    What is Pruning ?
Pruning is the process where you trim or cut away the dead or overgrown branches of trees, shrubs or woody plants to encourage the growth and get new branches.
    Why to Prune?
!. To get new branches, new shoots and to get lots of new flower blooms.
2.To give the plant a perfect shape and keep it in its desired sizes.
    3. By removing dead canes you prevent from any infection to the plant.
4.To give better air circulation, which encourages better and fresh bloom.
    When to Prune?
In Indian conditions August, September and in February.
    Where to Prune ?
Please give a 45 angle cut half inch above the nodal region. The cut should be very sharp and clean. The open surface of the cut should be facing opposite to the node region.
    How to Fertilize?
Fertilize with Suphala( NPK),Bone meal,Neem cake,Horn meal,Pottash etc once in 15 days gap.
    Watering:
Water the plants daily either early in the morning or at the onset of evening.
Please Dehead the spent flowers once in a week.

After watching your videos I did same process on my rose plant s on 20th October . It's 13th December today and all of my rose plants are full of buds and flowers. Looking them is giving me special energy and motivation to do more. Thanks for sharing this great video.

Thank you. Extremely useful. Very clear description. May I request you to upload a yearly calendar for rose care. It is confusing when you in some videos say fertilise only once a month and in some places it is fortnightly. If you give a monthly care calendar, it will be very useful.

I am treating my rise plant purchased some 4 months ago, with ice water on the leaves to give it a feeling of a cool weather in the hot Chennai climate. Happy that after one flower, 5 branches have developed and I will prune it in October, though it is not the end of rains for Chennai. And try to develop the stems also to propagate. I am giving some tea made from compost or banana skin powder or orange skin powder. I am patient and want to realise branches and buds. So far no problem about infection, fungus or rot.

    Hello Sir..
I loved the way you explain things in detail in your video.
    I have 2 questions
    No 1
We do not get the ingredients that you mentioned to make our own fertilizer. So if I have to buy ready made fertilizer what should be thr NPK ratio for optimum flowering and growth of the rose plant.
    No 2
I have a recently purchase plant. After how many months should I do the pruning of the plant. The height of the plant is around 1 feet.
Your knowledge is valuable to us. Please keep spreading it
    Thanks

    • @GardeningismyPassion
      @GardeningismyPassion  6 років тому

Let the plants get 2 feet high and you can prune them. Instead of buying all these you can purchase " Rose food " directly from any nursery or online from Amazon or Flipkart

Hi Dr! I’m Vijay from Malaysia. I love roses and I’m trying to grow them properly in pots around my house. When is the best time to prune the rose plants in a tropical country like Malaysia where there’s sunshine and rain throughout the year? The heaviest rainfall is usually from October to December while the driest months are from March to May. Thanks.

Agarwalji plz tell me,apart from seedlings, what should be my work in garden in this season. Could you please make video for this?
And one more thing I want to say is that you need not tell anyone to subscribe your channel coz your work it self is more than enough, your action speaks louder than words .

Thanks again for your kind support and complement. Winter season is coming to Indian subcontinent so you have lots of work to do for your garden or for your pots and cans. There are lots of season flowers for which you have to make Potting mix , transplanting the Seedlings, make ready for hanging baskets lots of works can be done. Thanks a lot for your encouragement again.
