it's so important thar both parties have the capacity to have the hard conversation. Often the person who wants to initiate the conversation to mend said issue gets left. I prepare myself now by just anticipating everyone's gonna leave because no friendship or relationship is perfect. Hard convos are inevitable in some cases. Everytime the talk happens, so does the end.
This is a great point. In my upcoming book, Fighting for our Friendships, I help you weigh the potential risks and benefits of these conversations, and how to emotionally and mentally recover if you don't get the outcome you're hoping for. Can't wait to get this book in your hands in early 2024!
My fear of having difficult conversations is because they may see me as being problematic or have the thoughts of "here we go again". I am fighting with myself back and forth, should I say something or shouldn't I. Some people say you shouldn't waste your energy but just move on but how can you place yourself around people/family knowing what you know wouldn't that make me fake.
This is a great video! But what if you've already drifted from the person because you were too embarrassed to confront the issue you had? And now you miss them, what to do?
Oooph, that’s such a tough situation. I have a TikTok vid (and episode of the “Friend Forward” podcast) about how to rekindle things with a former friend! Let me know if it helps!
Thank You for this because I’ve been struggling with talking to my best friend about replacing me as her maid of honor with a coworker she’s only known for a few months and I have been wanting to talk to her but to scare to
At the moment, I have a lot going for me and my friend is pretty frustrated with her life. I shared a difficult experience I was having (I was making fun of it, and myself, but still expecting compassion and support) and she was down on me and jubilating. I felt betrayed and I know I'm not wrong (there is no "benefice of the doubt" here, for me) yet she'll never admit it and probably dismiss my feelings further (which will only leave me feeling MORE betrayed). Not sure how to tackle this one... Thank you for what you share!
I’m not a woman, and neither is my friend (we’re both nonbinary) but thank you so much for this video. I had to talk to them about us not talking much anymore, and it really helped clear thing up between us and everything is on the mend.
