks like "Commando", "Locksmith" and "Mister Sandman"? Or a new version of the old "Gunzerker" Build? Those would be awesome!!!
I did my own gunslinger build once. I will never forget this one moment during that run when I walked into a situation which I'm pretty sure was from a mod I got that added more wasteland encounters. This radio station I picked up had a girl on it begging for someone to come and save her and her family from some raiders. I walked to the signals origin, met some guy claiming that he also heard the signal and was coming to save the girl too. Then he lead me into an ambush with a bunch of named raiders in a throne room who started monologuing. Halfway through the leader going "Tell this idiot what he just earned." I drew a revolver and domed all of them in vats before they could even react. Truly one of my best Fallout 4 moments.
Hell yeah. Your builds 8 years were always fun to play with, I have a particular fondness for the Overboss, but I love all of em and your backstories are always spot on.
This was my favorite build in fallout 4 and sometimes id just spam watch all the lore stories you guys would put together while playing through the gunslinger. Love your guys stuff❤️
Interesting build, I usually play sniper coupled with the perk that knocks enemies down when using a scoped weapon, but I'm definitely gonna try this build. :)
Called My Character Erron, after the Mortal Kombat Erron Black. Personality shifted to make him be more of a Merc, selling his gun mostly for the common good, but only because the good guys usually pay. Feedback on the video: I like most parts (chapters) but I do feel like there should be a screen at the beginning showing all perks so people can screenshot. Use Stalker, Knight and Disciple as examples. You can break it up into the sections afterwards if you want, but I did enjoy that part of the videos.
For new players, Please note that this build has NO gun nut crafting. You will have to buy pistols with the high-end upgrades you want and either use those or use the workbench to remove the mods then apply them to the gun you want. The pipe revolver makes a good target for that. While you are low in level, you can't buy 44.mag but you CAN buy .45, which is what the pipe revolver uses. (With the right receiver, it can also shoot .308 or .38)
Awesome to see this guy back, still one my all time favorite builds. So good, in fact, that I’m building the gunslinger for my next-gen patch run. And, I got an INSTIGATING WESTERN REVOLVER basically as soon as I hit level 31 from a ghoul in the National Guard Training Yard, felt like it was meant to be. I couldn’t ask for a better endgame weapon and I’ve got it already. 🥰 Gonna have to make a trip to Nuka World soon to try and find a new receiver for it. Or download a mod that puts more DLC weapons in regular vendor lists I guess.
Definitely want to try this. Never really done a VATS build before, I usually lean towards Power Armor and the Aeternum, for the ultimate heavy weapons fantasy: just hold down the trigger until everything in front of you is full of holes
Good to see new videos! I came back to Fallout because of the show, and I've been on a binge of videos from the days of the game's release. But new content is great to see. Very timely and inspirational. I may have to give it a try!
I don't think I've clicked a video so quick, the original Gunslinger build was the one I first beat the game with and I loved it. Might have to dust the game off and give this another go :D In fact, your builds are part of the reason why I have so many hours in the game, I keep starting over because your builds look awesome and fun to play and I want to try them. I'd like to see if there are any changes to the Swatter and Paladin builds too :D

I like the step by step nature of this content. Getting 'Top Ten Perk' videos is helpful but this uses sound logic to achieve specific objectives. I've been funneled into a settlement building build that has me making 'To Do' lists. Sometimes I just want to kill stuff.
For those who like to use mods. I love using a mix of bullet time and deadspace overhaul to make your character less reliant on vats but with the effect of crazy speed and accuracy. Not everyone's cuppa but can be alot of fun. So glad fudgemuppet are back. Missed ur vids, keep em coming.
Ahhh ...Love you guys! Will try this build right now....still have the old gunslinger build which is insane, but a bit squishy. Since you go throu the old builds revamping, Im dying to see how you take the approach in your original brawler build.🎉 Edit: this build is lethal from lvl 12...swapped the locksmith Skill with tougness...the good, the Bad and the ugly!😅

By far my favorite way to play. My “gunslinger” has max luck and agility. I grabbed science, sneak, ninja, and Mr sandman in lieu of perception perks. Late game, I played around with power armor and plasma pistols. Super fun using heavy Vat user.
Can we maybe get a Dunmer build for skyrim that reveres the 4 testing gods, and relishes in the tests they provide. The new merhrunes dagon armor would be perfect for this build alongside volungrung and vampirism. Personally I like the aestetic of mixing the merhrunes dagon armor with the red tribunal hood from either immersive armors or the tribunal robes mod itself.
Did you know that you don't actually have to hit the first three targets to get the auto-crit with Gun Fu? You can also target anything (mines, turrets, friendly npc's), and then with your fourth shot, you start working on the enemies. Very useful in some situations! Also... I would like to suggest a build based on the Enraging effect. As I can't do it myself, I thought I'd try to get my favourite Fallout 4-builders to bite. I use it all the time, so I know how powerful it is. Farm a 10mm under Concord early on, and upgrade it for max number of single-shots. Do NOT put points in Gunslinger, as this will make the gun too strong, and negate it's purpose. For obvious reasons, this works best on a sneaky char. Thanks for all your builds over the years! I've tried several, and enjoyed them thorougly.
Ultimately, the cunning legendary effect is better for vats providing +1 agility and perception. Now only are a number of pieces easily acquirable through merchants and early game legendary drops, but it provides the same amount of vats shots with the added benefit of better vats accuracy and more sprinting. Make sure to prioritize the right leg and left arm for legendary drops.
I still, to this day have my gunslinger character I made after seeing the original video, almost a full month of playtime on that character alone, only a lot of settlement building and radiant quests now, I gotta give this new build a go, I miss that journey
So, my typical vats build reduces agility to 7, reduces luck to 8, and puts those points into perception brining it to 9. At 7 agility, you'll have plenty of action points and 8 luck gives you access to the grim reapers sprint perk. Now using the your special book you can get 10 perception boosting it to 11 with the perception bobblehead. This massively boosts your vats accuracy making the early game far easier to complete.
This reminds me of a Fallout 3 fanfic I almost wrote years and years ago, about "The Fastest Gun in the West...who's not in the west...and never been to the west." He was the kind of idiot who was superhumanly resourceful where he would refuse to stop negotiating the price for a job even though a Supermutant Behemoth showed up, and when his own companions scream for him about the behemoth, he would sigh, grab a grenade container, toss it at a mine, casually shoot the mine at the right time to where the explosion would fling the container at the behemoth's head, then shoot the container to detonate the grenades at the right time to blow the behemoth's head to smithereens, then jump right back into negotiations now that that annoying distraction was gone. Maybe I should write a FO4 fanfic of this, now that I'm much, much better at writing stories and plots than I was 15 years ago...is that how old FO3 is?! FML, I'm old!
I couldn't believe the player numbers for Fallout 4 on Steam. Wow, that game is so popular. Skyrim isn't even close. Currently Skyrim is around 27k, while Fallout 4 is around 103k. Definitely a good time for Fallout 4 videos. 👍
why not. of course it's suddenly shooting up in popularity again. between the series and kinda despite the update, it's very 'in' right now. not to mention, i think there's like 3+ versions of skyrim.
@@KeithElliott-zd8cx For Steam and GOG, I think mods are a big factor, too. The modding scene for Fallout 4 is only 2nd to Skyrim, and people like shooters, so to me it makes sense that even people that didn't like the story still like installing some mods and seeing what happens. I'm personally looking forward to Fallout: London as it seems to be ready to go, but they need to test it with the latest game update.
@@lance134679 ph definitely - it's probably the reason skyrim's still played as much as it is. it's on a bit of a downslope lately as i think a lot of people started playing fo4 again over skyrim, but, that's pretty damn respectable numbers for a game that's nearly 15 years old. my point was more, fallout 4 wasn't played this much - it was played some, and sure, mods incentivize more people to play, but it's sudden repopularity is 100% due to the show doing so well, and people paying a lot more attention to the series, all of a sudden. iirc it was closer to 5-10k players, this time last year, or so - defintiely not forgotten, by any means, but not a super 'active' title, either.
I'd like to see the sharpshooter remastered next. I feel like it's one of the more accessible builds early game due to how underpowered you tend to be.
I said it on your Frank Horrigan build but please remaster the Tinkerer build. I'd love to see what changes you make and how the dlc changes the build.
For real min-maxers, your Luck stat should be 9 and then raised to 10 with Battered Fedora or other piece of gear that raises luck by +1 to a total of 10. Why? Well, because there is absolutely no difference between luck 10 and luck 11. You'll still need 5 shots to fill up one critical bar whether you have it at 10 or 11. So, your starting Luck stat should be 8 + bobblehead + luck1 gear. You could also lower agility to 7 as in early game you don't really need that many AP especially if you're going to use .44 pistols (good trader with plenty of ammo for it outside Diamond City, on any level). This will give you the possibility to raise Perception to 9, save Preston, get the bobblehead for PER 10, save the special book for something else and have access to concentrated fire and penetrator from very early levels. Also, locksmith is useless early game. It never really returns enough for perk point investment. The only time i get this perk is if I want a cryolator (without exploits) but that is not the case here. Four Leaf Clover is another useless perk suggested here. At rank 1, it has like 7% chance to proc, then on following ranks it increases by 1 or 2% for a grand total of measly 10-12% if that many. Focus on Grim Reapers Sprint, which is much more useful, and at the final rank it makes Four Leaf Clover absolutely obsolete. Penetrator 2 is also useless, as long as you have concentrated fire. Gun Fu is god tier perk, and following everything above, you might not have it early on, but early on you'll mostly be hitting targets one by one anyway. In any case, this is okay build, with plenty of perks wasted. Instead, find SuperTwonky here on UA-cam and take a look at his VATS only run, which is essentially the same thing tried here, but much, much better.
Always appreciate your backstory and the level build that plays out to that story. Still have fun with my Power Armored, Science, long range robot allied, Spray and Pray big explosions Juggernaut. No VATS, and coat power armor in explosion resist so you can even use gun up close and not die instantly. Institute would seem feasible, but you see synthetic as past the reason of robots, opting for Brotherhood for the Armor and ultimate robot finally. Seeing robots as companions for use, not that they should try to copy a humans existence. Why you find Ava, Mr Handy, combat bots usable, but forgoing brain bot builds. Offering to ally the settlements for Preston, but only in your ideals, but not allowing the Brotherhood to to enslave settlements. Knowing humans need freedom and to advance human advancing technology, to bring rule and order back to the Commonwealth.
I’m replaying this build after watching Yusuf Dikec hip shot his way to an Olympic silver medal with his gunslinger perk. Btw, the pipboy stance look just like him 😂

Taking demo expert instead of locksmith at the start is really fun. Being able to shoot a grenade out of the air killing a group of raiders.

How can i adapt this build for riflemen/shotgun builds?
I couldn't believe the player numbers for Fallout 4 on Steam. Wow, that game is so popular. Skyrim isn't even close. Currently Skyrim is around 27k, while Fallout 4 is around 103k. Definitely a good time for Fallout 4 videos. 👍
why not. of course it's suddenly shooting up in popularity again. between the series and kinda despite the update, it's very 'in' right now.
not to mention, i think there's like 3+ versions of skyrim.
@@KeithElliott-zd8cx For Steam and GOG, I think mods are a big factor, too. The modding scene for Fallout 4 is only 2nd to Skyrim, and people like shooters, so to me it makes sense that even people that didn't like the story still like installing some mods and seeing what happens. I'm personally looking forward to Fallout: London as it seems to be ready to go, but they need to test it with the latest game update.
@@lance134679 ph definitely - it's probably the reason skyrim's still played as much as it is. it's on a bit of a downslope lately as i think a lot of people started playing fo4 again over skyrim, but, that's pretty damn respectable numbers for a game that's nearly 15 years old.
my point was more, fallout 4 wasn't played this much - it was played some, and sure, mods incentivize more people to play, but it's sudden repopularity is 100% due to the show doing so well, and people paying a lot more attention to the series, all of a sudden.
iirc it was closer to 5-10k players, this time last year, or so - defintiely not forgotten, by any means, but not a super 'active' title, either.
this was one of my favorite builds back in the die this is hype!

I'd like to see the sharpshooter remastered next. I feel like it's one of the more accessible builds early game due to how underpowered you tend to be.

I said it on your Frank Horrigan build but please remaster the Tinkerer build. I'd love to see what changes you make and how the dlc changes the build.
For real min-maxers, your Luck stat should be 9 and then raised to 10 with Battered Fedora or other piece of gear that raises luck by +1 to a total of 10.
Why? Well, because there is absolutely no difference between luck 10 and luck 11. You'll still need 5 shots to fill up one critical bar whether you have it at 10 or 11.
So, your starting Luck stat should be 8 + bobblehead + luck1 gear.
You could also lower agility to 7 as in early game you don't really need that many AP especially if you're going to use .44 pistols (good trader with plenty of ammo for it outside Diamond City, on any level).
This will give you the possibility to raise Perception to 9, save Preston, get the bobblehead for PER 10, save the special book for something else and have access to concentrated fire and penetrator from very early levels.
Also, locksmith is useless early game. It never really returns enough for perk point investment. The only time i get this perk is if I want a cryolator (without exploits) but that is not the case here.
Four Leaf Clover is another useless perk suggested here. At rank 1, it has like 7% chance to proc, then on following ranks it increases by 1 or 2% for a grand total of measly 10-12% if that many. Focus on Grim Reapers Sprint, which is much more useful, and at the final rank it makes Four Leaf Clover absolutely obsolete.
Penetrator 2 is also useless, as long as you have concentrated fire.
Gun Fu is god tier perk, and following everything above, you might not have it early on, but early on you'll mostly be hitting targets one by one anyway.
In any case, this is okay build, with plenty of perks wasted.
Instead, find SuperTwonky here on UA-cam and take a look at his VATS only run, which is essentially the same thing tried here, but much, much better.
I hope that there will be more build videos. I think that I may just go back to playing another 100 hrs, or so, again.
Always appreciate your backstory and the level build that plays out to that story. Still have fun with my Power Armored, Science, long range robot allied, Spray and Pray big explosions Juggernaut. No VATS, and coat power armor in explosion resist so you can even use gun up close and not die instantly. Institute would seem feasible, but you see synthetic as past the reason of robots, opting for Brotherhood for the Armor and ultimate robot finally. Seeing robots as companions for use, not that they should try to copy a humans existence. Why you find Ava, Mr Handy, combat bots usable, but forgoing brain bot builds. Offering to ally the settlements for Preston, but only in your ideals, but not allowing the Brotherhood to to enslave settlements. Knowing humans need freedom and to advance human advancing technology, to bring rule and order back to the Commonwealth.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate just how terrifying gunslingers like this are😺
