He thinks about Appolonia and straight away sees his daughter with Andy Garcia and realise that with him she might have the same faith as Appolonia. This movie is a piece of art. No words needed...
Unlike Apollonia, Mary is forbidden to be with Vincent because they are cousins. She learns about Apollonia in this scene but knows she can't be like her because Vincent is pushing for something he cannot have, no matter how they both feel
Not only does she share the same fate as Apollonia she also kinda looks like her. Michael spent all 3 movies trying to protect his 2nd wife and their kids from ending up like his 1st wife and their unborn child. Only for history to repeat itself. If you look Michael has the same scream with his daughter that he had before Apollonia's car blow up.
'She was wonderful, Beautiful, I Loved her' Whenever I listen to this song and words it remembers me my true love and secret love. I always loved her than anyone. Till today her memories are green in my heart. Tears comes the same way how Michael Coroleone gets. I always Love her. Miss you Pem
I don't think it's true, the mother of his child was, he was still trying to get back with her in the end, saying he loved her. He mourned Apolonia and what they didn't have because of her death.
When Michael says "I dream of my wife and children, and how I lost them", he is speaking of Apollonia and the unborn child she was carrying at the time of her death. He was not speaking about Kay.

Grandfather Giovanni Rinaldi is an excellent pianist and from an early age Nino's passion for music is evident. Thanks to his mother Ernesta starts playing the piano at the age of four and composing at the age of just eight.

When Michael says "I dream of my wife and children, and how I lost them", he was speaking of his beloved Apollonia and their unborn child(ren). In the book, Apollonia was pregnant at the time of her death, a tidbit that wasn't included in the movie. Sadly, later in the movie, he did lose Anthony and Mary figuratively, and Mary permanently when she was shot on the steps of the Opera house. As far as Kay was concerned, that was a marriage of convenience, literally intended to produce an heir.
This is literally one of the most sad and beautiful moments of the trilogy and it makes so much more sentimental if you've read the book I myself cried in this scene and in Apollonia's death
The deleted scene in Godfather I of Mike sick asking for Apollonia after her death made me understand why he cried in this scene. When I had not watched the deleted scene I kept wondering myself why he cried... He loved her so much.

Brucia la Terra" (The Burning Earth) is an authentic Sicilian ballad that was one of Michael Corleone's particular favourites, as it reminded him of his first wife, Apollonia. It was sung by Anthony Corleone.
This always makes me sad because this is where I realised that he always truly loved Apollonia . As well here you can see him realise that her death is what changed him from the sweet young man who fought for his country to a cold killer who was obsessed with power
He should have been Michael's and Appolonia's son. But there he is- honoring Appolonia with her song without even knowing it and Appolonia is looking down from Heaven and smiling.
I love how the actual theme blends into the music Anthony is playing towards the end. As if, like Michael, we're remembering Appolonia and his time in Sicily. The 3rd is my favorite of the 3 because of these more referential scenes and moments.

His true love was apollonia. Love of his life, but he kept it secret. Kay was not so important like apollonia. He never forget them! I wished they would be together forever, but she died..
If she staid alive, all would be different. :) He would have more children and maybe he wouldn't be so agressive with his mafia opponents. When someone we love die, people usually become cold and unstoppable. Find Stalin's speech from a funeral of the only woman he loves. In the end, he said: All love that I had in my hearth, died with you that day. And we know what Stalin did...

this film is the living and real representation of the soul of us Sicilians, it was made perfectly in every single detail, which however can lead to an immense love for one's family, origins and land or in the worst case like Michele Corleone, who he turned true Sicilian passion into pure rage.
