    I am a Hoosier (live in North Central part of state). I either read or heard long time ago that Hoosier was a phrase used to back in the day to see who was at the door. “Who’s there”? Slang for Hoosiers. There are a lot of hillbilly’s here though. Mostly moving here from the south for jobs. Love your channel.❤️

    Years ago, I had a Fifth Wheel but I am so glad I now full-time in a motorhome. It is so much easier to get ready to travel and set up when I’m there. On top of that I get a shade better fuel mileage in my 40’ diesel pusher towing a Honda pilot.Thanks for the video.

      @@RVUntethered yes it is very easy. If I’m stopping just for the night in a rest area, I can push one button and it levels out on the airbags.😁 My coach is 24 years old as they built them pretty good back then.

    A Hoosier is someone from Indiana not meant to be derogatory .
    We have a Duel Fuel Champion generator which is only weighs about 40lbs. You can use (2) of them in parallel if AC is needed . I hook mine up to the rear propane port and don't have to carry gasoline with me for the generator. You can find them on sale for around $450.

    I had no idea that I was a Hoosier. Hoosier daddy!! Recommendation for Indiana if you're still there, is Turkey Run state park. We had a blast there. We did some youtubing there. Covered bridges and ladders to hike too. Very scenic.

    Love our Pullrite Hitch my only complaint is having to be almost completely straight hooking up. Recently upgraded to long bed and contemplating going a different route. Oh yeah it's kind of heavy too lol.

    • @RVUntethered
      @RVUntethered  3 місяці тому +1

      I get that. They have a line of hitches out, called OEX. We had a chance to play with one recently and it was pretty great. It combines the ball/cuppler setup that so many like, but they put it at a height that they feel is a more stable pull height (as opposed to a gooseneck) and it's lighter weight. I have never been a fan of any kind of ball/cuppler or gooseneck style (although I grew up with them on the ranch).
      I admit, that OEX Superlite Ball and Funnel (the official name), was a super tight pull and I could lift it in and out by myself (unlike my current hitch). No chucking. It felt like one unit. I'm sticking with my slider, because I don't have a reason to lift it in and out, but it honestly changed my mind about that particular style.
      Just thought I'd mention it. We filmed us playing with it, but it was no doubt a great option for someone.

    We are from SE Wisconsin and have never used the word Hoosier or even heard it other than for sports. However we do refer to folks from Illinois as Flat Landers or FIB’s. I will not tell you what FIB means and leave that for you to figure out. Not very nice but at times very fitting, especially when they pass you on the highway at 90+mph in a 70.

    All these upgrades will obviously cost more. We love your channel but don't forget that some people would just be happy to be able to afford your trailer. Lithium batteries are very sensitive to heat and cold. We have been RVing for over 10 years and have not lost an awning from 28 seconds. Too fast and people will be be releasing the awning. Sorry Cody the only one I like is the wind sensor. The TV one was just too ridiculous, you can't be so tired in the evening that pushing the little remote button is annoying. Thanks for listening. Oh one more thing, we get average of 12.5 miles per gallon. And have never got less than 10.7. With our Duramax. We have a 28 foot Cougar fifth wheel. 5 feet or so bigger will not get us to your bad mileage. Be safe.

    In this video you were talking about an open ground and what was the plug that you used could you please explain to me because I’m having the same problem using my generator cause it won’t let me do it because it says that I have an open ground and my name is Bill White

    • @RVUntethered
      @RVUntethered  3 місяці тому +1

      I would be lying if I told you that I completely understood it, as electrical is not my expertise. But my buddy over at the @FairWindsRV channel has a lot of background in it and told me about this plug. It fixed my problem and it seems to be an easily overlooked item. I have the link to mine below, if you want to take a look at the details on it.

    Do you guys use any special app for fuel stops since you have a gas motor and can't use the big truck stop fuel lanes that's the one thing I miss since switching to a gas motor

    • @RVUntethered
      @RVUntethered  3 місяці тому +1

      We don’t use any apps for that. Our Garmin does a good job of telling us when there are upcoming gas stops so we can look at it on a map and determine if we can get in there or not. We wing it more than not, unless we are traveling to areas where we know gas is scarce. Then we actually map out the miles and have soft plans for fuel stops.
      It may not be the BEST option, but it has worked . Sometimes we pull in and go, NOPE and keep rolling. 🤣
