I can't tell you how many times I have stopped watching a video, on subject I am truly interested in, because they just love to hear themselves talk. Most of the time its not needed. They can make a 30 min video last 60 min. This particular video I searched for the subject and went down the list to find the shortest in time. Yours happen to be one of them and I do not feel as if there is anything missing because its a shorter video. Its just the info I need and nothing more, so thank you!!!! @@staceyleecreativeWhere do you get your bias tape? I bought a bunch from the fabric store, Joann’s in the states. Came home to realize it’s polyester and cotton.. not sure if it will melt with heat. Making some of these, oven mitts and pot holders as gifts for my mom and sisters this Mother’s Day!

I will be definitely making a few of these for Christmas gifts. I will be using different fabrics for different people. Maybe even Cat fabric for my best friend and dog fabric for my neighbor,

I use a piece of painter’s/masking tape to quilt…. It’s 1 inch wide and you can sew down the side of it, and move to the next place easily to keep your lines straight and sew faster

What size of bias binding did you use? Great video!!! You make it look so easy!!!
It's pretty standard size of 7/8" double bias binding 😊
This might be a stupid question, but l’m new to sewing, do you lower your feed dogs for when you sew around the curve?
Hi, no you don’t. You don’t need to touch the feed dogs unless you are free motion quilting.

Thanks for this pattern. I plan to make it, but I will definitely use MORE than just one layer of Insulbright. I used one of my homemade oven gloves the other day that only had one layer and nearly burned my hand. I think the pattern that came with insulbright said to use batting, too. Just fair warning to anyone interested in making this.

Yes, Stacy. The Insul-Bright pattern recommends “at least one layer of cotton batting … to absorb condensation “. From personal experience, I will be using Insul Bright plus 2 layers. If I’m baking at 450, I want adequate protection. Can’t wait to try this. Thanks again.

Hi Stacey this Bea. I would like to make this oven mitt. What happens if I don’t have the spacing bar...do I hand measure slanted lines using a ruler 1/2 spacing? I just purchased Singer Patchwork sewing machine. I might have a spacer and just don’t know what it looks like. Thanks
Hi, yes that’s what you would do, use chalk or washable marker. Do a google search on what it looks like in case you do have. They are very handy 😊
