I wonder if maybe The Isle Acrocanthosaurus will be more like a Smilodon rather than a modern day Big Cat. It’ll wrestle it’s prey to the ground and once comfortable it’ll clamp it’s jaw on the throat, and once it’s bite is secure they’ll rip backward, using their specialized teeth to rend flesh and rip its victims throat out.
Would be VERY neat, but I Think Acro would be using it to sort of Fishhook it's prey. It's not gunna get super big things with those claws, as unfortunately it didn't have the range of motion to swing its claws OUTWARDS too much. I think Acro however will have VERY High Damage, and now that I mention it, perhaps Spino as well. I've always had a theory, that Dinosaurs with narrow skull structures had a higher than predicted bite force. Crocodiles and Alligators while having a long skull, have incredible power in those Jaws, thanks to the monstrous muscles that power them. I'm not saying "Acro had a better bite than T-Rex" but there's a possibility that the Carcharodontosaurids and Spinosaurids have a much greater bite force than we think. It all comes down to finding Muscle attachment points, pretty much
I think acro is very well suited for a role like this, you yourself mentioned that like a bison, acro had very large spines on its back wich were used for keeping the muscular structure in tact, and since those spines go all the way to the animals head, its safe to assume it had a very strong neck and by extension a strong bite.
i think a stamina leeching/draining grapple would be cool for acro and enable it to hunt larger prey, i'm just hoping cama and trike are just there for illustration purposes and not a hint at it's balancing.
It could be possible that a solo acro could take on a Cama or trike but I'd say it be more rare and the acro would have to get the jump on like a suprise attack on either one of em a group of acros in other hand might be able to do it.
Considering this game’s track record at how it views herbivores… Sure, they’ve had their times as strongest picks, but those often got nerfed. Granted, some of those were deserved. But if it was a carnivore? It’ll either get nerfed or, the oft result, get a pass.
Keep in mind that acro's niche actually fits it pretty well because it's buteforce is in the 17,000 Newton range not too strong but definitely enough to close windpipes
Acro is a bleeder but the good clamping to large prey is actually something it is pretty efficient at with its spine but also the structure of its jaw.
Here's what would work for acro if you ask me. A sauropod-hunter based apex that is resistant to venom but vulnerable to bleeders. It could also have a chokehold niche similar to big cats, pitbulls, and gila monsters, where it can grapple another player's limbs, body, and throat to suffocate them slowly. They could be vulnerable as a solo predator, especially to smaller predators like utah raptor but are formidable in small groups of 4-5. As said before, it could focus on sauropods like camarasaurus, diplodocus, and apatosaurus, and possibly even ceratopsians.
Interesting to note that the triceratops in the concept art is lying down, implying that it was sleeping, or more likely, recovering stamina. The acro may not be able to choke out something like a triceratops if both animals are healthy, but taking advantage of a tired animal may allow acro to kill things this large and otherwise dangerous with its ability via punishing poor stamina management. The balance here is that it's not a quick death, and it would effectively immobilise both animals, leaving the acro itself vulnerable for a herd member to rush to the trike's aid before suffocation. My guess is that it's a powerful move, but only used in opportunistic situations, similar to carno's ram ability. Dondi described it as a "Choking pin", but I'm hoping that doesn't imply that acro will be throwing things like trike into the dirt. It's a chunky animal and should be using its weight, but only actually 'pinning' below a certain threshold.
I really think a chill apex would be really neat, only having to eat large amounts every once in awhile, they can add whatever they want as long as it's not confined to it's ability like Utah is. (Also is that monster hunter music I smell?)
Acrocanthosaurus concept is pretty generic, but one thing I like another new acro is the model looks pretty banger, but Legacy will always be my favorite Overall another pretty awesome The Isle Analysis, hope you have a great day
i think acro could be interesting by inflicting bleed that lasts much much longer than any other bleed or maybe make the bleed impossible to heal standing or crouched. making it a true persistence/ambush predator. maybe slow speed (faster than opposing apexs of course) and medium stamina as a means to balance that out with the ability to see blood much easier. this would make it weaker to "hardened" herbivores. just thought that would make it more individualistic when compared to rex or spino n such
I like it but I want it to be a bleeder/brawler like a mid point between rex and giga. Having to use bleed to kill some Dino’s and raw damage to kill other Dino’s
Acro is honestly my fav new dino in evrima. Of course new is used loosely but I like that it finally seems to have a place. Its more laid back style and banger design makes it so appealing to me. I hate apexes as much as the next guy, but acro actually challenges a very specific group of players and I think it has some good potential as long as it doesn't beat up midtiers or get chased down by apexss.
It doesn't have a "banger design" it's obese and disgusting. It's a baffling downgrade considering the old design was actually really good and accurate.
it would be fun if acro bite worked like hyspi jump for example the more u hold on the bite button the bigger the bite will be also it could open its mouth wide like the thylacine
I don’t agree on the fact a single Acro shouldn’t be able to fight a cama or trike. Leopards barely break 200lbs, and that’s the biggest males. Yet they regularly hunt and kill single handedly, African buffalo. Which are on average 1,400lbs. Ferrets take out hares up to 7lbs heavier than themselves. Predators tend to be behaviorally evolved to best take down their preferred prey. Whether that be a stork being super precise and able to grab tiny fish, or whether it’s a 350lb tiger taking out a 1,200lb water buffalo. So Acro being like a leopard and grabbing an otherwise much larger animals throat to suffocate them seems very realistic to me.
I don't know where you read about leopards hunting African buffalo, but they do not. At most they would hunt an unprotected calf. Also, I think it is worth mentioning that comparing modern day animals - mammals especially - to dinosaurs is not the greatest idea, especially when they also had two entirely different niches. Hares are made for running, and while I'm not saying they can't fight back, I think it's safe to say a trike - a slow apex herbivore built to hold it's ground against attackers, would stand more chance against an acro than a hare against a ferret. And from a gameplay pov, the idea of Acro suffocating larger creatures may sound quite fun, but gameplay wise it would be very frustrating to die to what's essentially a land deino. Though, it looks like the Camara and trike were weakened, so maybe it won't be as bad as it sounds.
It was a wildabeest. the videos still on UA-cam of one male leopard killing two full grown wildabeest in a row (Which I was referencing, but wrongly thought it was a buffalo) My bad. Honestly, they are so many other dinosaurs they could've given this to. Acro is meant to be a bleeder. I get they didn't want it to overlap with giga, but I guess this is what's gonna happen when your roster is way too big.
Too many games want their playables to be unique, when many Dinosaurs overlapped into niches. Aside from size and prey, Giga and Acro were nearly the same animal. A specialized Carcharodontosaurid that could take on Sauropods. An IDEAL Acro to me, is a High Health, SPEEDING BULLET of A bleeding Apex. Acro could have a special Mechanic for a Version of Allo Grapple. It wouldn't last forever, but apply a slight stacking Debuffs to bleeding targets, to slow them down. This means that Acros can use this On Sauropods to bring them to a halt, and prevent Sauropod players from putting themselves in a better environment to defend themselves.

I feel that the whole suffication playstyle would have been showed better with different dinos rather than trike an cama. At least for the cama just have another acro in the back holding it down, and replace the trike with a pachyrhino. Wouldn't be a bad introduction to pachyrhino either considering it makes sense for pachyrhinos to sometimes fall victim to a single acro. It isn't like para where it isn't even trying to fight back against an allo half it's size. Acro's concept art definetely falls victim to poor thinking and wacky matchups. We'll either never see Acro in Evrima or it won't be for another 7 years. It honestly surprises me people take the time to analyze what dinos might be like, knowing how incompetent the developers are.
Ironic, an acro in legacy is one of the few dinos Utahs tend to have a hard time with(bite hit box reaches more backwards and with a tight turn its glitch hit box is insanely hard to dodge) yet here it is seemingly having issues against said species. I'm surprised though considering with how much of a chonk acro is that they didn't give it more art showing what all that chonk is for unless its throat clamp is going to then have the acro use its weight to push it down. The unusually wide acro mouth open could be a 3 call as in legacy its mouth opened wide as hell with the 3 call.
Strugglin down a camara and a trike, i dont know but it looks a bit to op for me, like think about it for a second, camara in the isle is 12tons, trike8.3tons, if a acro can get both of these apex herbivores down like this, it will bring a big balance problem to the game. Acro getting buffed to a point where it can solo apex herbis, or the trike and camara gets nerfed down to much....
Maybe the issue is that some dinosaurs CANT exist alongside each other cause of niche overlap, Giga and Acro are good examples. If either does anything other than bleed focus, it’s inaccurate, but if they both do bleed, then it’s overused in the game by apexes.
I feel like it somewhat stole rexes niche in the rex concept you see it using its weight to pin and knock over dinos but still an interesting concept overall. I just realized they are making another Dino that Utah won't even be able to eat completely and will just kos it like carno
I sure hope that acro will look in game just like that. The original concept art looks so much worse. In its original concept art it has a way shorter tale and an overall fatter body which makes it look ugly. Meanwhile Acro in this concept art actually looks cool.

@@EcoHuron no. The relationship you're thinking of is the Egyptian plover bird. Not to mention the two species mentioned rarely over lap in rages and the fact that all the crocodiles ever shown (in doctored images) are in the species in the sizes that they'd be actively hunting them for food. I know that this may be far fetched but Jesus, what if it just snapped that rapscallion on its’ side
I think the acro will be a wrestler and fight big herbivores
Just for Ur info acro is NOT a carcharadontosaur anymore it used to be but now it's a class of its own btw
The fucking
Huh
When did that happen
What makes acrocanthosaurus not a carcharodontosaur?
I feel like it somewhat stole rexes niche in the rex concept you see it using its weight to pin and knock over dinos but still an interesting concept overall.
I just realized they are making another Dino that Utah won't even be able to eat completely and will just kos it like carno
How is the clenching mechanic even gonna work. It’s either going to be very buggy or very unfun to play against
Has the isle devs quit and only the concept art designers are left?
Why is it always so loud when you make the "s" sound
Yea the art is cool but when its gonna come?
From concept to playable, the average is around 2-3 years
what if the grapel does bleed or the extra large bite does bleed
I sure hope that acro will look in game just like that. The original concept art looks so much worse. In its original concept art it has a way shorter tale and an overall fatter body which makes it look ugly. Meanwhile Acro in this concept art actually looks cool.
I’m happy acros coming in
Isn't update 6 supposed to come out this month? Also, no. Birds don't clean croc teeth that's a myth. Crocodiles (and all crocodilomorphs) loose teeth and grow them back infinity.
Shifty is gonna feel like an idiot lol
It's not a myth. It happens.
@@EcoHuron no. The relationship you're thinking of is the Egyptian plover bird. Any photo you can find is photoshopped, the only video of it ever happening was a fake crocodile with bird feed placed between the teeth/around the mouth, and they hasn't ever been an genuinely scientifically recorded account of it happening. Not to mention the two species mentioned rarely over lap in rages and the fact that all the crocodiles ever shown (in doctored images) are in the species in the sizes that they'd be actively hunting them for food. You can't find a genuine video of plovers cleaning croc teeth but I can give you handfuls of videos where crocs actively hunt and kill them even when resting on land.
No real photos
Only video is obviously fake
Never recorded scientifically
Not real unfortunately.
@@attichen4749 huh.. seems like a pretty mainstream misconception. Interesting. I think regardless if its realistic or not it could be an interesting and immersive thing to witness.
@@EcoHuron oh no doubt! My issue is just finding what they could reasonably do considering they should just loose teeth by hunting and eating.
@@attichen4749 I'm sure the developers have some kind of idea for it anyways. Maybe just some buffs? Not sure.
this is a very nesh gimig that will be very, VERY easy to fuck up. and we need more herbi concepts
