Nice video John. So nice to see the frames , Campag parts and 3ttt bars and stems. Memories of my late teens. Looking forward to your next video. All the best!
Great job John. Was a real pleasure to meet you in person finally! Seeing what caught your eye on my tables brings a tear to my eye as I was "lucky" to sell it all towards the end of the day. At least my wife thinks I'm lucky; I'll likely be buying some of it back on eBay in the coming months/ years ;-(
@@JohnsVintageRoadBikeGarage No never heard of any.. and if you search google etc you don't find anything in the Uk.. could be a good business idea :) Pete
Yes we have such a small population here in nz we don't have the amount of bike from the golden era of cycling like the Americans do,what ever you want they have it over there😢
@@johnnyboy1586 we organised a swap meet/ display in January here in Nelson, which was enthusiastically attended.Lots of lovely bikes and bits and pieces for sale. It’s probably a good a thing that we don’t have thousands of classic bikes for sale here,as I’d end up buying way too many
@@andypettitt1344 yeah it makes sense being in nelson as I heard there are alot of arts and craft people living there and thet would appreciate these classic beauties
Right around 21:17 you caught me and my girl haggling with a gentleman about a Cannondale that I ended up taking home. Was super cool to meet you John! Hopefully see you at venerable velos in August! Cheers
Very cool show John. You’ve inspired me to get out my old 1980 Gitane Super Corsa. bought from original owner,.I’ve put modern components on her to better the ride and fit.I’ve saved all the original parts when I want to make her a permanent wall hanger ❤.Super fast and fun to ride.Great show you have. You’re an inspiration 👍 Your content is greatly detailed and you make it fun. I really like how you show off your friends and family which makes your show even more realistic. Thanks for sharing your cool toys and knowledge. You have a wonderful collection.and you are humble 👍. You asked us for our feedback and I would like to see you riding some of the bikes. Just a thought 😊. You’ve devoted a huge amount of time I’m sure already to your show.so thanks for that.🚲😃
Like a kid in a candy store. I'd be the same. The SP-11 pedals looked familiar and I just checked, my Raleigh Classic has a pair of them ... original spec I think. The Classic is a lovely lightweight tourer dating from 1985/6 - Blackburn racks front and rear. Not sure whether the Classic was sold in the US - maybe, maybe not - worth keeping your eyes peeled for one though.
I think im going to do a couple other vids before I get started on that one. I have to prepare 4 bikes for the Auburn Cord Bicycle show in early June! But its coming! Thanks for watching
Another interesting video - So behind him is what appears to be one of those new gravel bikes with the disc brakes. A third hand tool was one of the items he showed. This will not be used on the new bikes. It makes me wonder if some of the specialized tools needed to work on older bikes are going to disappear. The bikes of yesteryear seem to look better than today's bikes.
So much fun! Tons of cool stuff and folks! Who was the fellow with the Bates and the Rene Herse?? He had some incredible stuff! I did recognize Harvey and Marcus from the 2018 Classic Rendezvous gathering.
LEGNANO = LEN-yahno. No hard G in there. BARTALI = BAHRta-lee. .ATALA = AHT-a-lah FREJUS= FRAY-juice Thanks for sharing. Off to La Barocca in Ragusa (Sicily) (think L'Eroica) this weekend...might be some vintage parts coming back with me from there if they have a swap/market on Saturday :-)
The right stuff. The right people. The Carnielli (Bottecchia) is a monumentally better (BEST) bike than most remotely could ever understand. Carnielli KNEW (!!!) superior geometry. The level of handling cannot be described. Workmanship, too. I guess you left the Mrs. behind..........

Your wife is an angel! Can you share upcoming show dates in advance so we can meet you there?
Wow! What a plethora of cycling goodies ...
Thanks for taking us along. I was unable to make this swap meet

Hey Fred, you should go to the Auburn Cord museum bike show in June. 7-9

Nice to know what to look for at swap meet.
omg that bottechia!
Just curious if you plan on keeping those die cast Schwinn trucks in their original boxes to display or take them out? 🤔 Lots of cool stuff.
I have a larger diecast collection. I will probably keep them in a box
Could be interested in the Bottecchia frameset with headset.
Great video John. Thanks for filming. How much for the Bottecchia frame and fork?
John, you need a Nobilette!
Picks up a pair of the best platform pedals made, SR SP11s.
That SW Cotten and the Nobilette would have come home with me. Any chance you have info on who had either for sale?
I can set you up. Give me an email. My email address is on the front page of my UA-cam channel
Is this a once a year event? Where do they advertise the dates?

I'm interested in the Bottecchia John if you're willing to ship it to Japan

Does Mark the Campy guy have a website or contact so I can buy some goods from him?
Pretty much all of that stuff sold out by, and at the end of the show, I'm afraid. Only have Campagnolo stock for my own projects now. Thanks though!
Even on video I notice the bad attitudes of people. Just like in real life! Just saying
