Huge Succulent Renovation in San Carlos

- Back at another one of my favorite gardens doing a giant maintenance/reno. By the end of the day, we had taken out almost all of the existing plants. Don't worry, we are salvaging all viable succulents and replanting them into the garden. Greg fixed the leak in the pondless waterfall while the team and I picked up all of the detritus from the garden. Tomorrow we will begin staging and sinking plants.
I would really love to see a time lapse of your whole crew doing maintenance on a garden like this! Watching all the action is my favorite part.

Oh, cutting that neighbours tree made me remember. I cut an overhanging tree once, when I got my first house, and my neighbour went crazy! She wasn’t mad that I’d cut her tree, she just wanted her cuttings back! Turned out that in the U.K. if a tree or plant grows into your property/garden, you HAVE to give the cuttings back if required, as they are not your property! Crazy but true! I try to charm them before I commence cutting, so that we can throw them away with their permission!
Can I just say, your videos are an inspiration,a ray of light, and just overall so amazing to watch. Thank you, for sharing your work, your gardens transformations, and just being you!!

today i found out something that might give you a small chuckle. snake plants where i'm from (Québec) are called "langues de belle-mere" which translates literally to "Mother-In-Law's Tongues"

Why not dymondia in between flagstone. Why pebbles? A nightmare of a mess. Why flagstone? Why not a windy wooden walkway?
We apply a sealant called glaze and seal that keeps the pebbles in place. Just needs reapplied from time to time.
