Kayak Trip Chesapeake Bay New Point Comfort Virginia

Playing around on a Sunday near New Point Comfort Lighthouse Virginia.
The forecast for the day was calm waters, 5-10 MPH winds waves of 1 foot. Most of the area was calm water, However there where some small shoals on the east side of the lighthouse that created a pretty small soupy mess. Seems to be a good place to get use to small waves and to play around in. Would like to come back when the winds are up a bit. I think, at one point you could camp on the beach. It is a little exposed for camping. I double checked this and it seems the nature conservatory now owns the land and there is NO camping allowed. But it is a great place to visit during the day. Very nice place, lighthouse, dolphins, few small waves and a nice beach. Again, this was a Sunday and on the weekends the area can be pretty busy with boat traffic. Might be best to go out with a group and on a week day if you can do it. Again, very nice beach around this area..keep it clean.

If you go into the waves or follow the waves at a 10 to 30 degree angle it isn't as bad and you take on less water.

Hello Jose, it is a Easky 15. It's been a pretty good boat for day trips, smaller waters and even makes a pretty good weekend boat although I would like more room. Thanks for the question :)
