I think most people decide to cut either one or the other, not necessarily because they are too similar, but rather because they are similar *enough* for one to be sacrificed so the game has a smaller roster. because in the end thats why people have these discussions for the most part, if giga and acro were the only apex carnivores in the game not many people would argue against either being in the game, they could suggest "better" choices but thats another topic entirely. The game has too many dinosaurs for the population each server has, and even if we had 1000 player servers, having 50 species of dinosaurs would be a complete nightmare to balance, borderline impossible. I believe your suggestions are good, although i would argue that acro could be a more defensive predator but thats just an idea, yours work just as well if not better. But even then i think the true problem is the roster bloat itself, these problems like Giga vs acro are just symptoms of a much deeper issue. I'd argue that with a sizable map(like if spiro would get completely finished) and unofficial 300 to 600 player count servers the game would feel mostly balanced and would have at bare minimum 5 to 12 players of each playable if there was a limit for species, a species limit seems to be something they should work on so we don't have 70 utahs and only 20% of players a herbivores
I feel like acro is actually slimmer than a lot of people think it is going to be, it likely only looks chunky from the side due to its taller back and larger skull.
I like the concept very much and I think it should be implemented, but I do have an alternative. Acro’s spine could’ve been used for storing fat, so it could be have a slower hunger drain or, as mentioned in the video, much slower stamina drain, to facilitate a more high-mid game targeting gameplay.
Giga actually didn't live with Argentinosaurus, although there was a giant sauropod in the Candeleros Formation that lived with Giga. There is one big carcharodontosaurid that lived with Argentino, Mapusaurus, a Giga-sized predator with a bit of evidence for a pack lifestyle! It actually had bigger neural spines than Giga and might've been slightly bigger!

Giganotosaurus didn't live with Argentinosaurus but it did live with 2 relatives, 1 named and 1 unnamed. Which would make it a top 5 largest sauropod of all time.

I like the look of the Acro more than I do the Giga tbh. Also it's girth doesn't bother me because as you mentioned in the video it's around 3 tons less than the Giga. So I don't put as much importance on it's weight in my mind. Definitely looks heavier at first glance though.
I can agree with the idea for giga being more of a bleeder instead of a brawler and some of the information about giga you said about it coming together in certain niche situations is a nice touch. I like how your ideas of niche partitioning are well better designed that what so far we’re shown from the official dev team
1. As an acro fanatic I do agree with a lot of things, but my big thing on these two is how to get them to "live" somewhat peacefully with each other. With both of them being bleeders but more to sauropods there needs to be away to keep them apart most of the time. I see that a solo giga/pair/mob are large mid to apex killers/hunters only going for the largest of prey targets to get the most out of them. While our chunky acro would be the top mid tier, somewhat like how he is in legacy just a unit of an animal that can on all under him easy but not so strong that he can match the apexes. I do like the compaison that 1 giga=2 acros that does make a lot of sense, it shows that even acro as strong threat that it is, that shows giga is more of one.
i like the idea of them having a fearce rivalry,for example 2 acros could challange 1 giga,or 2 gigas could challange 3 acros,just a brutal struggle for power.

my own idea for the acro Acro was shown to choke a sauropod so I thought it would be cool if: Acro would choke down dinosaurs with none-low stamina left And to do this acro would bash its prey and exhausting them if prey didn't hurt acro badly enough

I had an idea before to make Acro ,giga, and car had different each having one enhanced sense like Acro having supieor hearing be able to hear the faintest cry’s or quietest kills making them vulnerable to the para shout,carchar having great vision that will rivial dilophosaurus being able to see the largest of shadows however making them vulnerable to hypsilophodon spit and of course gigs with its smell bein land sharks like x zaguer said making their play style’s unique and making them very different
I will just say that there are good ideas here and there. But i would say, just wait and see where it goes. For all we know, we dont know how the game is going to be when they add Acro and Giga etc. Just wait and see how Acro and Giga will play out and how balance they are. For all we know, they might be perfect when they are out or they need a rework.
For those suggesting _Acrocanthosaurus_ should be removed impart because it's too similar to its earlier South American cousin, go sit in a corner. Not only is the former's bite force weaker than the latter's but as counterbalance it's speed is fairly superb (referring to Giganotosaurus here.) With that said, the design of programming pack behavior in-game seems transparent; it makes no sense to include an unnecessary behavioral mechanic when users will congregate as their animals anyway. With further improvements, perhaps adding a stress inhibitor to the H.U.D. limits the boundaries users can perform with their dinosaurs--the animal becoming very stressed will lead to health damage. Something which should be more prevalent to this game is the Environment--where on each island will you exactly find species more suited to? Because one thing about Acro and Giga, they had completely different habitats. Now, while these conditions might be tricky, edgewise, it's on mechanic a player can use to understand the layout of their dinosaur's environment and the prey and--or--plants they're restricted to. P.S. I want to preference by saying this: YES, Acrocanthosaurus is indeed a carcharodontosaur. The consensus has been public knowledge for 10 years now; there is no "maybe" to suggest otherwise. Something kind of commonplace with Allosaurs--especially ones shared within the Carcharodontosauridae group--is they tend to fashion longer back vertebrae than most other theropods.

I think that mega pecks and mix pecks can be avoided by adding something like stress like when you are close to a carnivore (as a herbivore) you get stress which decreases your damage but increases your speed, it can work with tears and suche and on the unofficial server it can be turned of I also don't think it should efekt most herbivorous mines with few axeptions but idk its just an idea
I think it would be fine if they made them the same stats wise but had a slightly different special attack. in that way, acro would just spice up the game with a new face. Those that like acro can play it without messing with the balance of the game. It would be like shadow fighters in super smash bros. The only other way I'd see it working would be to make acro a diet giga. Acro is fat because of it's slow metabolism. It wouldn't have the same dietary requirements as giga but would also be slightly weaker. Idk it's a bit of a balancing nightmare, so let's just hope it's not that bad.
I actually have an idea for acrocanthosaurus ,I would give acro the only apex to ambush a prey in dense forest/jungles since it's skinnier than giga when looking at it from top view.

Giganotosaurus is known to be slower than a T. rex so I think acro outrunning it makes way more sense than the other way around. And it's not just because giga was slower than rex xD
They do not in any way, look similar. The giga had a thinner skull structure when looking at it, and compared to the Acro, the acro has a much larger crest. Aswell as the hump on its back
Honestly agree but I'd prefer as much as I love acro for it to be scraped ,as it's virtually a smaller giga since thier apart of the same family .And trex could fill in the brawler gameplay since it's the largest therpod ever just because it's an ambush predator doesn't mean it can't be a brawler that could just bully every other apex cause Rex's were that op irl, but thanks to new studies nerfing the rex would be easy by just making it the slowest apex since they couldn't run just speed walked like modern day elephants to the speed estimated speed of 25 mph so they would be slower then giga who were built for speed with thier slicker bodies . Also do love the idea of both of then having great sense since trex has the greatest eyesight ever and a great sense smell not sure of gigas eyesight but iT also had a great sense of smell. They would also occupy different niches due to the type of prey items they hunted giga would be able to take down sauropods due to thier serrated teeth which could tear chunks of flesh off and bleed down targets if would also hunt large prey item like hadrasours ,triceratopsids, any related creatures and stego related creatures etc while being able to scavenge . While the trex couldn't hunt sauropods due to them not bleed targets out instead they just did alot of damage with thier Ludacris biteforce and it would instead just hunt the already listed large herbivores and scavenge so they would play different even if they had to fight for food from time to time
Add both and give both decent bleed and make acro a little faster running. Both had a nasty set of teeth and both attacked in the very same way.. it has also been said that Acros grew as big as Rex in some cases so with that said there is no reason it is not up there with Gig and Rex as top apexes.
Differences Acro looks good and alot more accurate and I just like it more in the isle now, (Note giga still looks nice but its not as good anymore in the model ) but yes this video was really good and just so BADASS hope you have a good day though

When i think of this acro i think of a robust predator that can run quite fast but for that i would give it a huge stam Drain so you would end up with something like a bear that can bully smaller carnis of there kill and run quite fast to catch its prey or run away from bigger carnis but on the other side i would make giga all about bleed and stam so you can follow allmost everything and when you catch up to it the prey it has two choices stand and fight the giga or keep running and bleed out slowly and when it comes to the two fighting i would give the acro a 40 percent Chance of winning against the giga because of it beeing so thick so the giga would still have to play smart so it cant just brute force its way that would be more rexes playstile

i think for how acro can escape giga, we could use that absolute H E F T. mass has quite the affect on acceleration, so why not give acro what carno used to have but a lil more extreme. it'll essentially be a freight train that has okayish speed but relatively fast for its size, but turning and coming to quick stops will be a bit weird, with all the heft, slides will be significantly longer, and knowing the terrain ur running into will be important however im more interested in how the current carnivores we have will compete or even find space in the ecosystem with the bigger dinos. if cera is meant to be a bully, and cant exactly get places all too fast, then its just gonna be slapped by an allo with its funny lil trot speed
Sorry to be a 🤓 but we only have evidence of mapusaurus (a close relative of giga) hunting argentinosaurus in groups, it is likely that Giga did the same, but we are not 100% sure yet. But most paleontologists agree that after the kill is secured the mapusaurus went their separate ways

If acro gets a tackle I think it sould be able to try to eat a living victim ex you tackle down a stego and instead of biting you try to eat it alive at the cost of stam and if you fail you mite have a sort stun on the acro and victim.

@@j.c-6424 Well its still a bit small compared to some of the famous ones that "are" on the roster currently and lets not mention magy , like the brachiosaurus which wont be playable for some darn reason and will be AI. That sucks imo because what difference does it really make? You could say players will abuse its power? brother its a sauropod that walks slower than a turtle, its pretty much your own fault if you die by one.
And the Cama deserves to be bigger aswell

my own idea for the acro
Acro was shown to choke a sauropod so I thought it would be cool if:
Acro would choke down dinosaurs with none-low stamina left
And to do this acro would bash its prey and exhausting them if prey didn't hurt acro badly enough
it might do this when released

I had an idea before to make Acro ,giga, and car had different each having one enhanced sense like Acro having supieor hearing be able to hear the faintest cry’s or quietest kills making them vulnerable to the para shout,carchar having great vision that will rivial dilophosaurus being able to see the largest of shadows however making them vulnerable to hypsilophodon spit and of course gigs with its smell bein land sharks like x zaguer said making their play style’s unique and making them very different
I will just say that there are good ideas here and there.
But i would say, just wait and see where it goes.
For all we know, we dont know how the game is going to be when they add Acro and Giga etc.
Just wait and see how Acro and Giga will play out and how balance they are.
For all we know, they might be perfect when they are out or they need a rework.

For those suggesting _Acrocanthosaurus_ should be removed impart because it's too similar to its earlier South American cousin, go sit in a corner. Not only is the former's bite force weaker than the latter's but as counterbalance it's speed is fairly superb (referring to Giganotosaurus here.) With that said, the design of programming pack behavior in-game seems transparent; it makes no sense to include an unnecessary behavioral mechanic when users will congregate as their animals anyway. With further improvements, perhaps adding a stress inhibitor to the H.U.D. limits the boundaries users can perform with their dinosaurs--the animal becoming very stressed will lead to health damage. Something which should be more prevalent to this game is the Environment--where on each island will you exactly find species more suited to? Because one thing about Acro and Giga, they had completely different habitats. Now, while these conditions might be tricky, edgewise, it's on mechanic a player can use to understand the layout of their dinosaur's environment and the prey and--or--plants they're restricted to.
P.S. I want to preference by saying this: YES, Acrocanthosaurus is indeed a carcharodontosaur. The consensus has been public knowledge for 10 years now; there is no "maybe" to suggest otherwise. Something kind of commonplace with Allosaurs--especially ones shared within the Carcharodontosauridae group--is they tend to fashion longer back vertebrae than most other theropods.

I think that mega pecks and mix pecks can be avoided by adding something like stress
like when you are close to a carnivore (as a herbivore) you get stress which decreases your damage but increases your speed, it can work with tears and suche and on the unofficial server it can be turned of
I also don't think it should efekt most herbivorous mines with few axeptions

I think it would be fine if they made them the same stats wise but had a slightly different special attack. in that way, acro would just spice up the game with a new face. Those that like acro can play it without messing with the balance of the game. It would be like shadow fighters in super smash bros. The only other way I'd see it working would be to make acro a diet giga. Acro is fat because of it's slow metabolism. It wouldn't have the same dietary requirements as giga but would also be slightly weaker. Idk it's a bit of a balancing nightmare, so let's just hope it's not that bad.
I actually have an idea for acrocanthosaurus ,I would give acro the only apex to ambush a prey in dense forest/jungles since it's skinnier than giga when looking at it from top view.
I feel like this video wasn't really needed but at the same time I still appreciate this video

Giganotosaurus is known to be slower than a T. rex so I think acro outrunning it makes way more sense than the other way around. And it's not just because giga was slower than rex xD
They do not in any way, look similar.
The giga had a thinner skull structure when looking at it, and compared to the Acro, the acro has a much larger crest. Aswell as the hump on its back

Honestly agree but I'd prefer as much as I love acro for it to be scraped ,as it's virtually a smaller giga since thier apart of the same family .And trex could fill in the brawler gameplay since it's the largest therpod ever just because it's an ambush predator doesn't mean it can't be a brawler that could just bully every other apex cause Rex's were that op irl, but thanks to new studies nerfing the rex would be easy by just making it the slowest apex since they couldn't run just speed walked like modern day elephants to the speed estimated speed of 25 mph so they would be slower then giga who were built for speed with thier slicker bodies . Also do love the idea of both of then having great sense since trex has the greatest eyesight ever and a great sense smell not sure of gigas eyesight but iT also had a great sense of smell.
They would also occupy different niches due to the type of prey items they hunted giga would be able to take down sauropods due to thier serrated teeth which could tear chunks of flesh off and bleed down targets if would also hunt large prey item like hadrasours ,triceratopsids, any related creatures and stego related creatures etc while being able to scavenge . While the trex couldn't hunt sauropods due to them not bleed targets out instead they just did alot of damage with thier Ludacris biteforce and it would instead just hunt the already listed large herbivores and scavenge so they would play different even if they had to fight for food from time to time

Add both and give both decent bleed and make acro a little faster running. Both had a nasty set of teeth and both attacked in the very same way.. it has also been said that Acros grew as big as Rex in some cases so with that said there is no reason it is not up there with Gig and Rex as top apexes.
Acrocanthosaurus was not growing as big as t rex.

Differences Acro looks good and alot more accurate and I just like it more in the isle now, (Note giga still looks nice but its not as good anymore in the model ) but yes this video was really good and just so BADASS hope you have a good day though

IMO, the Giganotosaurus's concept art looks better than the actual model. But after seeing Dominion (and accidentally buying two Gigas from the JW Captivz eggs), I guess it could be worse.
But making an Acro being a brawler would make it conflict with rex.

When i think of this acro i think of a robust predator that can run quite fast but for that i would give it a huge stam Drain so you would end up with something like a bear that can bully smaller carnis of there kill and run quite fast to catch its prey or run away from bigger carnis
but on the other side i would make giga all about bleed and stam so you can follow allmost everything and when you catch up to it the prey it has two choices stand and fight the giga or keep running and bleed out slowly
and when it comes to the two fighting i would give the acro a 40 percent Chance of winning against the giga because of it beeing so thick so the giga would still have to play smart so it cant just brute force its way that would be more rexes playstile
id say 2 acros may just have the edge over a single giga

i think for how acro can escape giga, we could use that absolute H E F T. mass has quite the affect on acceleration, so why not give acro what carno used to have but a lil more extreme. it'll essentially be a freight train that has okayish speed but relatively fast for its size, but turning and coming to quick stops will be a bit weird, with all the heft, slides will be significantly longer, and knowing the terrain ur running into will be important
however im more interested in how the current carnivores we have will compete or even find space in the ecosystem with the bigger dinos. if cera is meant to be a bully, and cant exactly get places all too fast, then its just gonna be slapped by an allo with its funny lil trot speed
Acros vs giga should be that acro wins with raw power and quickness but the giga wins in the long run if the acro doesn’t kill it fast enough.
Giganotosaurus is substantially larger, so it should win a head on confrontation.
Sorry to be a 🤓 but we only have evidence of mapusaurus (a close relative of giga) hunting argentinosaurus in groups, it is likely that Giga did the same, but we are not 100% sure yet. But most paleontologists agree that after the kill is secured the mapusaurus went their separate ways

u should be complaining about giga and carcha, giga and acro have pretty different sizes and in legacy, completely different playstyles, giga was slow with TONS of bleed, acro was EXTREMELY fast with relatively good bleed, but giga and carcha? they are basically the same

gigas would eat titanosaurs(which argentino is iirc) and rebbachisaurid sauropods
Both species lived in similar (if not the same) habitats and were similar in size so chances are, they lived similar lives.
Of course I could be wrong but it makes sense to me. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Giganotosaurus certainly hunted the ancestors of Argentino as proven by tyrannotitan and patagotitan which are believed by some to be the further ancestors of giga, mapu and argentino.

dang they made giga so ugly. It looks so stereotypical. It looks more like the older iterations of the giga. The skull is just off man. I wish they just kept the older model because why do rex, utah, trike, para, allo etc get to keep their models while giga is one of the most of the not the most iconic dinosaur in the game rn.
