@@RyanRetro1 Ryan my man, hey so yes what needs to be done is messing with the gpu drivers as I have a s20 plus running the snap dragon 865 processor and you kinda have to mess with the gpu drivers some games run fine on turn up while some games need the Qualcomm drivers... Example Qualcomm v682 Vulcan Driver fixes the flickering in auras crystals... I haven't gotten too far in the game but seems to work same with borderlands 3. However borderlands 3 needs a turnup driver other wise on a Qualcomm v682 Vulcan driver it freezes when you are about to get off the bus.
@@RyanRetro1 No worries. Any chance of getting a emulator version in there as well? I seem to remember mine not having the same functionality as yours for YZ.
My RP5 just arrived last night, so in celebration you get a brand new subscription! I have to get it set up set up with a few apps today, but I look forward to this channel being a continual source of helpful info going foward.
Mine just came in yesterday too. Gonna have to spend the weekend getting it perfect for emu's, but right now, I am absolutely loving in house streaming from steam. Definitely gotta get moonlight working so I can run everything.
A community compatibility sheet is huge! I've been hoping for one and was thinking of starting one up if no one did. I'm glad you did! Just before I get my RP5 out for delivery today too! Would you consider adding sections for Vita, PS2, and maybe Gamecube and Wii? I know most PS2/Gamecube run fine but it'd be nice to know if the community finds tricks for those trickier games. And Vita is about as hit and miss as Switch so generally seems like a good call. EDIT: It'd also be nice if we could add a username when submitting performance data. Seeing who is sending what can be important, especially if we have two different results for the same game, and we can also determine trustworthy contributors. (Although now that I think of it, there isn't really anything to stop impersonators...)
Game cube and wii are mostly fine most games run at aleast 30fps. You can possibly up res them or add a texture pack to make the image more clean or much smoother... Ps2 is tricky unless you find the ps2 and vita driver that matches the snapdragon 865 processors adreno 650. Vita and switch are hit and miss you can use different gpu drivers and see what works. But graphical intense games you can just skip as the retroid pocket 5 is being held back by the 8 gb of ram... For an example my s20 plus with 12 gb of rom plays every console fine aleast the problem is always switch and vita even with different gpu drivers those games on vita and switch need updates and patches to work properly meaning you have to install the update file for every game you have and firmware to match the games in order for it to work properly. Mind you the s20 plus runs a snap dragon 865 processor. It can get tricky with certain games. Game cube you can forget about crash banicoot play the ps1 version with upressed on either ps1 or lemudriod app.. Tom Clancy splinter is not playable it freezes or stutters. Other Tom Clancy games play fine with some hiccups.
This is an amazing form! I’m supposed to be getting mine today and armed with a 1 terabyte sd card I’m ready to play some games! I’m so excited for the community collaboration!
Can’t wait to contribute to this spreadsheet! I have one suggestion; perhaps including a validation step before overwriting previous values. Making your current chart the “official/verified” list but still collecting user feedback that either you or a select group could validate first. My RP5 just cleared customs and will be delivered this weekend.
Thank you sir for flipping screen info, for that I'll purchase one.I'm going to wait until after the holidays to order mine, meanwhile I'll keep paying attention to your posts, so I'll know what to do when it arrives. Happy gaming!
As someone new to emulations and just got an RP5 your videos have been a godsend. Could you make a video showing what your files look like on your microSD? Such as how you split up different consoles, turnip drivers, game files and everything else.
Glad to hear that! If you watch my ES-DE setup guide video, I show how it automatically creates directories for all your ROMs. That's what my SD card looks like! Then I've just got the turnip drivers and other bios files lazily in my Downloads folder haha that's it!
Great addition for the community, thanks Ryan. Some suggestions: Add columns for resolution, handheld/docked mode. Also, what if others believe the performance of a game is less than what is reported in the sheet? How will their submissions be processed? Thanks again!
Thanks for the suggestions! I wanted to keep the form quite basic at first to not scare people away 😂 those suggestions would definitely help! As far as the performance rating it's unfortunately very opinion-based. I thought about how we could make it more accurate like options such as Solid 30, Solid 60 etc but it started to get really complicated. I think I'll just take people's word for it haha
The reason I asked about the lesser performance is one example I saw. Mario Kart 8 listed as perfect. With the listed settings, it still stutters quite a bit even after running through a course, and crashes as well. You might have been thinking of the wii u version, which plays smoothly, but won't let you go past the first race.
@@strikelight Maybe! I thought it worked perfectly after compiling shaders but maybe I'm misremembering so I'll drop it down to Playable and let's see if anyone can update it later :)
I just added like 20 games to the list. 2 to note are Donkey Kong tropical freeze with Turpnip 9V2, runs at 60! Also, Crash Insane Trilogy runs at 30 on the Skyline emulator but runs slower on the others
btw for the issue of updates being to big to fit on the device, you can use software like "switch army knife" to combine the updates/dlcs with the game files, so you don't have to install the updates on the device itself
This is the best thing ever. I was going to make one myself when mine finally came in the mail. One question. Which turnip driver is 9v2? Is there a reason we're not using the lastest one?
Hey Ryan, I’ve watched all your guides but I can’t remember if you go over how and which turnip drivers to install. Can you guide me on where to find this information or possibly consider uploading a turnip drivers tutorial? Thank you!
@@turtlesinapool Some of my videos do include a link to my specific driver of choice in the description and I do show how to add it to the emulator too in some of my videos. This is so great. Im waiting for my RP5 and your videos will make waiting very productive! I think youre the first and only guy putting RP5 community together. I know this is off topic for this video, but I had a question about ES-DE. If I've gotten everything on my RP5 all set up individually like RetroArch and all the stand alone emulators and stuff, is it worth it or necessary to use a front end?
Personally I'd only use a front end if I'm going to connect the RP5 to the TV because RetroArch is good at mapping external controllers without having to keep changing the settings. If I'm just using the RP5 in my hands and playing some games, I don't use a frontend at all.
If you have a large library of games across different systems, it definitely helps to put the games all into one place, making it easier to find a game you want to play, and switch quickly to starting another game when you're done with the other. From a personal preference, I enjoy the look and feel of a front end as it makes it feel like more of a handheld console, rather than an android device that you happen to be able to play games on.
Hello Ryan, can you test Splatoon on wii U, Yokai watch 3 on 3ds and Dragon quest 3 hd 2d remake on the "secret console" pls, Thank you for your incredible work!
I just entered a game, One suggestion is to make a mandatory column for resolution 1x, 0.75x, etc, People are not writing that in the comments. Without it it's useless, Someone enter Mario kart 8 deluxe as playable, but even at 0.75 it crashes ands restart the RP5. You need 0.5 to run and it's still not great
Sorry to hear that. The directories ES-DE makes are just folders so they're only a few KBs in size. Check you're moving the games and not copying them (duplicating them). Just check you've moved the roms into the right folders and you don't have them in 2 places at once.
Thank you. I just want to know where you get your secret console games from? I've been using a site that has slowly been taking these away. I have a small choice. But I think soon they'll be all gone. In saying that though I have about 12 games running atm. Smaller 2D games and some older 3D games. However it's still amazing I get to play some Switch games on the RP5. I was playing Cuphead and Inside last night
Wait, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 has a switch port??? Or is it Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 or MvC collection? I cannot find anything on UMvC3 on switch. By the way, have you tried Star Ocean 2nd R or Unicorn Overlord? I still find it so confusing the “secret console” emulation I am feeling overwhelmed to try it, is there one emulator that is overall best/easiest to setup?
There are a few emulators but they all look identical when you use them so don't feel overwhelmed. Which Marvel game are you asking about? I don't think I showed it haha
This is a great idea. I have one problem though, it will not let me sort the columns. I don't see a drop down arrow like you have in your video. I am signed is so that's not the issue. Maybe I am doing something wrong? Also I have the mini and I have tested lots of games, would it be okay if i posted my results? Maybe there should be a check box for "tested on mini"..
Next to the Secret Console heading at the top of the table, can you see an icon that looks like a couple of calculators? Click that and you should be able to sort the games by Performance or A-Z. Sure the Mini and the RP5 have the same internals besides RAM right? I'd definitely be up for you to add your test findings and maybe just mention it was on the Mini in the Notes section :)
