A WoW fanbody. Blizzard has stolen so many ideas from Arenanet and WoW's zones are far more bland than any GW2 map. That's not even difficult though because WoW zones are typically lifeless and cartoony to a lazy degree. WoW is a bad game and sticking with it through all the terrible expansions and decisions is sad but thinking it's still good is almost delusional.
You think Blizzard is a better developer than Anet? That perplexes me because imo they never were. WoW fanboys never go into detail about what is actually good about the game. Say whatever you want but you can't explain why because it isn't true.

Anet did a good job in janthir. If you ignore the bugs in the events and npc, the map looks pretty good. Also we get some nice features, like homesteads and warclaw remake

For those who still believe that Reburox is a "Genuine" critic of the game, who is telling it how it is and everyone else is a shill or white knight defender of GW2, think about this.
The Mighty Teapot is one of the, if not the largest content creator of Guild Wars 2, he viewed a couple of Reburox's videos on stream and tried to get in contact with Reburox to have a discussion about Guild Wars 2. Anyone can go to Teapots channel and see that he constantly brings on content creators on his "Tea-Times" for discussions of Guild Wars 2 that last multiple hours each time. Is there anything this game could do for you to not hate post? You had a pretty positive view of at the very least the open world, homesteads, spears, and all you can say is "the game is failing at player acquisition", "the expansion is good but the game is still bad", "Arenanet clearly don't care about the game, just throw out a questpack and embrace the gamble". And this whole video pretty clearly ignores the large amount of content coming in the future -- legendaries, fractal w/ CM, raid...
Also, why are you hating on player acquisition but then also hating on them adding tutorials to the expansion? Unlike what you said, they did this in End of Dragons too, essentially copy pasting some questing abilities in towns like Queensdale to the expansions. Why is this something you take issue with? By nature of this expansion being disconnected from the Dragons means you WILL get new players who jump in right at the new expansion. This happens in WOW too. I distinctly remember you complaining about the skill level of GW2 players before too, not being able to dodge or CC, so...?
You also fail to address why metas are sustaining for map population, and that's profitability -- these maps will stay relevant as long as there is content that is enjoyable or profitable for players to do that require them. Notably, the legendaries will require these maps heavily (and legendaries requiring certain maps is a major boon, look no further than Vision or Aurora keeping a steady stream of players in LWS3/LWS4), the achievements, repeatable hearts (which are made to be profitable and it is absolutely not fair to criticize the profitability or repeatability of the maps until we see what maxed hearts are giving), collectible goods all contributing to Homesteads, repeatable hearts, etc. Also, world bosses very frequently get slotted into meta trains.
This video is so unfairly harsh, as are most of your videos to be fair. From the claims of them copying Grizzly Hills (wrong, it was inspired by an Anet dev travelling to a European country IIRC) to the average GW2 player/very loud minority hating the map (wrong, the maps are pretty widely appreciated).. I also think it's quite poetic that the video clips you chose to use were you doing actual z DPS on a meta while essentially leeching/not being in the squad doing the event.

GW2 takes a completely different approach to the generic style of mmo's, as is evident in many reviews. GW2 does everything different, from questing and exploration to mounts and events. This can be a put off to some or attention seeking for others.
Regardless of that, the approach that GW2 took in regards to not competing to be your primary mmo, but rather your secondary dip in and dip out mmo, puts it in a place where it will always have a healthy and fluctuating player base.
People whose interests are piqued by this unique approach to mmo's stay and make GW2 their main game, while others can always come back to the game with little to no barriers since the game is horizontal progression with no sub fee.

I actually prefer something like GW2 that keeps it’s old content accessible, even if it becomes a Gala Delves, rather then pave over it completely, if only for the sake of game preservation (but also, I still frequent core Tyria maps and there are still folks all over).
I’m not too concerned with them adding combat features to mounts like the chain pull atm-part of me feels however that the sheer freedom of general movement of the Skyscale was kind of a pandora’s box. It is super fun and convenient to get around like that and I’m glad they’re implementing a lot of map verticality to complement it, but if we’re talking changes that was definitely a huge change that removed the need to contend with terrain features, and by extension reduces the time players general spend exploring a map. It was a bold move that I’m ultimately happy with, but yeah any changes like that run the risk of backfiring if they’re not careful.
Lastly I’ll just say on that note, the movement and skill expression are just fluid and fun in Guild Wars 2, which along with the gorgeous environment design keeps me coming back. And if I ever get bored, I can take a break even for a long time, and come back knowing I won’t have meaningfully fallen behind, and all that content is there waiting for me (and with no subscription on top of that).

    This new expansion absolutely not worth the price. I wouldn't even pay half its price. and I really suggest you shouldn't either. What new expansion is currently doing is;
    - re-purposing already existing spear as "new weapon",
    - re-labelling traits to prevent them working with "new weapon" instead of revamping old and outdated traits because that's the easy way,
    - re-purposing already existing mount as "new mount",
    - introducing new problems to justify "new mount" mechanics,
    - introducing a glorified trophy showcase calling it "homestead" which aims to provide a time sink rather than a meaningful improvement to any of the game mechanics,
    - introducing "new recipes" to this "homestead" to increase this time sink rather than integrating already existing furniture system of guilds,
    - increasing visual clutter with spear abilities despite all the complaints about visual clutters???
    - adding instanced content which caters to a very small part of community (except fractals) instead of re-vamping instance system to make them more accessible to everyone,
    - adding a new map but introducing it with one of the worst visual clutters and debuffs in game (corruption),
    - making absolutely no attempt to integrate this new map with existing systems like Thousand Seas Pavilion.
If you believe Anet will probably improve these in the future or this is only the first part of the expansions, hate to break your bubble but historic data shows the opposite. "Hoping" the rewards will improve has been a hopium for GW2 players since its release and many long time players can tell this exact response as well. Without any solid claims by developers you shouldn't hope for any improvements. Previous expansions still haven't even been integrated with existing systems like above. None of the prevalent issues are improved upon by Anet. Instead the expansion strategy has always been just dumping new mechanics on top of other ones and making previous ones less and less relevant due to poor integration like all those mounts that was one of the main sale point of Path of Fire expansion, how often do you really see them around maps they aren't designed for compared to skyscales?
I played the game a lot with 5000+ hours but noticing all these small details and the lack of Anet response really made me realise how little Anet is caring about the game. They don't even care about marketing, the summer bikini sale was the first meaningful marketing decision they had made in the past 5 years. That would be a tell-tale sign for any other game that the developers don't care about game mechanics and don't intend on making big changes anymore.

One thing that is kinda concerning for me in GW2 is that they are trying to implement mounts to the combat or encounters for a long time, only to justify the lack of interesting content and say " we added a new mastery". Yes, a mastery that was not needed before but now they added a a problem so you will need the new mastery.examples:
End of Dragons, use ur turtle to break the defiance bar or break a wall or remove the specific shield: examples:
You need turtles to remove the green shield from Jade monsters at the Gang War Meta event.
You need turtles to break the wall at The Battle for the Jade Sea Meta event or Gyala Delve Meta event.
Secrets of the Obscure, use ur skyscale to grabs orbs, use your skyscale to fireball to the eye of the boss after you try to become a mime .
The fireball of the Skycale is the most useless skill in the game for a mount and it have created a bunch of bastards leechers who only mount up, use fireball 1 time and get 100% of the reward.
Now they are modifying the already existing warclaw, I do not have a problem with a reform of a mount, but do not sell me the mount 2 times, It is like the MEME of Lisa Simpson buying Malibu Stacy " its the same Stacy, but with a new stupid hat" .

I'd rather them fix all the core maps and add content to old maps rather than continue to spread the already thin player base through even more maps. Hell, why not even have expansions that require previous expansions? For example, you want to do an expansion in Dzalana? Require PoF so that you can use all the PoF maps in the story instances. Or do like they did with mounts and have the relevant maps unlocked by buying that expansion, so there is more than 1 way to get a map.

I like the idea of including maps of previous expansions. The problem here is that the content of these maps is linked to the situation at hand during the original expansion - for PoF having Balthasar, Joko and Kralkatorrik around. This needs to be figured out somehow.
I don't think requiring another expansion will work out. It just makes the acquisition more confusing and adss potential of people feeling scammed as they didn't understand they need another expansion as well.

As a new player (joined in May I think?) all I can say is it took me an ungodly amount of time to begin to understand how to play the game, all its systems, the plethora of currencies, etc.
And in all this time I’ve only managed to complete base game personal story and SotO. I have done 1 chapter of JW since launch because… I just don’t have the time after doing my daily pvp for backpack, daily fractals, dragonstorm, daily crafting, etc. and I don’t see the point of skipping that for JW story beyond warclaw and spear acquisition.
There are so many time gated things you feel like there’s a laundry list of things you have to do daily lest you fall significantly behind on your self-appointed goals.
I love the game though, mainly due to combat and pvp, the build-crafting and how easy it is to switch specs/class according to what I feel like playing.
So I’d say yea, GW2 doesn’t make it easy on new players for sure but the game itself is, IMO, the best MMO on the market for combat and pvp. It’s such a pity Anet seems to only care about pve.

You can have objectively controversial or negative opinions about the game and back them up evidentially and critically, without misrepresenting the game. I'm not just a fanboy who jerks the game off. I consistently do decently end game content, have played the game for quite some time, and I have a long list of grievances with the game that I'd love to fix or talk about. Here are a few (first few are even JW specific!):
      1. Content release schedule, specifically to this expansion, is utter trash. There is NO long term goal for players to work towards for this first quarter prior to actual repeatable content like raids and legendaries get released, and that means players are going to objectively get burnt out repeating the same overtuned, buggy hearts for rewards that are necessary for content that hasn't been released yet.
      2. Unintuitively included storylines/seeming lack of 'commitment' to certain bits: in this expansion the following categories have been teased but thoroughly underexplored: White Mantle, Bloodstones, Titans, Koda (there's more I'm missing). They're clearly trying to pose Saul as a good alternative to the other demon-child White Mantle like those twins we meet. Why is this like a singular interaction, some interactable journals, and otherwise no content in the story? The Bloodstones are hardly touched on again which SUCKS because a new player jumping into this story will have no clue about the Door of Komali or the history of bloodstones and magic in Tyria, so why don't they rehash the importance of the bloodstones and what exactly the White Mantle are using innocents for? The Titans also have a rich rich history with the Flameseeker Prophecies and a bloody battle with the Mursaat, why are we not getting any actual backstory (since we have characters like Malice who are actually invested in our opponents being Titans because of the history Charr have had with them)? There was even a hint that Waiting Sorrow had something interesting happen to them when they were trying to act as the Voice of the Lowland tribe, that caused her to essentially run away in defeat and join the Astral Ward. Is Koda a potentially dangerous entity? This was skipped over pretty quickly in the story
      3. A lot of the events in the expansion don't go far enough in complexity -- the first map is about as complex as the Bog Queen, which has a non-evolving design that ultimately consists of 4 identical subsections slapped together. The lack of progression in this fight could be construed as a monotony rather than a progressive fight. Other events in the map rely on repetitive use of the chain ability on the Warclaw. This is incredibly necessary expansion on your thought about mount combat breaking the flow of the game in your video. The second map has a boss event that was actually made more impactful and fun as a result of a game-breaking bug, and as it stands is instead a slightly more scuffed version of Dragonstorm where the two need to be killed at the same time, but across the map. Which is fine and could've been AWESOME if maybe the squads had to swap bosses halfway, or the bosses were dynamic and moved, but instead it's just kind've a cool-ish fight with a slight complexity added to when you burn the bosses that is otherwise sort of flat.
      4. The LFG system could use an insane overhaul -- why is there no control in a party? Why can blocked players still join? Why can't you request players type in their role to be accepted into a party? Why is there no way to ban players from joining? Why is the LFG system so bloated? Why is the LFG system dead in GW2?
      5. Power creep is a very valid discussion to raise when talking about the weird makeup of the GW2 community -- the overwhelming majority of the community is kinda bad at the game, so the devs intentionally make builds stronger to provide a means in which players can compete without long rotations. Yet, these buffs make actually good players blast through content like never before, with 15-20 second Vale Guardian phases. As a result, end game content is trivialized and now you have a paradox where either the endgame player is mad content is too easy, or the noob is mad content is too hard. There's a very clear balance point to be made here about the usefulness of difficulty modes, and can be USED as a means to bring up how GW2 instanced content is lacking in complexity and depth and quantity.
Notice how all of these are framed as critiques of the game and story WITHOUT framing it like "GW2 is dead" or other doom takes? You're right, raising a discussion around the game is important because otherwise the content in this game is monotonous build discussions and story reactions. Meta discussion is always interesting. However, meta discussion can be deleterious to a game or its community when a creator repeatedly makes inflammatory content and then doesn't interact with the community to clarify, like you're now trying to do here, that the game isn't actually, well lets use your titles here, "destroyed", "has no community", "killed", "directionless".

Do you honestly think the story in this expansion falls flat, because this imo is pretty amazing.
Also, the new maps are really awesome and it's so nice not having a meta event on a timer. I will 100% be spending 90% of my time in janthir for the foreseeable future. Hopefully the homesteads system will be a primary focus for rewards and keep these maps important to players, and as they develop it in the future they will bring relevance to the old maps and areas.

No the story is good but the start was for sure not for everyone. It was way waaaaaay too text heavy. Yeah the maps are great but The majority plays meta trains and the first map has no place in that Meta train system.
That's why I think they have to create something that keeps those maps worth while.

GW2 is not perfect. None of the others are. The fundamental problems are the game itself and the people's expectations of what it should be. If anyone forgets how it was from start, might start going back from the basics. When I started this game, I am afraid of the gear grind treadmill. But then learned this is an exploration RPG. You pick up some start areas like story, then get lost in the hearts (tasks) or be pulled to an event/event chain. Mounts is a testament of that exploration-based design. I draw this to the rifts system of D3 where the map instance changes everytime. For me, as long as it tickles my curiosity to explore, I'm game

GW2 has it's downs like every other game out there but it has it's ups also:
    - group events / metas are the best out there. i haven't seen any game coming even close to the zerg scale this game has
    - mounts... do i even need to explain. after using these mounts, whenever i try them in other games, they feel .... bland, boring
    - bugs... i haven't played wow or ffxiv lately but personally i have found very few bugs with even less game breaking. Now i don't want to sugar cote it. most of them will never be fixed, especially the ones that don't break the game but still, keep in mind. it was released with almost no beta test aside from weapons from the player base. that is a plus for the devs from me
    - NO DOWNTIME/Maintenance... EVER. New patch or expansion, no problem, exit the game, download it, go back in. No 8 hours maintenance every week, just saying
    - No subscriptions, no "seasons pass" and the convenience items, you buy them once with card or ingame gold and have them forever
    - Combat. Simple to get into, extremely hard to master... in some casses. One day i am 11111111-ing in some meta event, next thing i am playing "the piano" in a raid/strike/fractal. Something for everyone. Plus the animations are on point.
There are others but i will stop here.
Please understand that these are just my 2 cents and you are free to agree/disagree.
Are there other mmos out there that do some things better. Hell yes, but there are other things gw2 does better.. a lot better.
Pick your poison since i don't think there will ever be an mmo who does absolutely everything right.
For me gw2 's plusses makes me ... tolerate the minuses

I hate metas, it's just a clutter of nameplates. I've played this game for 7000 hours. I don't get why people keep thirsting over these stupid metas, most group events don't even scale decently . I'd rather do more 5-15 man content in open world instead, stuff that actually reasonably scales. Oh wait they can't do that because of player builds performing so vastly different.

Other videos you make usually feel deliberately contrarian to the point I can't take them seriously but for this one you at least shed your fake shell of rage bait for the most part so I guess it's worth commenting on.
    1. (Mini-)Expansion being the wrong label for SOTO, JW and upcoming expansions
Why would this cause wrong expectations for new players? They do not have the context of what prior expansions meant for the game and ANET has been explicitly clear in what expansions will look like from now on so how is this label misleading? The label of expansion can mean so many different things for different games and as long as they are upfront with what you are getting, it's the correct term. The new expansion model still includes:
    - New gameplay features
    - New combat features
    - New story
    - New maps
    - New masteries
    - New endgame content
    - New skins
    - New achievements
    - Reworking old systems
and more. Everything old expansions included. Sure the overall scale has been toned down but that doesn't mean the fact it expands the game in big meaningful ways is wrong. What exactly about this makes it not deserving of the expansion title? Calling it quest pack or map pack is genuinely misleading as it dismisses all of the other above mentioned features.
    2. Player numbers and player retention
You're getting these impressions from where exactly? Random reddit posts with people announcing in a lengthy text as to why they are leaving the game as if they were a plane departing from an airport? Unofficial third party websites that make up numbers? Sources would actually help you prove your point.
    3. Tutorials belong in the core game, not the 5th expansion
Agreed. Should be part of the new player experience and this is valid criticism. However your example of the first story mission taming the new war claw is not really a good example. I think this is supposed to show that these are wild animals who have a lot of energy in them and need taming. And that they are affected by the person riding them. If they get jittery, that affects the warclaw. This doesn't have any gameplay effects but it adds nice backstory and personality to the animal. Better example would have been the heart where you are taught dodging, using cc, etc. like they did in EOD
    4. Open world reception in this expansion
It is a minority. The vast majority of the people I know and people I see online are in love with the new maps and a lot of them are even saying these are some of their favorite maps. It's true that a lot of people only focus on making money when looking at open world and their meta trains and as such some of them are rating them quite low but I believe that if I enjoy a map, I will return to it purely for the sake of actually enjoying it. I am sure people with an exploratory mindset agree with this statement.
Old maps are not necessarily bound to die quickly though because they are associated with acquiring a lot of exclusive things like armor skins, weapon skins and legendaries.
    5. Sometimes content is good and sometimes bad
This just a general effect of live service games. One aspect I will agree with you on is the bugginess. Yes, games have bugs in general, however gw2 is really really heavy on them and usually on high traffic content like the metas and boss fights especially. This is unacceptable and I agree with you here.
    6. Mounts are becoming their own combat tool and your concerns
I can overall see where you're coming from with this and it's a valid concern to raise. However I think it adds a bit more dynamics to fights. The way mounts are utilized in combat right now is I think a great middle ground and where it should stay. If it keeps moving further however where just staying on your mount seems more advantageous than fighting yourself i wholeheartedly agree with you that they should not go that far.
    7. Housing cashgrab/not connected to expansions
Housing does connect multiple expansions and the way it is right now is pretty anti-whale because a lot of the furniture needs for example map currency or other things that you can only acquire through gameplay. Yes, they will be adding stuff to the gem store in the future, however we don't know in what scale and how much it will cost yet so using hypotheticals as basis of your argument seems not that well thought out. Once they release overpriced furniture and it actually becomes standard practice to use only those I will agree with your argument but not as long as it's purely based on vibes like right now.

#3 "However your example of the first story mission taming the new war claw is not really a good example". In my opinion it is a good example, because,in Path of Fire, when you tryed to obtain a raptor you borrowed one, when you tryed to obtain a Springer or a Skimmer, you borrowed one, they were trials and tutorial at the same time like, hey look, here is a ranch of dinosaurs? Instead, they made you obtain your warclaw. It is a good example of bad placement of content. I mean, WHY is this here and not in the original expansion where this mount comes from? The answer is simple in my opinion, they sold you the same mount, twice, but with extra jumps. The same way they sold everyone Skyscale but with extra fireball, only to make a Legion of Leechers who only press 1. Now you will have infinite leechers with the extra endurance just hitting anything, maybe not, they might stay with skycale, its safer in they sky.
6# "The way mounts are utilized in combat right now is I think a great middle ground"? Middle ground? Skywatch + Amnytas is "Middle ground" ? Skywatch is use your mount to pick orbs, jump the plataform with ur mount to pick orbs. Amnytas is hit everything with your new Fireball + Mount for more orbs + Yoga + mount for fireball again.

Intro: Not a good start saying I don't take you seriously why should I take your comment serious?
1- The whole 'expansion' feeling is mangled by stretching it across a whole year. You might have fun but other parts of the player base get nothing they enjoy for a very long time like pvp, wvw or instanced content players. You don't get a 'building up' experience you get something that is cut into pieces.
2- Are you joking? Just look around you.
      Check your friends list.
Look at the PvP leader board and the rank numbers.
      Look is active in wvw.
      Look viewer count on twitch.
Check the stats on wvw websites.
      Check steam.
      Scroll down your guild.
Check your static squad. Same 10 people?
      ....
Just because it is fine inside your house it might rain outside. Numbers are going down everywhere you look.
      5. There has to be a standard If everything Anet does is a throwing stuff at a wall and see what sticks is not a situation worth developing. Why do you think this time you have no strikes? Because they are testing how many people engage with raids compared to strikes. It is basically testing and therefore a gamble if people like it or not.
6- Lets talk again if sometime in the future you play a raid wing while you spend 80% of combat time on a mount.
7- Housing is literally a Cashgrap look at the system it is easily to spot. You hit a wall very quick and you only have to solution to solve it time or money.
What do you want me to do anyways? Should I make guides like everybody does. Making reviews by reading quest text? Is gw2 a game where I just play in silence and just absorb information? Why the do you think I keep going making videos where I get harassed in comments constantly?
At least people show me that they care for the game if that is what I have to do to see if gw2 is still alive so be it.
Anyways you have your mind set up I am just farming hate views.. thanks for your participation.
